While working several new tabs can be opened and rendered active. Why?

Something is opening new tabs and windows in Firefox and making them active. I suspect the cookies. I tried 2 methods to remove all cookies. They reappear. I have reset Firefox. I deleted all the cache. I have run tests of Zonealarm and PC Matic.
Thus, three questions.
There's something in the registry of the cause?
Someone got this and find out what caused it?
How can I delete all cookies?
Thanks for your time.
Keith

I checked on the extensions and found both

    lEssa2Paay 1.9 ([email protected])
   toPbuyer 4.1 ([email protected])

I removed the and the popups appear to have stopped. Thank you for your tips. I intend to monitor closely.
