White screen coming out of hibernation

Have Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell E1505 laptop. Coming from hibernation, the screen is a black screen with a flashing cursor in the upper left of the screen. By pressing the power button / power off then back on starts the laptop bios checks take a few minutes to complete (normally takes seconds) but will then come out of hibernation correctly. Have updated all the drivers that were available. There is no problem coming out of hibernation just to sleep mode.

You can also try the response to a similar thread by Zack who said that sometimes the Boot Configuration data (BCD) file may have questions that raise such errors. Follow the steps below to fix the BCD file.

4. run the following command: bcdedit /deletevalue {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963} inherit

5. test of hibernation.

Thank you for that response, Varun - doing definitely solved the problem for my new laptop Windows 7.

The victory seems to have been short-lived, however. The first restoration of hibernation went very quickly, but since then, it's to her long wait at the black screen, blinking cursor.

Whenever I restart the computer by using the bcdedit steps is obviously not an option.

How can I prevent the computer from doing whatever it is that it is the practice that requires the following steps for normal operation?

Thank you!

You can try

(1) open a Notepad document

Type 2) in what you would do in the shell IE: C:\windows\system32 > bcdedit /deletevalue {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963} inherit

(of course you have to do footwork to track down the of first to varun j postafter do you cut and paste replaceing identifier the identifier you see here with one adapted to your computer)

3) Save as

(4), select all the files

(5) name of file "hibernate_fix.bat" less the quotes of course

6) Save to desktop

(7) running every time you can leave your computer for an extended period

What this does that create a command shell executable that u just double click and itll do on its own as a macro

great thing about this is that you don't need administrator rights you can also pin to the start menu

  • White screen when resume from hibernation when the graph is active (DM4)

I configured and purchased a HP DM4t with 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon (TM) HD 5450 switchable graphicst.  My problem is that when the laptop goes to sleep (for example when I close the lid), it will sleep for a while (I think his suffering at 6 p.m.), after which she'll take back and hibernate itself (hybrid sleep option).  I like this feature because it allows to save battery power, however, when I try to resume from hibernation when the ATI Radeon graphics card is active, all I get is a black screen.  I can connect using the fingerprint reader, (I hear Windows making the connected to the carillon), but I don't see anything on my screen.  If I do this same scenario using the Intel graphics card, I will not have this problem.

I called HP tech support and their solution was to disable hybrid sleep feature.  I was not satisfied with this solution, because it does not save the battery of the laptop must sleep for a long time.  My solution is to disable auto graphics card change, and I just go to the ATI Radeon manually if necessary.  The problem with my solution is that it forces me to remember to turn off the discrete graphics when I'm actually (I tend to forget).

Is there a solution to this problem that will allow me to use the gfx ATI card AND the hybrid auto sleep function?

I was finally able to update ATI graphics driver on my laptop.  This seems to have solved my out of the hibernation problem.  The version of the driver that I'm on is 8.741.1.1000 with a date of version of 21/06/2010.

  • Y580 - white screen of death?

I recently bought a used Y580. He had 3 USB ports (USB 3.0 I guess) does not screen had stopped coming on or even turning the power on, and an external monitor would work on this subject. When I first turned it on, the Lenovo logo came on the screen for one second and then he went. It was a cold start.

First, I replaced the screen, which I should have known was not the problem because he came once. No improvement.

Secondly, I replaced the cable from the monitor, which, again, I should have known was not the problem because he came once.

That made it worse. Now, when I turn on the machine, the screen has no power for about 20 or 30 seconds. Then he powered away and turns very slowly to the white suit. It's as if the screen is all pixels turn slowly until they are all on, all white. I did two times but decided to turn it off for the sake of fear that I have would be detrimental to the screen.

Oh, one last thing. When I opened it to the top, I found that someone had already been in the laptop and the right monitor hinge was broken. Screw external incoming in this area would not go out (just spun) and internally, the motherboard was missing a screw from the hinge. Then when I opened the upper part, the hinge support finished braking ripped off and came all the way upward and out of the Assembly section. There is a black wire that goes over there, but it is not connect on the screen in any way that I can see. I was wondering if it was a kind of ground, and when it is completely broken, it caused a problem.

Any ideas what could cause white screen, it?

    Thank you.

    PROBLEM SOLVED

It turns out that the new screen, I bought was not good. I went back to my original screen, which was good, and of course, the screen now works, I decided.

NOTE: the original monitor problem does have to do with the monitor cable not being plugged into the motherboard sure enough, that's why it would work briefly, then suddenly the screen turns off, as if she had no power.

    Thanks for the help!

  • white screen after that vista went on mode 'sleep'

    Hello

My laptop started to have problems after going sleep mode hibernation recently. I run a Dell Vostro under Vista 32 bit. My big problem is that I can't test one of the solutions I found on the internet so far because even with a forced shutdown the laptop never start back. White screen. Nothing is ever displayed.
Last time I went out that holding the key FN holding power. Then released. The screen came blue and memory tests and drive hard started. I let it run and no problem was found on the hardware side. After the tests were performed, the computer restarts and I press F8 to boot into safe mode. Everything went well for a week after this episode. I tried the "sleep mode" once again and it was as if nothing ever happens. Everything worked well.
And now, it's happening once again. This time, the combination FN-power supply does not work. Nothing appears on the screen ever. The power button not blink or change color. The hard drive light turns on for 3 seconds only when I try to start. Then it's screen white and everything that I hear the laptop fan...
Any idea of someone from the combination of keys to force start the laptop into a kind of safe mode?
    Thank you very much!!!

So it seems that I have to respond to me :) Just in case someone goes nuts facing the same issue, find multiple options on the web 2007 update you this, change the configuration that say, start in SafeMode etc., here is what I found to get out of the black screen after a watch on my laptop. I hope this might help someone else:

    1. Open the housing by unscrewing all to access the battery (not easy, go slowly and carefully do not damage the fragile covers). I hope that your battery is more accessible than mine.
    2. Disconnect the battery cable (if you have my laptop Dell Vostro: first - raise the head end of the connector so you can exit the orange cable gently)
    3. At this point, the rear of the laptop is completely "naked".
    4. Unplug the power cable
    5. Press and hold the power button to laptop for 30 sec.
    6. Plug the power cable back (battery is always not connected)
    7. Press the FN key + power button for 1 second and release them both at the same time
    8. The DELL logo is displayed, and finally the screen is not black more! I need the pre-boot system assessment tests. I hope that you will have this screen also. I suggest that you run the tests. In my case, nothing was wrong with the hardware. This is a Windows problem.

After this step, I was able to start in safe mode and play with the features of windows. Since I'm a busy mom and small business owner, I don't have time to assess what is wrong or even think to completely replace Windows on an old computer laptop 1 year part-time, so far. So I just canceled the sleep function for now.

    Good luck.

  • White white screen on Dell Inspiron 15 - N5030

    Hello world

I am trying to solve this problem with my wife's cell phone and its really frustrating. His Dell Inspiron N5030 and it's just more than a year. Unfortunately the 1 year warranty expired and this problem started to arrive in 2-3 months. The problem is, when you start the laptop, it has a complete blank white screen. I read quite a number of messages autour and many have suggested that it is usually a video cable connection, or a bad video cable of the lcd screen or a problem with the motherboard. I will explain the steps that I've done so far and I hope someone here can guide me on what I can do next to fix this.

First of all, when this problem started happening, it was very unpredictable. Which means that, sometimes, the laptop starts fine but sometimes white screen appears. But as the weeks went by, the white screen begins to appear more frequently, and now it appears all the time. That's what I found so far:

    (1) when you connect an external monitor, the external monitor works fine. The strange thing is, sometimes when I connect the external monitor, disappears from the white screen of the laptop and the screen lcd laptop starts to work again. I got this as a workaround for some time. Whenever the white screen appears, I connect the external monitor and remove it when the screen of the laptop working again. But eventually it stopped working as well.

    (2) when the white screen started coming all the time, I noticed that the problem goes away when I remove the outer cover of the screen. (the black frame around the screen that can be removed by pulling the top of the screen).

    (3) last week, I removed the LCD and taken apart to see if there was any loose connection at the back. I noticed there is no loose connection and the inverter was very good as well. However, I noticed that the black (video cable) cord that connects the back of the lcd screen to the motherboard was sorta stuck around the hinge area. I corrected this cord so its properly seated and made sure that the outside frame does not grow this rope to the hinge when I set everything again. When I did this, the laptop started to work very well for next week without problem but now the white screen started to reappear!

So, based on what I've seen, I think that the cord is blocked around the hinge and therefore to cause this problem. But I'm not a techinical person and don't know if its correct. It's just a guess... So I don't know what I'm doing then? This means that the video cable is drunk or is just blocking on the hinge at the origin of this problem? What I need to change the complete lcd video cable or is there another solution by moving this cord away from the hinge to fix this from happening? What I try next?

I appreciate all help and thank you for taking the time to read my post.

    Hello world

Here's an update on the solution of this problem with screens white white. I finally fixed it, and this time I know for sure that this problem is definitely solved.

First of all many thanks to "randypittes" for first of all the solution and share with all the world. Much obliged!

After setting up with this problem white screen for several months, I finally bought the "LCD video cable" on ebay and he succeeded. Its been 2 weeks now that I changed the cable and the problem re does not! I wanted to give him two weeks first and see if the problem comes back again until I jump into conclusion and now that my laptop works perfectly again, I know for a fact that this problem is probably resolved.

So, those of you experience the same problem, do the same thing. First of all start by replacing the LCD video cable and this should fix the white screen issue. He me $20 encrypted only on ebay (including delivery in sydney) and it is a much cheaper option than to try to replace the screen itself. If this does not work for you, then you can look into other options. But I would say, this solution should solve most of the white screen issues you may encounter.

Here is a guide that I put in place about how I went to change my video cable in my laptop. I don't know that it can be useful to other beginners like me:

Step 1: first of all, make sure that first download you the manual of your laptop. Google simply your laptop model and you should be able to find the manual for it on how to replace its parts, etc... It's really convenient when getting started.

Step 2: Check out this video on how to remove the screws around the LCD and how to get to the video cord to the back of the LCD:

    cs_setInnerHtml ('video_8efdced1-828d-4463-b632-022776eb4f65', ");

Step 3: Check the downloaded Reference Dell manual and see how to remove the screws on the laptop base and how to remove the:

    (a) is based

    (b) keyboard.

Step 4: once you remove the palmrest and keyboard access to the motherboard with the video cable is connected.

Step 5: Replace the cable and reassemble everything to the way it was.

It's her! And good luck to all! You need... :-)

  • Start-up and white screen issue after updating to v10.11.5?

I can't say 100% that my problems are related to the last update, but I thought I'd ask.

I've updated about 4 or 5 days ago, and although the questions did not begin immediately, they start after the update. It should be noted that I have never had issues like this before.

Here are some of my questions on my MacBook Pro (17 inch, early 2011), 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB at 1333 MHz DDR3, Intel HD 3000 512 MB graphics card

    1. the monitor will sometimes go haywire and a strange split, screen where the mouse can go to the left side of the screen and reappear on the right side of the screen, because the office is now split into two

    2. computer crashes and the monitor starts flashing to show a blue zigzag striped background

3 freeze during startup and never restart computer. Occasionally, it will start very well, but the computer locks upwards at some point while using

4 computer at boot flashing out to a white screen then restart never

    Thanks for any help.

Now I'm starting to think my problems are related to a single user, sign in. Only 2 people use the computer and my connection seems to be fine. No crashes or anything like that.

The problems start when my wife logs in to his user account.

    Thought I would mention it.

    Any help/response would be appreciated.

  • Satellite Pro M40 sometimes starts with white screen

    Hello!

I'm pulling out my hair with this problem.

For no definable reason that according to me, my laptop will start with a blank screen.
Not all the time, but, seemlingly, whenever it feels like I need extra help stress on my plate.
For the most part, with perseverance (starting with or without battery, with or without the adapter, with or without pci with or without mouse usb network card and any combination of these elements), it ends by lights correctly, but sometimes Nothing that I won't get it to start and show me a screen.

My M40 is 4 months old.
Since it's purchase sent to Toshiba for repair twice for this problem, when I have exhausted myself trying to coax it into life. Whenever he was sent by saying either the problem has been fixed, or that he had no problem found/all systems ok / "it works very well for us, after testing all week."

This week [edit: it was Wednesday], I sent it to me, and Yes, I checked the trunk upwards and gave a sigh of relief that there is an image on the screen.
I wrote a letter to this topic a day or two later (that day he first gave me a screen white, but on closing down and restart, it was fine).
Today, however, not a week later, I have a white screen again.

I am reluctant to send for repair again, due to the stress involved and the time it takes and the technicians speaking it works for them.

If anyone can help, or was faced with a similar problem, please respond.

Oh, and the solution does not lie with the keys FN + F5, because I tried several times... unless there is a way to 'special' to build on them, I'm not in the running for!

[Edit]: several hours later, as a demonstration of her bored this problem is, my screen is once more working.

I went on once again, at the time and no joy. Then, after switching OFF, count to ten and the restart, eureka.

I'll update with news as it happens. If there are all the necessary specific details about "switching on the environment", just let me know.

It's a very strange question, and it would be very helpful if you can put yourself more observational.

  • Screen LCD 19 inches of HP w1907s: wf1907 - white screen

My friend is having problems with its monitor and currently cannot go on the forums or get technical support itself. I come here to get clear answers on what might happen, rather than going by my pure speculation. I do not have this control myself, so this is outside my field of exact experience. (She also lives in another State and I can't help or look at the configuration physically. I'll have him describe as much as she can to me.)

I know, she has a Compaq WF1907 monitor with its configuration of the desktop (Windows 7 PC). Just today, she used her computer and suddenly the screen of the monitor has started to Flash a little until it became all white. She tried to restart it and it just does the same thing every time. After awhile, he completely exploded.

She found a new spare cable to replace the other connect its monitor to your computer, and it has only allowed the monitor to return completely white again.

My first assumptions were in the realm of a graphics card is going bad, or in loose / damaged cables. However, she has a new graphics card that has been installed recently and made the first speculation probably not (I'm not sure what his graphics card is good - just that it's brand new). Speculation of cable is uncertain now because not even another cable helped the white screen go away. This shrink me down to thinking, this is a problem with the screen itself, but I'm not sure.

So I came here to ask about it for my friend and she needs answers as soon as possible. She has things she must do it on his computer, but now its own monitor screen is out of use. Can she do now?

    @just-a-guest, welcome to the forum.

Here is a guide that can give you a little help.  I agree that this is very probably a monitor failed.  The image on the Product Specifications page and the fact that it is a Compaq, it seems to be older.

The video card is newer does not mean that he could not have failed.  I got a new out of the box be DOA.  So, does it completely.

  • Satellite L10-119 out of hibernation when moved...

    Hello

I have a strange problem with my Satellite. He goes in and out of hibernation with no problems but when her hibernation and I want to move the laptop to put for example in my bag it comes suddenly from hibernation. She does this on a sign of mild shock, touch and movement. The problem is even more strange that it disappears when I plug the power - Hibernate the laptop's rock then stable and it is only started when I open the lid or press the power button.
A that someone has experienced this problem? Hibernation is very useful and I can't enable on-the-go, as my computer starts to turn :(

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've never heard of this. I use the mode standby and hibernation on both of my books and if the screen cover is closed properly I can do whatever I want and turn around. The laptop is OFF. After opening the cover of the display unit turns on automatically.

There is the same situation with sleep mode?

  • White screen on model Equium M50-216 SM57E problem

I'm having a strange problem with the computer screen... Start-up of the laptop... against the cold, the Toshiba logo flickers then the windows logo then flashes black... However, the screen is still backlit... The laptop works perfectly apart from that. I can connect to external monitors and it works very well, but here's the weird thing...

I connected on three different monitors it works in 2 4:3 monitors. It does not work in my wide screen... when he starts the Toshiba logo comes up then the windows logo then just prior to the Welcome screen of windows (that blue thing at the beginning) the monitor says no signal.

After a while the display on the laptop will appear and be fine until I stopped it (usually, sometimes the screen off, and without touching it's back in a minute).

The white screen comes generally from when the laptop is started after being off for a while; For example, suppose that during the night... I simply closed the lid last night, and no do not stop correctly then when I opened it this morning the screen worked perfectly. There is no other display weirdness... bad pixels, lines, anomalies of any other nature.

I recently reinstalled everything and the problem is still there. Please say it is (Hey! the screen comes back) a driver problem or something as simple

Help with this (or even a suggestion) would be greatly appreciated
    See you soon
    Dave

PS: everything works fine apart from this.

    Hi mate

The story sounds very mysterious and my first thought is that it might be an unwanted material.

But usually it of not easy to provide a diagnosis exactly and we should first check if the software doesn't cause questions!

So first of all, it would be interesting to know if the same thing happens on laptop retrieved fresh. Using the recovery CD, you would get the factory settings!

A BIOS and update the graphics driver are the following options!

So check it out and let me know the results

    See you soon
