  The case, first try to find the executable file for Windows Media Player and create a new shortcut from that.

  1. open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer).

  2. navigate to:

  You upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7?

  You can get your username by going to C:\Users\ and find your user name under Windows Vista and C:\Documents and Settings\ for Windows XP.

  We are unable to provide assistance with respect to the recovery of a password.

  If you are able to connect to your machine and have administrator rights, you can then change your password by clicking on start, right-click on computer and choose manage. Open the users section and groups, then users, right click on your account and choose set password.

  I do not want to be mean, but because of the wording, it sounds to me like you have been assigned duties of school and ask others to do your work instead of spending the time to yourself a search.

  I doubt that the Windows Live Solution Center contains a mapping of terms.  Google or Wikipedia would be a better source.

  There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

  There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

  You can contact the manufacturer of your computer, if you have an OEM license and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

  They should do this for a small fee.

  To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:
