Where to change the settigs in xp pro.w/sp3. My pc does not recognize the dvd - rw that I put in. Have tried to reinstall, update and system restore. HELP PLEASE

HELP, I tried a lot of things.

OK lets see windows xp pro. with sp3, all updates are installed.

This is an old pc he had a CD in it, and I replaced it with another pc, in working condition.

I think it's maybe in the settings, I don't know the right one for a change.

Parameter is not what you are referring to. The rider is wrong, the dvd device does not work or it is possible that the drive is disabled in the system BIOS, although I seriously doubt that.

Please tell me how your drives are connected for example... IDE or SATA? If the IDE is the disk device and hard dvd connected on the same cable IDE? Tell me what is the position of the rider is on the hard drive and the dvd device. CS, master or slave.

  • Satellite Pro L500-1 t 5 - does not recognize battery

My new Ii received only today) computer laptop Satellite Pro L500 does not recognize the battery. I can't turn it on without AC. When the AC is turned on, the battery LED lights up orange for 20-30 seconds and then turns off, and Windows 7 says, that there is no battery.

I read on this forum, that I can put my battery in, while the windows is already happening and I tried, he founded the battery for 20-30 seconds and starts to load, but that she doesn't even once is not the battery. I checked the BIOS version, 1.90. It's a more later, as I understand it, isn't?

What can I do with it? It's hardware problems and I should post in the service or can I fix it somehow?

    Hi Ponny,

What happens if you leave the AC adapter plugged in for 24 hours or overnight and then you start the laptop without an AC/DC adapter? On the first charge, it takes a little longer until the battery is fully charged.

If that doesn t work, you need to contact the store where you bought it or authorized service provider. In this case, you should get a new battery free.

  • Carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S does not recognize movie DVD on Satellite Pro A100

    I have a portable Satellite Pro A100-PSAAPE.

Initially the played DVD movies very well, but now it does not recognize DVD movie at all.

The drive itself is recognized and works very well with recovery DVD and CD-ROM.

Phone support: they had me reinstall the driver and boot from the recovery DVD. This does not solve the problem. They then said to do a system restore. Tried, but it seems that the previous restorations of system are in themselves unsuccessful and the restoration of the system that has worked has not solved the problem.

MediaPlayer and Intervideo WinDVD seem to work well, but do not find the DVD in the drive.

They advise now reinstall me to factory setting, but don't want to build the laptop up to scratch etc, so I'm hoping that there may always be a solution.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you

    Best wishes

    Hello

You understand that you must specify if it is a hardware or software problem.
Unfortunately, you can find this secret only using recovery DVD (CD).
Toshiba recovery installation will define the laptop back to the factory settings. In this case you may find whether or not the CD/DVD device is defective.

If the player will not play the DVD after the reinstallation of the operating system, then chances are that it is a CD/DVD drive error.

Since the system restore worked, for a while, it seems that you have a program that can

  • computer does not recognize a dvd in the drive

    Hello

My computer does not recognize the presence of a dvd in one of my two drives, although she acknowledges a CD.  This happens regardless of what dvd I insert.

    Thank you very much

    PAM

Try this;  Restart your computer before trying again the disc that plays on your DVD player.  If this does not work then there is only one possibility;  your DVD drive is DEAD and you need to replace it, or buy an external CD/DVD drive.    He comes to the end of the mystery.

  • Everything on my laptop lost during the night. Seems to be like a new computer with none of my icons, folders, pictures, or whatever it is that I put on here. Don't know what happened! Help, please.

All I can with certainty you know is that I work with this computer laptop 9 Feb and finished updating a blackberry phone while I arrived he began to countdown a restart down to the right and I just let it continue to countdown, as I have before installing updates could.  I sat down and closed the monitor.  No has nothing do with computer laptop lastnight, but turned on tonight and most of my icons were missing.  According to me, the wallpaper is different from the front and I got on the internet as usual without any problem.  When I got off the internet to work with pictures of my newborn (only child), the only icon I had on the desktop is Ebay.  Not as if I had everything set up.  I then went to images and he had only the file sample.  Having felt that I would be sick then tried to look for some other stuff that I had in the records and doesn't seem to be anything anywhere.  Please help if you can.  This laptop is a Dell Studio, which is less than 5 months old.  Please help before my wife kills me for all our photos backup not.

Thanks much for the advice, but I found where some updates have not been filled and after several reboots and updates processing everything on my desk, changed again the way I got it.  In fact, I went to C: users and then myself, then all my documents, pictures, ets. was there, so I later found lastnight it wasn't lost, just moved for some reason any.  I then started to look to check the status of the updates pushed out and there are service packs that has not been installed, so I crossed my fingers and agreed to allow them to install and went to bed.  Now computer seems to be back to my settings.  But thank you very much for answering.  It was the first time that I've already posted a question b/c that I generally find the answers online, but it was getting the best of me.  Probably b/c of the thought of losing all my photos only Childs and thinking of how my wife would react.  Thank God it worked.  Thanks again.

  • LaserJet Pro 1606dn: HP Support Assistant does not recognize my Pro Laserjet 1606

    My printer has a problem.

It is connected via an Ethernet cable and a router for three computers.  He works very well until yesterday when it ceased to print jobs sent to it, but no error message showed on the computer that sent it, and the document showed that the impression in the queue.  I deleted the jobs and tried to print a Test Page from the control panel.   The printer then crossed the entire stack of paper in the tray for printing a single line of gibberish at the bottom of each page!

Then, a message appeared when I selected the printer icon in Control Panel that he needed attention, but gave no indication of the problem.

I downloaded and reinstalled the latest version of the driver and also the HP "Support Assistant" software.  However, the help Wizard can not find the device cannot start if even a diagnosis.  However, if I remove the device and then reinstall Windows recognizes it, although this problem did not correct the issue.

Where should I go from here?

    Hello @ChrisTee,

It is a great place to get help! I read your post and see that the printer keeps printing gibberish. I want to help you solve this problem.

Clear the record of spool and restart the print spooler.

Clear printer spooler files and select the Spooler Service.
In desktop mode, press the Windows key and R at the same time, to show the command line run.
1 type "Services.msc" (without the quotes).
    2. double-click on "Printer Spooler" in the Services list.
    3. click on stop, and then click OK.
    4. navigate to '% WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers', right-click on the document and left click to delete the job.
5 run "Services.msc" (without the quotes).
6 double click on "Printer Spooler" in the Services list.
    7. click on start. In the Startup Type list, make sure that "Automatic" is selected and click OK.

Disable bidirectional Support on each computer to see if that helps.

Devices and printers, click with the right button on the printer and click on printer properties.

    Click the Ports tab.

    Bidirectional support uncheck activate.

    Click on apply and OK.

I submitted this document to a few steps to try, to see if it will solve the problem: solve strange, deformed or illogical text, printing incomplete, or lack of text or graphics.
