  Crucial.com = Memory Configurator, max 8 GB

  I think the max is 12 GB (4 GB in slot 2 and the option to add a 8 GB RAM module)

  The laptop is probably a SATA I sort of SATA drives (not SATA II) should work on the laptop. I think that any SATA 160 GB hard drive should work.

  All this started when my Xbox360 is dead, sent it for repair, came home another, all hung up and tried to connect to the Media Center. Of course, it did not work and the screen says to uninstall?   Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  I would like to know if you read this article for the hotfix rollup: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/900325.  In particular the section more information, which has this:

  If the 886904 update is installed, you must uninstall the 886904 update before you install the Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Otherwise, the installation of .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 will fail.

  To determine whether the 886904 update is installed, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
  2. Click to select the Show updates check box.
  3. In the currently installed programs list, look for the following element:

  1. I tried to install with Windows 7 compatibility. -NO Succeess
  2. I tried to install as administrator (right click Run as administrator) - WITHOUT success.
  3. Every time when I open the installer, he don't ask me to redownload the Setup, which makes me believe that he jumps right to the installer downloaded previously, which the Setup file stored somewhere!
  4. I uninstalled and reinstalled SEVERAL times and did a reset later.

  I have reason to believe that this file is corrupt because it did not download the full 30 MB as indicated by the program.
