where can I get a winows vista home basic startup disk? And can I use a back up from another pc which is vista Home premium?

be necessary to restart the laptop with Vista Home Basic, but do not have a backup, can make a backup of my desktop vista Home premium if it will work?

Hello

You cannot use a backup from a Home Premium computer to reinstall Vista Basic on another computer.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    Hello

No.; If the operating system on the other came computer preinstalled (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) you can't use it on another PC.

If the laptop/computer came with preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), this product key provided with your computer/laptop to the OEM license preinstalled and is not transferable.

OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine.

Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.

  • Program Setup, CQ1-1012AN error. Winows 7 Home Premium

Model CQ1-1012AN. Winows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 32-bit operating system

So far, I was able to install a new software/updates without any problem.

Suddenly, during the installation, I get the error message:

Setup could not create the directory "C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\...tmp". error 5: access denied

The problem manifests itself with a different set of .exe files, I tried.

Is there an easy way to solve this problem?

    Hello

That sounds like a permissions issue, try the following.

It is a utility that will add "Take Ownership" to the contextual right click menu.  The download is on the following link.

    Appropriating

It is a zipped file.  If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip , which can be used to open it so that you can run the Setup program.  Then just right click the folder zipped, select 7 - Zip, select extract files and click Ok.  When you're done, open the newly extracted folder and you can find the utility to add "Take Ownership" to the right click menu.  Double-click it to install it and then close the window.

Then, in the Start Menu, open Control Panel and open Folder Options.  Click the view tab, check the radio button that says "Show hidden files, folders and drives" and then click on apply to save this change.

Browse to the location C\Users\your user name\AppData\Local right-click the Temp folder, and then select 'Take Ownership'

Close all windows open and then click on the Start Menu, open the control panel and open Folder Options.  Click the view tab, check the box titled "do not show hidden files folders", and then click on apply to save this change.

    Reboot the laptop.

I can't open videos or change with Movie Maker.

Is it because I have a Sony Handycam?

He said that there is a lack of "codec". Where can I install the missing codec from?

Very frustrating because I've used it before - maybe because I have SP3? But I don't want to uninstall SP3... :-(

    Help, please!

    Thank you!!

    Thanks for the info.

MPEG files are problematic in all versions of Movie Maker.
Best bet would be to convert the files to the. WMV format
before you import into Movie Maker.

There are many converters available on the net... some
    free... some detail.

The following freeware converter is just one example:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory (freeware)
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
    (the 'direct link' is faster)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup280.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the final screens)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup280.exe out of the folder
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

  • How to install W8 Pro FPP on laptop, where it has been installed W7 OEM Home Premium?

How to install W8 Pro FPP on laptop, where it has been installed W7 OEM Home Premium?
and even if I could reinstall this laptop with W7 license as before?

    See the following topics:

The upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8

    Thanks for the reply, André

but I still confused if I could reinstall my laptop with Windows 7 (where the identical front license) after I installed and try Windows 8 on it?

I suggest that you use the built in recovery tools manufacturers to create a recovery disc or create a system image. I noticed that the upgrade to a later version of Windows can make your inoperable recovery partition.

    Creating a system image:

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/

You can use this to easily restore your installation of Windows 7, if you decide to come back.

I have an old Mac Mini with a DVI Port that came with a VGA DVI-adapter.  Tonight, my monitor went down.  Brand new monitor works with that? Any recommendations? Can I use an adapter?  If yes should which adapter I?

You can use any DVI monitor DVI port directly or have any VGA monitor with the power that you adapter. A HDMI monitor might work with an adapter DVI to HDMI in a pinch, but HDMI tends to be more fickle.

  • I can't get my Windows 7 Home Premium to register...

    Dear Microsoft,

I can't get my Windows 7 to activate. I have Windows 7 Home Premium. It's a full license (in the ' green box'), not an OEM license. Recently, I rebuilt my PC with new hardware and used this window for it. I also have a Windows 7 OEM license tied to my old hardware that is always used with this material. Here are the specs if they are needed:
Old material (with a Windows OEM tied to it):

    1055 t of AMD 6-core Phenom 2
    ASUS m4A87td/usb3 motherboard
    3 x 2 GB (or 6 gb) OCZ RAM

New hardware (with retail Windows ready to use with it, but records do not):
Processor Intel i3 3220 Dual core 3.3 GHZ Ivybridge
    MSI Motherboard Z77 - G45
Kingston Hyperx 2 x 4 (or 8 GB) of RAM

Windows says that it will automatically activate in 2 days. I guess when he tries, it won't work and I will ask you to purchase a new license and I will lose a lot of my windows features, or something in that sense. I need this PC for work and I can't really afford to lose its functionality. I hope I can get this resolved so I did not worry about more...

Thanks in advance from Microsoft (or other),

  • Where can I use my Microsoft Account expiration balance?

I see this was requested, but I don't see a response that helps me.  Only, I logged into my account after a LONG departure.  It seems that I have a balance of $39, but I don't see anywhere that I can use it.  I do not have a Windows phone, or an Xbox.  Where can I spend it then?  I really don't want to lose $39, but it almost looks like what will need to happen unless Microsoft comes in and allows me to use and drop it elsewhere (the Microsoft store so I could at least buy some hardware)...

    Thanks for the help.

  • Can I use a product key from my laptop Windows 7 Home Premium OA on the newly installed window.

I want to restart my laptop. I have a copy of windows 7 Home premium since I bought it for my office of game. If I use the CD to install a new window on my laptop. I am able to use my laptop Windows 7 product key to this topic?

If its licensed OEM System Builder that was never used, Yes. If his license OEM from another computer, no.

As mentioned, the laptop must already include factory restore options that may allow you to reinstall the operating system from scratch.

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".
