White lights on Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition (2 TB) is flasshing

Hello

I am new to this community and unable to post a comment.

I have a Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition (2 TB), its not start. Flashing white lights on the NAS. I can't ping the ip address of my SIN, but I am not able to FTP/open it.

If I reboot the drive several times I am able to FTP but not able to http it.

These products are on warranty and tech support advised to reimage the firmware, but I'm afraid that my data will be lost.

Is there anything else I can do to solve this problem.

Samrat Sharma

Hello Andrew,.

Thanks for your reply. I tried to connect the NAS to my computer but I don't have an ip address other than the IP address of my own system.

Well, I tried to reimage using the tool provided by technical support, it solved my problem and the interesting thing is that my data is also available and it did not wipe out.

I follow a few more days and will let you know if the problem persists.

  • 2 TB Cloud Edition - Gone of the Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive network

Yesterday morning, I was able to copy a video file from my laptop into the HMND2. Once it finished copying I clicked on another folder within the HMND2 and he just spun and spun. I stopped and started the HMND2 and waited for it to be available. As soon as it was available (could see through the network and the Manager), each share folder was empty and use above shows nothing. Please indicate what are my first steps? The unit is still under warranty. TIA.

    Hi bmorehoo,

If you stop the power off while he was between processes, it could cause errors on the disk or device. I recommend contacting technical support as you are covered by the warranty and support is free.

I have an of Western Digital HARD drive with my system of operating XP Home 32-bit installed on my primary C: drive.

I have run the Diagnostics tool online to WD for the reader who found intractable errors on the disc, which indicates an imminent drive failure and an email their technical support confirms the disk needs to be replaced SOON before she completely fails.

I copied all personal off the drive failed on another drive good files and am now ready to remove the failed drive and install a new replacement main primary HDD and then reinstall my XP Home on it - so - until I started to do this thinking, I would ask for tips in anticipation of a smooth, re - install on the new drive.

I got a 25 character key and proof of 8-character license key. There is a Microsoft sticker on the back of the pc (that I do not see to read right now, but its there).

So, I remove the old drive and fit the replacement drive and this format and then install my XP Home - can we see a particular problem with activation?

    concerning

Depending on whether you have a recovery CD suitable for activation key for your sticker or not, there are three possible courses of action. Each activation of the path should not be a problem unless this procedure has been done several times or your 25-character key fell into the wrong hands.

If you have a recovery CD

If you do not have a recovery CD

I hope that your original drive will have a recovery partition or the means to create a recovery CD. If you can create recovery media do now. In the contrary case and the original disc has a recovery partition make a clone of the original hard disk sector by sector to your new car now. If the clone is successful, i.e., that there are no unreadable sectors, is perhaps the best way to proceed in any case, especially if your PC is in good health other than the imminent failure of your HARD drive. If the clone does not work out, you can always fall back on the new installation. The advantage of a clone is that there is no re-setup software to (updates Windows or Office to give just two examples) and didn't need to be restored. I paid for the partitioning/cloning software and have no experience of all freebies out there to make recommendations, perhaps 10crackers can help with this.

If you have managed to create a recovery media, you can use it instead of cloning.

If you clone successfully you can just use it as is, or use the built-in recovery partition that you just cloned to do a clean install.

If you don't have a recovery media and cannot create an and is unable to successfully clone

You will have to contact the manufacturer of your PC to see if they can provide recovery media.

  • Reinstall win 7 home after replacing hard drive

HP Pavilion dm4 3050us. Had to replace the hard drive. Installed SATA 320 GB WD Blue. Now when I try to install HP, cannot complete installation is the message. There is something to be changed in the bios? Origianl drive was a Hitachi, but I have no idea of the size

    Hello

The problem is the fact that the original HDD in your notebook is 750 GB and you have replaced this with a 320 GB drive - recovery disks have problems when you try to install on a disk that is inferior in quality to the training they were created from.

There is another solution, you can try.

First of all, don't forget, you can read and write the available 25-character activation key on your label COST.

Then, using another PC, download the Image file for Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit. and save it in your downloads folder.

Once the download is complete, use a program like ImgBurn to write the Image to a blank DVD Windows system file - a guide on this can be found here.

Once the installation disc has been created, typing away at the ESC key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the Setup DVD.  Select the Boot Manager option ( f9 ).  Use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER - if you are prompted to "press any key to continue...". ", do.

During installation, enter the activation key for Windows on demand and when the installation is complete, use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system.

  • How to create a recovery media from HARD drive recovery image?

When I tried to recover a fresh HARD disk recovery Windows, my little son stopped the proccedure by accident.

When I tried to reboot I get the message bootmgr is missing. I have a copy of the HARD drive recovery file but din not creating a restore DVD.
The question is if I do a recovery bootable DVD or USB of file file from the HARD drive recovery file?

    Thank you!!!

There is a method to create the USB bootable recovery DVD or ISO file - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm, but I put t think this will help.

  • large external hard drive for editing fcpx

Hi, a question of two parts:

    1. I was wondering how people manage their media: is it recommended to store the middle on an external hard drive and the reference to it? Or are the libraries & projects also stored on an external drive?

    2. I have about 4 TB of video and want to buy a large external hard drive that is fast enough for 4 k video editing (with proxy or optimized media, single stream, nothing too fancy etc.). I just bought the new iMac 5 k which has connections thunderbolt.

I read a lot about love at first sight vs. speed USB3, disk hard drive gears, RAIDs etc but am not the wisest. I don't want to it is an exaggeration either.

    It would be good enough: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01BBZ4Q0C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8 & psc = 1 & smid = A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Or is it better to use for backup and should I go for the version of TB: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FIYJ7LG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8 & psc = 1 & smid = A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

    Or a USB3 would be pretty quick with a double disc is RAID0? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Book-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBLWE0080JCH-EESN/dp/B00L9 0DX04/ref = pd_sim_147_4? ie = UTF8 & PSC = 1 & refRID = YFMN75KFN652T20XB40B

Price differences are pretty extreme and I know too how much of a real difference it would make to my editing.

I have trouble with my 2010 macbook pro and a portable external hard drive 5400 RPM so would avoid this situation.

    Thanks in advance!

1 - Yes, always put libraries and media on a second fast drive.  Video/audio "data streaming" can bog down the stream of data required by the operating system and the app themselves.  There is limited bandwidth between the CPU and hard drives, as your Internet connection.

RIAD 0 is quite obsolete, stay away from him.  USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt are good enough for 4K editing.  RAID is faster than the single SSD (same).  Spins disks should always be 7200 RPM, even the system drive.  5400 is far too slow.  If you go with RAID, get a 4th unit of Bay, with 7200 RPM drives in a RAID 5 configuration.  MacSales.com has excellent products.  As promises (their RAIDS of you bolt P2 are the fastest on the market) and other well known brands.  I was never a fan of the product line of My Book.

  • Home Media Network HD Cloud Edition firmware upgrade of the system deteriorated

I tried an update of the firmware of the device. He got all the way to reboot and then hung up. Flashing white LED on the front on a regular basis and the web management page will not show anything else that "restart" and a frozen progress bar. The strange thing is, I can mount the drive very well and access the data of all the PC's on my network. It seems that only the management of the reader part is hung up. I wouldn't really care except I like close properly the device since the management web page. Things I've tried: 1) power off with power button 2) factory for 30 seconds reset 3) unplug the power cord nothing had no effect. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Just in case someone of another land here seek to solve this problem, I installed OpenMediaVault on the device by following the instructions icies: http://stefanseidel.info/OpenMediaVault. It took less than an hour and the device is now fully functional. And it is using all software open source! So I'll call that a victory.

  • Iomega Home Media Network, Cloud edition - sharing "is not a valid path.

I have an iomega NAS on my home network and I regularly wind up with Iperius. I now hit a question - if Iperius has treated a few files, it gets the access denied message.

If I can go in the NAS using the storage LenovoEMC Manager, discovers an action, for example one called "Ned backups" and then click "Show content" I get the message "Ned backups is not a valid path,". "

I can solve this problem to reboot the NAS - but there again after starting a return until you get the same problem again.

The NAS has been working well for a number of years.

    Hello Ned-100,

First, back up all critical data.

What you are describing usually boils down to an intermittent problem (mechanical) road.

With a disk drive, the drive is not replaceable by the end user.

To verify the cause of the behavior, you need to contact technical support:
