Where did my research have to go (Ctrl + F does not work)
Until today, I could search for web pages with Ctrl + F. It stopped working today. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and it still doesn't work. It does not work when I use the Find command.
It is possible that the screen is too high and that the search bar falls to the bottom.
Open the system menu via Alt + space and see if you can resize the window.
If it works, then close Firefox to save the setting.

CTRL + c does not work in ff 25
CTRL + c does not work in 25 FF in normal mode or in safe mode.
I use win 8.1Hello
I have not heard of 25 FF origin of this particular problem, but I've heard other programs such as ZoneAlarm and QTranslate causing the problem on specific versions of Firefox.
For example these two previous requests for support: here and here.
The best way to test it is probably for a boot Windows safe with networking. Then see if you have the same problem in Firefox. If the problem does not appear Windows safe mode, then you can be sure that another application (security software most likely) is at the origin of the problem.
If the issue still seems Windows safe mode then I suggest to try a restart of Firefox:
Firefox - modules to reset and refresh settings
This will return the default settings for Firefox. Your bookmarks and history will be saved, but you will need to reinstall your add-ons.

- topic: config page: layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled = false
You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.
See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

After you have uninstalled McAfee, my Wifi does not work (only works LAN connection)
After you have uninstalled McAfee, my Wifi does not work (only works LAN connection). Troubleshooting message is "windows could automatically bind the ip Protocol to the ip stack.
New Aspire E11, Windows 8.1
Help, please.
Here is how I fixed it:
Go to control panel > network and Internet > network sharing Center
Click on "Change adapter settings" in the left pane.
Right click on your map. Select "Properties".
There will be a box titled "this connection uses the following items."
Uncheck anything that looks like it was installed by a third party (AVG, Avast, ZoneAlarm). In my case, the culprit was 'HTC NDIS Protocol Driver", who was installed by the software of my phone (HTC). Because it's not obvious what to uncheck, here is what I currently have checked in my system of work which should not cause a problem:
KEEP THESE CHECKED:
Client for Microsoft networks
QoS Packet Scheduler
File and Printer Sharing
IP v6
Internet Protocol v4
Driver Link-Layer Topology Discovery map IO
Link-Layer Topology Discovery recallUncheck everything else.
Go to network and sharing, disable and re-enable the adapter.

CTRL key does not work as expected
Original title: keyboard Help! There is a recurring issue going on with my keyboard or very probably my pc...Well first to start with - I use a software type "ventrilo" called "mumble" that uses the 'CTRL' key as a key to talk with others in the same precedente.* *-could be a reasonMy CTRL key seems really screw randomly until that moment, it turn on sticky keys [where ctrl has practically been pressed permanently] even if it is not enabled on the settings... which makes it really difficult to browse web site or use games because I'm unable to type.Even if I try to disable it by using the two keys ctrl - it does not turn off...When I try to copy and paste using my CTRL key left it appears just under the letter c or v when I'm trying to do, but when I do it with my right ctrl - it is successful...* steam question *.I use also a program called "steam" that allows me to talk with others and play some games - but the sticky keys seem to be really stuck on this issue, I am unable to do anything...Whenever I press 'a' after that it is already used once - it will remove 2 characters: example: I type AGT-> and I press 'a' once more-> deletions G and Tor whenever I have press BACKSPACE at all during a conversation of steam, it deletes everything.Urgent W on it also a tab or an im window closed on...pressing V will paste what I had copied at all, and finally pressing z would substitute a letter - for example: za-> type z once more-> towers to zzI hope you understand what I'm talking... help? Thank you...Hello Kent,
Let us make sure that this isn't a keyboard problem. Connect a different keyboard to see if the CTRL key is working. If it works fine, then it is a problem of faulty device. You may need to replace the driver.
If this does not work on the new keyboard, then it must be a setting in the software that you have installed that is causing this problem.
As a work around, I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the keyboard and check if this solves this problem.
1. type of Device Manager in the Start Search box and press on enter.
2. browse the keyboard.
3. right click on the mentioned keyboard driver and select Uninstall.
4. once the driver is uninstalled, restart the computer and check if the problem persists.
Note: Windows will automatically detect the keyboard and install the necessary driver via Windows updates.
If the keyboard print incorrect characters, then try the steps mentioned in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258826
I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Shortcut Ctrl C does not work in the main window of Firefox
I use Firefox version 38.0.5, Windows 7
Since the update Ctrl + C shortcut does not work in the main window of Firefox. (I can't copy text from any website using Ctrl + C).Click right and using the copy in the menu works perfectly. CTRL V and Ctrl X work fine without problem.
Ctrl C works fine when copying text from the address bar and search bar, I just can't copy anything from anything in the main window of firefox.
I tried to run Firefox in safe mode, I have also reset firefox and a virus scanner, but nothing has solved the problem.
If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. Thank you

How to access the address bar via the BT keyboard? (ctrl-l does not work)
Having a whole bluetooth keyboard connected to my Android tablet, I can't really use it well with Firefox, as there is no way to reach the address bar using the keyboard. CTRL-L because it works on the desktop doesn't seem to work on Android tablet.
Is there a different key combination to achieve this, has she been neglected (as is normally not available on Android), or am I missing something obvious?
Are taken in charge for the keyboard shortcuts for entering text. However, you are right that the shortcuts such as ctrl + l do not work. We have an open question on this feature but do not have a precise timetable for its implementation.

Firefox3.6.18, running on Windows XP (all patches from Microsoft), opens with a single tab. By clicking on the tab add '+' or by pressing CTRL T does not open a new tab, even if I open a new window. In addition, when you exit Firefox, my location of the tab is not saved.
Please click the button solved it next to the answer that solved your problem of Firefox support, it appears when you are connected, so this thread is marked as resolved to help other users who may have this same problem.

CTRL + Z does not work in Mozilla
It works on my laptop, even worked on the Opera browser, but in Mozilla does not work. CTRL + C, Ctrl + V work well
Note that Ctrl + Shift + T is the keyboard shortcut to open the last closed tab (history > recently closed tabs).

Hello
I had to use the keyboard rather than the mouse or trackpad pretty much recently due to injury. At the closing of the tabs, CTRL + W seems to do. However, it does not always work. It does not work with PDFs and often on YouTube as well.
What I've read, it's because of the development of collection of plugins. However, isn't there a way to replace it, because it's pretty heavy from the accessibility point of view?
Thank you!
Hello, in regard to a PDF file, you may want to try the extension pdf.js (there could be still some bugs, but it is under very active development) - it makes PDF files with common web technology & shouldn't trap keyboard focus...

T410 CTRL key does not work after update BIOS to 1.45 (German keyboard)
Dear community,
I updated the BIOS of my TP T410 (2522), German keyboard, to 1.45. After the update, both CTRL keys don't work anymore. Ditto for the AltGr key. When I switch to CTRL FN in the FN key BIOS - as supposed - works like the CTRL key. But when I turn off again the FN returns to his good funtion and CTRL does not work.
When I connect an external keyboard via USB it works perfectly.
Any suggestions how get the CTRL key works again?
Best regards, Simon
