Oh THIS kind of hard disk. No, you do not have a. You can get a DVD burner external usb for not much money. If you have another computer with a hard drive, you can copy the contents of the disc to a Titanium flash drive, with a little more effort, you can make the disc on another computer available to the Sleekbook on a network or you may download the files of titanium on the Internet and use the key on the drive they gave you when it exists.

If this is not the case, how to destroy the hard drive? Where is the hard drive?

I understand that you have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-one printer you plan to elimination and you wonder if the hard disk is encrypted and how to destroy the hard drive. I would like to help with that.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-one printer don't have a hard drive. It contains a very small amout of memory, so it can keep in memory the printer and fax settings.

You can clear the memory by restyoring the printer back to the default values.

    1. on the printer Panel, select Setup.

    2. from the Configuration menu, select Tools.

    3. on the Tools menu, select Restore Factory Defaults.

I have an old HP PSC 750 printer I have is going to be recycling and want to destroy the hard drive for security reasons.  Where is the hard drive and how I will destroy?

    Hello @Dotsie99, greetings!

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, HP experts and other support staff.

I appreciate that you try to throw your old printer and worries about the security of the data.

You don't need to worry about your printer HP PSC 750 with no any hard drive. None of the PSC series and none of the Photosmart printers that use two or more cartridges have a hard drive.

The printer does not store the printed pages. So please go ahead and have the printer.

  • Satellite L650-11F: where are the backup information stored on the HARD drive

    Hello.

My original Toshiba HDD is a failure and I had to replace it with a new one. I haven't had any recovery DVDs until Windows stopped booting and try to avoid buying one.

I thought that I copy just my recovery Partition and the master boot record on the new HARD drive which worked well. However I find that this hidden restore partition has only 400 MB and so cannot possibly contain all the necessary information to restore the system.

I have boot from it, but I don't get any options to restore the default settings. It scans only for problems with Windows, runs a few tests on my records and presents me with advanced options that I can't go because I'm not connected.

I went searching all about and know that ELSEWHERE THE PARTITION RECOVERY that you still need your Windows partition for recovery work.

It seems just really stupid because most people will try to restore their default values after damage to their windows (deleted files accidentally or whatever).

What is the point of keeping a partition hidden with just enough to Prime the system, but then require that certain parts of their partition original windows remains intact in order to restore?

What I'm trying to know is exactelly what part (files) do I need to restore my computer. I tried to copy the Windows partition on the new disk but its too damaged and he'll take it apart if I try to copy some files or to copy directly (using linux dd or ddrescue).

I am able to copy some of the unique files, so with little chance I might be able to copy everything that I need. I can't copy the part of the Windows folder however.

So any1 know where the backup information is stored or has other ideas?

Thank you in advance and please excuse my bad English.

    Hello

At first, I must say that your biggest mistake was not not to create recovery discs. With these discs you didn t now have a stupid problem.
Anyway, in my opinion, only option for you is now buy original Toshiba Recovery disk and install Recovery on the new HARD disk image.

I put t know how to start the discussion with you and try to offer some answers. Is Toshiba doesn t create recovery CD/DVDs more and original recovery image is saved on the HARD drive. At first he was saved on the second partition of HARD drive and visible for laptop owners. Many people have deleted and do some experiments with these files for recovery. Later after the screwing up of most of them wondered why the recovery installation doesn t work anymore and blaming Toshiba for non-working HARD drive recovery facility.

You need to just check this forum and see how many comments you can find here all this.

I think that was the reason why Toshiba has decided to save this image on a hidden partition to avoid such things. Please note that this image of hidden recovery is designed for your laptop only and can be used if your laptop has the factory settings. Any type of change may result with missing option to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.

Problem is that people don't read the operating manuals and don t understand how it works. To avoid any situation where the installation of the HARD disk can't start or failure HARD disk Toshiba strictly recommended recovery DVD creation. I m wondering really you didn't create these disks.

At this point, I would like to repeat what I think: you will not be able to do anything, except by using the original installation disc of recovery. To be honest, it is cheap and costs 30 euros. Don t waste your time to play, buy, install the OS, and be happy.

    Bye and good luck

    Hello I have an A300 system 9 1M unit.

I need to restore the HARD drive recovery partition, I had to change the hard disk drive, because he's dead.

    Hello

When I fixed my windows, I chose "Restore Factory Setting" options.
This happens to reformat my hard drive and I lose the "TOSHIBA HDD Recovery" image.

Is it possible to create this image again?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

The use of the Toshiba HDD image would format the HARD drive, but should not remove the Toshiba HDD image files that are stored on the second partition!
That's why I put t know why you said you lost the image of Toshiba HDD.
    That is a little strange.

On the other hand, you can try to create the recovery disk using tool of preinstalled Toshiba Toshiba recovery disc Creator called.
This tool helps you to create the recovery disk using Toshiba image files stored on the second partition.
I think you should try this.

  • Subset of files stored on the hard drive suddenly missing in LR

My photos are stored on an external hard drive. My LR catalog is on my computer (a Macbook Pro). I upgraded LR 5 to 6 a month ago. No problems. I use LR a lot, and when I leave, I always save the catalog.

For reasons that I don't understand not at all, Lightroom is suddenly not showing all records dating from February 2016 photo. That is, the pictures I imported before then are all present and reported in detail. But all the pictures I imported (and published!) of February at the present time are missing from the library. I checked the hard drive and the image files are still there.

Of course, I don't want to re - import the missing photos (in thousands of them) and lose all my changes.  And I can't ask to Lightroom to find missing photos because they do not appear in the library. I am so at a loss for what to do.

I'll never be able to understand what has happened to the latest version of the catalog, but I opened an earlier version and all missing records reappeared. I'm very relieved. I lost only a handful of changes.

Recovery of DNG issue: I have photos stored on an external hard drive which have previously been imported into Lightroom and converted to DNG.  The laptop on which I was running Lightroom died and I had to replace the hard drive and rebuild the computer.  In the process of my Lightroom program and catalog related to these images have been lost.  When I re-associate these photos with my new installation of Lightroom and a new catalogue is there a way to retrieve the keywords or other changes or metadata catalogue Mountaga?  Is any of this information embedded with the imge DNG file or was it only in the cataloght lost on my failing hard drive? I re-import just as if it were new images with no prior treatment of Lightroom?

By default, LR saves all changes in the catalog, and that applies to any type of file.

Optionally, you can save changes to the file as well, for raw files owners, this will create a xmp file - for DNG that changes are going to be cooked in the file, without additional xmp file.

But it does not default. Go to the catalog and parameters under the control of metadata automatically save changes to XMP.

Unless you do this, the changes are saved only in the catalog.

    Hope this makes things clearer.

  • I wonder if Malware can circulate and operate on my computer in the same way as LoJack where it can not be removed by simply erasing the hard drive.

    Hello!
If I understand it, when the LoJack software is loaded on
a computer (leave a CD/DVD) somehow or other, a change is made to
the BIOS chip. In turn, this translates into a situation that even if the
hard drive is wiped away, the product survives and can still call home.

Now, if LoJack for this, as I have suggested in the past, why not a
specifically designed * malware * do exactly the same thing if it was
planted on a CD/DVD which a user deliberately 'responsible' for an individual
goal? For example, a CD used to install drivers for a printer, or
Perhaps, a CD ordered by mail to install Windows XP SP2?

    Serious question.

  • Trying to fix my DESIRE - 7227cl where the hard drive is faulty

If my hard drive refurbished ENVY - 7227cl is a failure after a huge 4 months and I just happens to start on windows 8 and a few minutes, it freezes and blocks. I ran to check the hard drive in the boot menu, and he gave a failure code. I would like to install a new hard disk at the lowest possible cost, but I'm new on this and HP is no help whatsoever.

What are my best options I have did not save recovery CD?

Is it possible to install a second hard drive on my machine and try to copy the first hard disk in the second? I didn't really NEED the files on the first hard drive, so I could just install a new, but then the question of installing windows without a key.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can connect a drive hard usb to the laptop and copy files.

An alternative is to remove the optical drive and connect a hard disk in its place (it's certainly a bit of a hack job ).

Another alternative is to connect a drive hard usb on the laptop and up to a Ubuntu OS on a usb key.

  • Copy of the hard drive. Where can I get an "edge" 44 HARD drive to a connector 44 flat plug adapter round pins?

Hello. Anyone know how to copy the contents of a hard drive of 80 GB MK8026GAX Toshiba HDD2191 d ZK01 T to a computer? This record came from a laptop Dell Insipiron PP12L defective 6000. The HARD drive has a 44 pins connector flat male edge. I can't find any adapter that will connect this edge connector 44 flat pins at all normally used 2.5 "or 3.5" round connector pins. I have a new technology USB 3.0 Universal Drive Adapter kit, but it requires 44 pin round connector.

If you know an adapter that can connect edge connector 44 pine flat female to connector 44-pin round, please let me know.

My approach to copy HDD content is incorrect. Maybe you have a suggestion for a way to copy the contents of the HARD drive above?

    Thank you in advance,

    AdamWie

    Hi Osprey4,

Thank you for your response. I found an adapter that transforms the connector 44 flat pins female connector 44 round pins. The only thing to do now is to get 44 male connector 44 round pins round pin connector cable or adapter, but this should be easy. Thank you for helping me to solve my problem of HARD drive.

    Kind regards
