Where are my pictures saved from messaging?

This is starting to drive me crazy.

Latest OS. Apple Mail message with a photo. I choose "export Photos.

But now in pictures, I can't for the life of me find. It is not in the last import. It doesn't seem to be anywhere. And the only way to find seems to be to squint at all the thumbnails of my Photos or pictures of all areas. Not funny! Not very Apple-like or the other.

Oh and when I drag the photo in the Photos manually, it warns me of a duplicate! So I know that it is there. But even this message gives me no clue as to where he is.

I hope someone has a suggestion - thanks!
Adam

I am not a technician, but I had a similar experience. It is possible that the photo sent in Apple's Mail was taken earlier and he could have metadata that placed her in Photos in chronological order. However, without knowing when the photo was taken, it could be anywhere. This happened to me when I saved a picture of a friend on Facebook. I continued to look for the last import photo and it wasn't there. Finally, I came across it.

If the person who sent you the picture knows when it was made (if the correct date is set in his camera) that might help you.

Otherwise, you can try this:

1 save the picture on your desktop instead of save directly on the Photos of Apple Mail.

2 change the name of the picture (so that it will not be seen as a duplicate in the next step).

3. then import it in Photos from your desktop. It might be more likely to attend the last import. If so, you can enter in the news photos and change the date to one who helps you find.

These ideas work if, in fact, it's metadata at the origin of the problem.

  • where are my pictures?

Been meaning to ask this for a while. Frankly, 'Photos' has me confused as to where are my photos and the relationship between the devices and iCloud. I hope someone can explain a simple explanation of how all this works.

I just Aperture, that I really enjoyed using. It is what it is. The point is I'm not from the iPhoto then terminology can also be confused me.

I have photos on my iPhone and the Photo on my Mac (also on my iPad, but let's not confuse things).

    On my Mac and iPhone:

    iCloud library is DISABLED

    My photo stream is running

    iCloud, photo sharing is on

So, I take a picture with my phone. It appears in the Camera Roll sections and my photo stream. He also appears on my desktop in 'Photos', 'Pictures' and 'My Photo Stream.'

So where is this photo? What happens if I delete it from one of these five "places"? Who removes it from all locations?

How to remove a photo from my phone only (which I consider temporary storage), but keep it on my desktop (which I consider permanent storage)?

Now I drag this photo to an album on the desktop program. He appears in the sixth position. Did it change anything? Can I remove one of the locations on my phone and still keep the file on my desktop? Can I remove one of the areas of program funds (apart from "all Photos") and just keep it in the folder I dragged in?

Conversely, what should I do if I want to delete the picture from all devices? What I have to delete in several place?

I have disabled the automatic opening Photos when the iPhone is connected - there is no pictures to import, because they seem to all be imported via iCloud. I always thought that transferred iCloud only a version low resolution via Photo Stream and you should always you connect and import for the version full resolution. Has this changed?

If I drag all the photos in the album shared to another local album, which records a permanent copy on my desktop?

When I take pictures with my SLR, it's simple... import map in 'Photos' (well, almost simple - I have to import using the Image Capture to remove the low resolution jpeg files if only RAW files are imported.) Otherwise I have to manually edit each photo in RAW in pictures, one by one).

    Hey Joe,

I don't know if I can answer all your questions, but you're ready in a similar way to the way I am, so I'll tell you what I know:

To the best of my knowledge, opening use the iPhoto library, the terminology should be similar. I always use iPhoto and Aperture as well as Photos on my Mac.

I have pictures on my Mac and on my iPhone (also on my iPad, but let's not confuse things). The iOS and Mac app for photos now all have the same name - Photos.

    On my Mac and iPhone:

iCloud library is ON me too

My photo stream is ON Yup

iCloud, sharing photos is ON Yup

In addition, since you indicate below that your camera photos see the place at all three places on the Mac, and then in the pictures on the Mac under Photos app > Preferences > General, it seems that you have also the possibility in respect of the importation of 'Copy items to the photo library' turned on

The photo is saved on your device (in the iPhone photo library), as well as on your Mac to Mac photo library. There is a library in each place. As you do use icloud library (which is a great shared library between all devices and computers signed on the same account iCloud with iCloud as library lit), each device and Mac each have a photo library.

How to remove a photo from my phone only (which I consider temporary storage), but keep it on my desktop (which I consider permanent storage)? Since you are Importing enabled in the application Photos on Mac, you can delete the photo from your iPhone photo library and it will have no effect on the photo library on your Mac

There is only one library in each place. One on the phone on the iPad, Mac. The photo stream is separated because it is designed to share photos between devices, so the removal of a photo of the film on your phone it will not erase the photo stream. And if you delete a photo from your photo stream it won't remove it from your camera roll. The photos that are in albums can be deleted without affecting the flow of pictures or film. An album is just a file that points to the different pictures of your library. When you delete a photo from an Album, you simply remove the pointer, not the photo itself. The same principle applies to the structure of the photo on the Mac.

I have disabled the automatic opening Photos when the iPhone is connected - there is no pictures to import, because they seem to all be imported via iCloud. I always thought that transferred iCloud only a version low resolution via Photo Stream and you should always you connect and import for the version full resolution. Has this changed? I think that the los-res, full resolution refers to photo library from iCloud, not photo stream. To the best of my knowledge, the photos that are imported into the photo stream Mac are images in full resolution. I used to have configured iPhoto to automatically import my photos Photo Stream as well.

We create a shared album where many people add photos to an event. We can see all the photos in the shared album. But where are these pictures? Should I have a permanent copy on my desktop? Can someone delete one I added pictures? If so, it get deleted from my computer? What happens if someone deletes a photo, they added? What is removed from my office? If I drag all the photos in the album shared to another local album, which records a permanent copy on my desktop? Photos and what is done with them in a shared photo stream has no effect on any of your libraries. Shared photos are all housed in iCloud, but do not count against your storage iCloud and will stay there until they are deleted by you or a contributor deletes them. Here is a support article that might give a clearer idea of how the shared photo streams process works: iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ - Apple Support

Not sure about the part of the camera. I import directly into the Photos app with my 35mm digital camera. Because I'm not deeply in the treatment of the image, so am not familiar with RAW images... (sorry).

But I hope that the explanations of the structures is a little clearer. Post back with any questions!

  • Muse never remembers where are my pictures.  What has changed?

Whenever I have add images to my site, I have always from my 'hard drives' and have then focus on my folder where are all my images.  Who has good the first time around, but I have to start from there, every time.  Muse remembered more where I finally found my images.  It is USED before the latest version.

None of my other programs, such as Photoshop has this behavior.  They always remember where I went last to recover an image.

It's a pain in the end to keep my pictures from the back to zero in the folder.

Anyone see this problem or knows how to fix?

If it's any help, I'm on Windows 8 and not a Mac.

But even once, it never happened before, only recently.

  • re installed XP. Which if I understand correctly it breaks the path (links) here, where are the pictures. Photos are still there. How to make to restore the links to the photos are located under my pictures. Thank you

I have not read method 4 5 methods before re install XP on top of the instalation of gooseberry.  Somehow, I had picked up Paladan or palladium that froze my system and wouldn't let me go unless I bought it.  So I used the recovery disc to repair XP.  Once I did I found that all my photos did not appear in my photos.  I installed Picasa and can send pictures very well.  I would like to get XP to recognize the photos so I can use Outlook to send photos.

I read a few other posts and wonder why in method 4 to install in a separate folder?

The installation disc said repair and I just let it go in automatic mode. How does the system decide which version to boot from?  When it is in a different folder with a new name?  Is it the latest version installed to boot from or what.

    Thank you

  • BlackBerry Smartphones where are my pictures

I can't find some of my photos.  Some of them stored in the Device Manager, and then some are shops in the media card. When I pull up in my pictures, I get only to see the pictures in the media in the device.  Now, I don't see even the media card link?  Where are they?

    Thank you.

You are probably well connected the USB cable to the PC, and if so, your card with active Mass Storage is not visible SINCE the BlackBerry itself at that time here.

Unplug the USB cable from the BB, and your photos and multimedia card should reappear.

If not, look at the Options > Media Card. Do you want to show your card media present on the device?

  • Saved catalog - where are my pictures?

    Hello

I back up my Lightroom 5 in many ways catalog.  I'm on a Mac and keep my catalog on a disk, external supporting up to two other external drives.  One of my backup methods must simply drag and drop the 5 Lightroom catalog file to another external drive.  This seems to put everything in this file, including the .lrcat file and all the image files, with her.

However, if I open Lightroom since the backup drive by clicking on the Lightroom Catalog.lrcat 5 file, and the unit containing my initial catalog is off, thumbnails that appear for most of my images in grid mode are empty.  Most of the metadata are there, but the question of the size of the file read "file not found".  This is true even for those images that appear in their thumbnails.  On the other hand, if the unit containing my original catalog is enabled, all the thumbnails have images and metadata is no longer say "file not found".

I'm assuming it is a kind of SEO question, with Lightroom, look for the original images, even if I'm opening since the backup disk and the backup drive contains its own copies of image files.

Bottom line is that I'm not sure, now that the copy of my folder Lightroom 5 entire catalog by slip and fall on a different drive is a good backup procedure.  (I also use Time Machine to back up to another external drive.)  If I lose my main drive that contains my original catalog, I'll be able to get my backup to search for on the backup disk image files?  If so, how do I do that?

    Thanks for all the answers.

Referring to the 'catalogue' in Lightroom, we usually talk the Lightroom Catalog, which is a database. It keeps track of the whereabouts of the images on your computer, changes that are made to these images. In my opinion, it's a good idea to always leave your Lightroom backup catalog files to point to the original images you are working on using Lightroom. Otherwise, you can have several different versions of the same image. The idea of the image backup is to have something to fall back on in case of a disk crash or the computer.

If you really want to redirect Lightroom to backup images, then it would be a good idea if all of your images have been in a folder structure that puts all your image files in a master file of the image. Then, in the backup catalog, you could do a right-click on the master file and choose the option "update folder location" and you would be able to point of Lightroom to backup files. As a result on the issue of the image of the master, it will update the location of all subfolders and images. But as I have indicated, I think that it is better to let Lightroom catalogs backup pointing to the images in their original location. Otherwise, if it becomes necessary to use a backup catalog due to the corruption of catalogue, the backup catalog will demonstrate for backup images that may not have all of the settings.

Some examples might help to explain a little better. Suppose first that you encounter a corrupted catalog. All that is necessary is for you to replace the catalog corrupted with your most recent backup. If the catalog is still pointing to the original images, then you can simply resume your work. Of course you have lost all the changes have been made since this backup was created. So let as an indication of how many times you decide you want to back up your catalog.

Now, let's say that your catalog is not serious, but your pictures are on a disk hard breaks down. Then everything you need to do is point the catalog for images backup and all adjustments in the catalog will be applied and the work can continue without interruption. You can copy these backup images on a new hard drive for work. If the hard drive has the same letter drive or name as he did previously you will continue just work. If to drive changes all the letters you will have to do is update the location of the folder. All adjustments are still in place and are ongoing.

  • Where are the pictures stored when taking a picture using the Microsoft Lifecam HD 6000?

Microsoft lifecam hd 6000 image storage

    Hi all

Does anyone know where the photo store, after I take photos using microsoft lifecam hd 6000?

    Thank you.

You can check if the pictues were stored in the folder %Temp%.

Click on Start and then run.

In the text box on the run window, type %temp% , and then click OK.

A folder full of files and other folders will appear.

You can search by the date field for the day that you were using your WebCam. If the pictures are not saved, you can search for them by name. If you cannot find them by searching, photos no longer on your computer.

If you want to increase the space available, all the folders and files that you see in this Temp folder are no longer used by Windows XP and can be deleted safely.

To remove files or individual files, hold your Ctrl key while clicking on each item you want to remove. Release the Ctrl key when you are finished.

To remove these items, press your delete key or choose file , then delete from the menu.

Confirm that you want to delete the files by clicking Yes in the window to confirm deleting multiple files that opens.

After all the files have been deleted, you can close the window and empty your trash, permanently remove the files from your PC.

To ensure that the pictures of the webcam are saved for next time, you need to manually back up.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Where are the pictures?

When my iPhone 5s (iOS 9.3.2) is connected to my Windows 7 system and I use Windows Explorer to examine the contents of the iPhone, there is now only a subdirectory in the folder DCIM, 100APPLE, where there were once many of these subdirectories.

In DCIM\100APPLE, Windows displays 29 images for a total of approximately 47 MB.

In iTunes, the "Summary" page shows 690 photos for a total of about 320 MB.

The "ICloud photo" folder on my Windows 7 computer shows 529 Photos occupying about 1 GB

On the iPhone itself, using the Photos app, the Album titled 'All the Photos' has 467 photos.  In settings > storage > Photos & camera, the photo library is shown as taking up 320 MB (which is in agreement with the figure of iTunes).  There are also a few minor items, My Photo Stream, Stream Photo Shared and synchronized iTunes library, but they add up to less than 1 MB.

"Optimize the iPhone storage" is activated and "Upload to my photo stream.

I remember the last time I have looked at myself to the folder structure in the DCIM folder.  This change in structure from says iOS 7 or 8 IOS to iOS9?

I guess pictures of 467 which iPhone says there are also in the "ICloud photo" folder on the computer and this issue has another 62 images.  But why do I see only 29 photos using Windows Explorer?  What happened to the other subdirectories 1nnAPPLE?

I do not put much credit on the card memory of iTunes.  For example, it shows also 3.34 GB free even if the phone itself reports only 1.4 GB free and Windows reports 1.36 GB free, so I'm not too worried about his report of 690 photos.

Really?  Nobody knows the answer to this?

I upgraded from the Mavericks to El Capitan, and now most of my pictures have disappeared (or maybe I just can't find the).  "iPhoto" is disappeared from the dock and replaced with "Photos".  I found iPhoto in the Applications folder and ran - I received a message that I had to run "iPhoto Library of valuation."  I did it.  My photos are still not visible in 'Photos' (nor can I find them anywhere in the Finder).   I ran iPhoto and now I get a message that I have an obsolete version of iPhoto and I need to get a newer version of the App Store.  I go to the App Store and do not iPhoto.

Help!   I had tons of photos that I wouldn't lose.

The Finder, choose utilities go to menu, open the Script Editor and run:

If the_string begins by ": ~:" then set the_string to (path to the AsString home folder) & items 4 thru-1 of the_string

Tell application "Finder" to reveal the point the_string

This will select the library in the Finder. Run iPhoto Library upgrade on it or drag it to the Photos icon in the Dock as needed.

I think that the title is pretty self-explanatory. Little, I liked the pretty pictures. By default mine rubber ducky on this new computer. I can't find the others. Where did they go?

    Hello

You can use any image for your image file into account.

If you have access to any Windows 7 computer, you can copy photos from default account on a USB key and place them in a folder on the PC in Windows 8.

In Windows 7, these photos are stored in the following folder.

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\User account Pictures\Default pictures

Copy the default folder of images on a USB key.

On the computer of Windows 8, place this file in the folder images C:\Users\your utilisateur\Mes .

(Where name is the name of the account allows you to connect)

After the folder is placed in this place, on the Start screen, click on your account in the top-right and select the image account.

In the next window, click on the Browse button.

Click the link to go to the top until you see the pictures folder. Select this folder to expand.

Select the default images folder, then select the photo that you want to use.

  • Upgrade of the Sierra: where are my pictures!

Well, I see that a lot of people have this problem but have yet to find an answer to the problem anywhere.  My patience is lost, I despise the fact that I have * money on shit Apple but I need to find my photos.  Stupidly, I'm fallen for Apple BS again and "upgraded" in the Sierra.  Now all my photos and the Organization, that I spent a year are no longer accessible by something else as well as the new 'Photos '.  I never had iPhoto first, never used.  Each thread simple discussion I can find guard speaks of iPhoto and animated for the Photos news images.  I can see the picture files, but all my organization has disappeared; and I can't access my photos of any other application EXCEPT Photos!  If I could find an Apple exec I would slam their face until they cried!

Someone has a REAL solution to get my photos and the Organization in the way it was before this stupid OS Sierra update?

    < re-titled by host >

I think you should be able to find your photos here ~/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary.

Presumably, you could also restore your library and its organization of your backup so that you can continue to use any photo library program you usually use.

  • Where are the pictures on my SE live?

I recently bought a new self and - of course - was playing with Live Photos.

Looking at photos taken recently on my phone, I'm a bit confused by the fact that there is no way to distinguish between those who are Live Photos. It is a little better on my Mac in Photos, since the circle of "Live pictures" at the bottom left. But you can only see it if you're looking full size photos.

Seeing him Live Photos are great, and that people can watch for a while and then later remove them to save space, I do not understand why Apple doesn't make it easy to find them in the pictures on the Mac. Or has to do a smart folder to find them.

And surely, it is not true that it is impossible at all find them on my iPhone SE?

Am I missing something fundamental here? Or Apple simply cannot have quite right?

    Thank you

Hello! On the iPhone IS (as well as any iPhone capable of Live picture), the Live pictures are not automatically put in a separate album. Live photos, that you have taken will be in your album "All Photos". Also, the only way to find a direct photo is click on an image and then scroll your individual pictures. When you arrive on a Live Photo, you'll see it move when you scroll over it.

This may all be a bit frustrating, it can be useful if you create a new album especially for live pictures then and just manually put the pictures in there. I hope this helps!
