  If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

  So in general all devices, Toshiba, s CD, etc. can be ordered and purchased from authorized service provider.

  So just to say, communicate with the guys from the services in your country and you will get the new recovery CD :)

  Very strange that s why you received the Toshiba XP CD recovery and not the Vista recovery CD?  :|

  Generally, if the laptop has been pre-installed with Vista then you should get the recovery CD Toshiba with Vista OS.

  In case you I would contact the ASP in your country to get the Vista recovery CD

  This model of laptop is fairly new, and I imagine that it will be difficult to get the new motherboard. Of course, you can order one by authorized service provider, but it will be expensive.

  Have you checked eBay? With a little luck, you'll find a L40 with faulty display or any other hardware problem. Maybe using two defective notebooks, you can have one that works correctly. ;)

  By the way: I assume you want to disassemble without maintenance manuals. Be careful!

  For now, Toshiba does not support 64-bit operating system and the drivers for Vista 64-bit are not available.

  If you wish, you can purchase Microsoft 64 - bit Windows Vista Ultimate DVD facilities and try to install it on your laptop Portege.

  The case split and so have hinges, I tried literally all over the internet without success.
  My screen works absolutely fine but the carter plastic broken and hinges seem to be like gold dust to get the replacement.

• Where to get the recovery disks?

  So I kinda messed up...

  I wanted to see if a clean install would be better than the standard configuration on my E420s. I thought I could do a factory reset of the disc "Lenovo_Recovery." But it seems that I should have burned the recovery discs until I formatted my E420s.

  I don't quite know what to do now. Can I get the Lenovo recovery discs? Or in the store where I bought my laptop?

  I called Lenovo and I am very impressed with their support. They were very friendly and they send me FREE recovery disks. Awesome
