• Student graphic designer - which Mac?

  Hey everybody!

  I'm a university student who has two years left in front of her. My laptop is almost the end of his life, and I want to transfer via a certain type of Mac. I do a lot of design work, and as tempting as an iMac, I need it to be portable for my graphic design work of campus.

  So I guess that, to start: MacBook, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro? Research online, I have done so far, I still see talk about the MacBook Pro, but if there is a case to make for others I would be more than happy to hear them!

  Taking the example of the good MacBook Pro, where should I go from there? Obviously being a student and hoping to eventually get an iMac on the road, I'm not looking for the most expensive thing out there (a big reason why I'm looking for a 13 inch instead of a 15-inch.. but I would like to though), so even if I hope it would be a little cheaper than that, lets just use like $1,500 as a max.

  When I think about my use of the laptop, what I really use it is Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (when I hope that this new Mac so I will seek to get the creative cloud), Microsoft Office, Chrome and Spotify. So what should I search for storage and Memory-wise? What 128 vs 256 a big different in my case? What 8 GB vs 16GB of memory?

  Consider getting the small screen, then adding a much larger external display (non-portable).

  That allow you better portability and always give you a good amount of space on the screen once you have gotten to a workplace or your apartment or dorm.

  Any Apple computer will travel as well as any other. If you do not create, modify, or store content get the computer cheapest you can find. If I were you I visit an Apple store and try the various displays. Your browsing experience may be affected by the display that you get with your computer.

  Hi, I'm a software engineer. I worked as a plsql developer / developer oracle for more than 2 years.
  This time my project used oracle 9i. I am aware of all databases sql, fundamental pqsql and architecture of oracle 9i db.
  However, in order to improve and to have skills I think taking certification oracle (OCA) or 10 g or 11 g.
  
  Could someone please tell me that which to choose? I know that 10g is widespread on the market, and 11g is probably made its way into the market.
  I'm confused on the choice of examination - OCA 10 g or 11g OCA?

  I would say get get Oracle Developer OCA and OCP Certifiactions first, then if you go back and study DB 11g OCA admin go ahead.

  Developer certifications are not so dependent on Oracle Version what are the DBA Certifications and you should fly through them pretty quickly.

  Consider the exam 1z0-047(SQL certified expert) and 1z0 - 051

  Then ideally 1z0-144 (or as a relief 1z0-147) - gets you OCA.
  1Z0 - 146 - then gets you developer OCP.

  one that you choose (developer or DBA) its usually do better one of the 1z0-007/047/051 first.

• Apple Watch unlock Mac Setup Frustration

  I own a first generation of Apple Watch and an end 2013 13 "MacBook Pro and last mac mini (i5). I went through the entire setup process to have my watch unlock my MacBook several times. (All along the) When I get to choose the button "Allow your Apple Watch unlock your Mac", it runs for awhile and then I get the "unable to contact Apple Watch" fast. It seems to be my watch because if I try and let the Apple Watch locked, she'll tell me to unlock, and then try again. Happens on MacBook Pro and mac mini in the same way.

  I tried to research on this problem and we tried all authentication reset to two factors for an agreement again all settings and turn it on again.

  Any thoughts?

  I appreciate that you try to unlock your two computers using your Apple Watch with watch OS 3.  The resources below provide the steps and requirements to do this.  I would just try it with a single computer until you have a job before trying the second computer.

  I know that you need a Mac 2013 or later with Mac OS, a Apple Watch with watch OS 3 and two factor authentication (not two authentication step) to activate this feature, but for some reason, it does not appear in my system preferences.

  My old MBPro is full and my iCloud and I would like to delete older backups of the iPhone. Tutorials on how to remove them from my MBPro and iCloud would be greatly appreciated!

  Looks like you're wanting to remove some backups of the iPhone to your computer and your iCloud storage.

  Delete, view, or select what is included in iCloud backup

  1. On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, tap Settings.
  2. Scroll down and tap on iCloud > storage > storage management.
  3. Tap to choose a backup. Then you can see more details about it, choose the information to back up, * or delete the backup.

  Delete backups

  1. Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
     Windows: Choose Edition > Preferences. Learn how transform in menus Windows 7 and 8.
  2. Click devices.
  3. Choose the backup you want to delete. If you have multiple devices or backups, hover the mouse on the backup for more details.
     
  4. Choose the backup to delete, and then confirm.

  My 1 TB time capsule was too small for the full backup so I just bought a 6 new to WD "My Book for Mac" and have now a new back up, but it won't backup time as usual. I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Can anyone who thinks that the reason for what I fear not having a reliable backup. The problem with the new hard drive external or is - a problem with EL Capitan?

  There are several factors that could influence the automatic backup. Please follow the steps in the link below to fix this problem:

  If you cannot back up or restore your Mac with Time Machine

  In addition to these measures, hourly backups could be affected by your sleep Macs and power Nap settings, depending on which Mac you use. To ensure that your hourly backups are finished, set your Mac sleep to a longer period time. For testing purposes, try to set the duration of sleep at least 1 hour. You can do this in system preferences > energy saver.

  In addition, if you use a portable Mac, make sure that it is connected to power during the tests to see if hourly backups work. See the link below to view information on how Power Nap works and how it can affect Time Machine.

  I see that you are getting a message "that there is no link. I can help you.

  Check the connections, if you are using a USB cable.

  Try a different USB cable, if you have one available.

  Fix permissions of the drive on the Mac:

  Close all applications.

  In the Apple menu, click OK, click Applications, and then click utilities.

  Double-click disk utility.

  Highlight your hard drive / partition on the left.

  Click on check and then repair disk permissions.

  Restart the computer...

  Reset the printing system:

  Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.

  Click the Apple icon, and then click System Preferences.

  Click on printers and scanners.

  Make a right click (or Ctrl + click) in the left white side panel, and then click Reset printing system.

  Click OK to confirm the reset.

  Type the name and the correct password.

  Click OK to reset the printing system.

  Then click on the + sign to add the driver, you may need to click the drop down menu to select the name of the printer, and then click the Add button.

  I'm including a document to help determine which version of Mac OS you are using:

  I suggest to remove the printer from your printing system, using this document: uninstalling the software of the printer.

  Once you have deleted, I suggest to check and repair disk permissions: function to fix the permissions of all utility disk drive.

  I also run your Apple updates: OS x: Mac App Store apps and OS X update

  After the updates, I recommend you to reinstall HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer - drivers N911a.
