More precisely in the device memory. Not in the media card or the SIM card.

It is where they are stored by default and cannot be changed.

You can save contacts to your SIM card, but only one number per name, no address, no email address, etc.

  • My address book contacts have disappeared since the upgrade to El Capitan. Where are they?

Hi, I upgraded to El Capitan yesterday and all the contacts in my address book Thunderbird disappeared. The AddressBook is completely empty. In addition, he didn't even address on the left hand books, for example "personal address book" etc. My contacts are stored on my computer? If so, where they are located and how can I get back to my address book? I've been adding contacts for a few years. When I compose email, email addresses are auto-fill in the field of composition, so it seems they are still out there? Thank you.

    Open the address book window.

Select the Directory to display-layout pane

  • When you rename an address book via the properties, I see is no longer the new address book in my list. Where at - it go?

I have about 30 different address books. Some of them where the old but I didn't want to delete them. I wanted them more at the top of my list I'm went to properties and adds 'z' - the name of the folder to the bottom of the list. Now, I can't see the address books that I have renamed. What happened to them and how to make them come back?

    Excellent news.
You did exactly the correct changes in the right places.
You could see that the description of file name for the file .mab was missing - the string was empty and if the actual address book is not in your address book list, even if it still existed in the profile folder.
Good to hear everything is now sorted.

  • How can I create a separate address book? I'm not on a mailing list but an address book where addresses are not mixed with my usual address b

How can I create a separate address book? I'm not on a mailing list but an address book where addresses are not mixed with my address book regularly. I already have three created for me by Thunderbird address books. Add all new addresses to one of those, I'm not afraid to remove the other address books, because some of their addresses are not repeated in my address book "main". So if I delete all the names in one of the existing books, I need to create a blank book that will not mix the addresses with those of an another address book. HOW CAN I CREATE AN ADDRESS BOOK EMPTY? I want to be able to create multiple mailing LISTS using the addresses in this new book, I will eventually have an address book special with a variety of mailing lists, that I can use as I want to.

In the address book, file | New | Address book.

No menu showing "file"? F10 or ALT.

    Method 1.
    a. Locate the .wab file. To do this, click Start, point to find and then click files or folders.
    b. in the named box, type *.wab and then click Find now.
    c. copy the file username.wab into the folder that you created in step 2, where username is the name or alias of the Outlook Express user that the .wab file belongs.
For more information about how to copy a file, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type copy and then double-click the files or folders topic.

  • Somehow, I lost my additional address books when I imported a .csv file. They where all there and I can't find the other 2 so pls help

I had provided both with Thunderbird and I imported a new address book via .csv. Everything was good until somewhere, I closed this address book and the other two have disappeared. What could have happened, or how can I get these back?

The two default in Thunderbird address books are staff and collected books. Neither of these can be deleted, so I have to guess that you turned off the directory pane in the window of the sort address book and simply cannot see them.

    Open the address book window.
In the menu bar select pane display-in page-directory

If you do not have a menu bar display in address book address book window, press the alt key to make it appear.

  • where are the other address books I've had? Now, staff only

The original PAB was unused, and I had a different address book Yahoo Griffith. I downloaded a lot of data to that. She and one other historical address book disappeared with the last update. I'm totally clogged upward with the lost addresses. Help to find the old book. The reason of personal old serves do not is that he did not follow my sent emails.

Don't know what you are or do not see.

When you open the address book window you have the directory pane displayed with your listed address books?

Directory of display-layout pane light it if it's not show now.

By default, the personal address book is to add the contacts that you use most. Collected address book is that collecting the addresses of your outgoing messages. This can be changed, but I can't think of a good reason to add all of the addresses starting for the personal book. You can always go through the collected book and move all the important addresses in your main book periodically.

One last guess, you are missing the sidebar contact in your writing window when you try to create a new email? Press F9 to turn on.

  • Thunderbird address book

After put them in a new drive hard and download & installation, Firefox and Thunderbird, I have no idea where my address book is on the old HD that I still have access to via another computer. Is it possible to capture, export or retrieve our old address book?

All your emails, settings, the module, accounts and pwd etc is stored in a hidden subdirectory
In win 7 her in: 'Drive': \Users\ 'Win - username' \AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\ 'profile name' , where profile name is a random name, often with the extension .default.

Installation of an add-on ImportExportTools would give you the opportunity to import everything more. If you cannot access your old straight profile, copy the entire old profile to a stick or a memory card.

  • How to save your address book

How do I back up my address book.

    Hello

If you open your address book, select all address books on the left side, then select Tools, then export, you have the opportunity to back up the address book in a format, you can restore at a later date.

If you want to make a copy of your address book, select the address book in question (or all address books), and then select file where you will be able to see the address book of Print and Print Preview address book options.

If you want to save your emails and calendar entries, you can take a backup of your Thunderbird profile. You can read how to do that here.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look at another solution for you.

  • How can I set up two e-mail accounts with their own address book from Thunderbird?

I have two people with a new office of 8.1 to win that they share. Everyone has their own email accounts. I installed Thunderbird on their old XP desktop, created their accounts and copied the profile of Thunderbird in the XP box to the new box of 8.1. Both accounts have been set up in Thunderbird, including the default accounts of Outlook Express WAB address book. The second individual had their own unique AddressBook in OE and wants its own address book (not a mailing list) when she wrote and email. In the Thunderbird AddressBook in the 8.1 box, I created a new address book for each of them. How import the WAB OE unique that I exported from OE in every address book unique individuals in Thunderbird?

I don't know much about the WAB files, then try this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/989835

Now, that, if it works, allows to import address books.

Your next question is multiple users.

Thunderbird is designed around the assumption that, at any time unique, a BONE fide user is recorded in the computer and will have their own profile. Thus, each user has his own user account (in the operating system) and each will have its own personal records, including their profile of Thunderbird. Everyone will see only their own message box and their own address book.

There is no support in Thunderbird to distinguish different users. It is based on the profile appropriate being on hand.

If your two users don't mind seen each and other books addresses, then you can import them both. It won't be easy to stop one user to accidentally pull Contacts from the address book on the other.

You have anticipated the situation by creating separate address books to the front. In practice, you will create new address books when you import CSV files. But you can leave it as it is and drag and drop Contacts from imported address books to where you want later.
