  • Why did Adobe Flash Player 10 Activex appear twice in Add/Remove programs?

I tried this request in an Adobe forum but got no answer. I use Windows XP SP3. When I go into Control Panel Add / Remove Programs, I see that Adobe Flash Player 10 Activex appears twice. Same name and both show the last time that I acceded to them was 14/08/2010. The second one is slightly different because it shoes 2.42 MB in size. Why the duplication? Can I delete one? Besides, if it has not been used since August of last year, do I need at all?

Information on "Last use" and "size" in Add/Remove programs are notoriously inaccurate.

Each of the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller from Add/Remove Programs entries.

Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash

The current Flash ActiveX control is Flash10s.ocx.  There are several other auxiliary files as well.  If there are any files with the previous letters after 10 (e.g., Flash10p.ocx), delete them.

Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ to download the current version.

  • How to install free adobe flash player - my security settings won't alow it

I try to install free adobe flash player - I'm not computer, my security settings do not allow "facility and I have tried to disable firewall briefly." I can't activate this procedure occur! I would be really grateful for your help.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my question and your answer. I apologize for my delay in answering your question.  However, in the early hours of the morning, determination prevailed and I have successfully downloaded the latest Adobe flash player. I constantly had the message "security settings would allow me to run this file. The information bar, said, "check the internet options for possible conflicks." At the end of the day, I followed several Adobe troubleshooting instructions. I went in confidence and security level sites and I tried to change the setting of medium-high in the Middle, each time the cursor back to medium-high heat. I did several times, then finally managed to download. (I still don't know why, even when the firewall is disabled, I was unable to download previously), I obviously have a lot to learn. It is good to know that there are people out there like yourself, who are willing to help. Thank you.

  • Why does Vista work with adobe flash player and RoboForm?

Why does Vista work with adobe flash player and RoboForm?

    original title: Vista 64-bit

He does.  Even if you ask the wrong way.  It is not Windows Vista which would "work with" other applications, it's other applications that "work with" (or not) Windows Vista.  After all - Windows has no need or the other of these two applications to run, but these two applications need to Windows (or some other applicable/compatible OS) service.

Not only it works with both - but Adobe is finally released with a version 64-bit Flash Player - so you can use it with the version 32-bit and 64-bit Internet Explorer.

  • Why Adobe Flash Player icon does not appear on the desktop and why the program is not installed on the computer, even if the program is running?

Why isn't Adobe Flash Player icon on the desktop and the program don't figure not like being on the computer, even if it is running OK?

Flash Player is not like a normal application.  You don't access it directly then you will not see an icon on the desktop or the start menu.  Instead, your web browser automatically detect and use it whenever requires it the content that you post.

  • Anyone know how to change the password for the installation of Adobe Flash Player?

Anyone know how to change the password for the installation of Adobe Flash Player? I have tried everything that I usually use and nothing works. My Adobe ID password works perfectly. I can't complete the installation without this, and it doesn't have a 'forgotten password' button to change it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

There is no password required for the installation of Flash Player, at least not on the side of the things Adobe.  It's probably the security of your computer, forcing you to you connect allowing the installation to occur.  Only you would know what would be the connection for this information.

  • Why do I get pop ups randomly to upgrade my adobe flash player in firefox?

Here is the link that is in the browser: Please update Adobe Flash Player

When it appears he then put a few seconds later with a file download here:http://secure.pn-installer4.com

I checked on netcraft.com and he said: it is owned by Amazon. So I'm a bit confused why they would ask for me to update. Amazon has Adobe?

When I looked I found sites calling a pop up virus and how to remove it. So, I wanted to get the subject by the creators.

    Thanks in advance,

    Robert

    P. S.

Sorry if I put this in the wrong community.

There is no such thing as 'Flash Player Pro'; no Adobe, or anyone else.

These pop-up windows - up appears to be the result of a

    • an infection of malicious software on your system
    • a malware infection on a Web site you visit

    1hungrydude wrote:

I wanted to get the subject by the creators.

It is very difficult to communicate with the creators of Trojans, viruses, or other malware.

The Adobe legal team may be able to have these sites down, but it won't be long until they pop up again under a different name.

The best you can do is to be vigilant and keep your system clean.

  • Adobe Flash Player security prompt

I am aware of the fix for this but I need help to understand a few things:

    1. Why some users to access the guest and others not?
    2. Why is the process of the application of the different fix for some users?
    3. How can we ensure proactively that the masses will not get this message when we're ready to release the product/service?

    History

We prepare to deploy a new product or service, so a small team of computer science have been video creating using e-Learning Suite.  Before we roll the final product of our users they wanted to confirm that the videos were playing very well.

People with e-Learning response indicated having received the Adobe Flash Player Security prompt (see below) when they tried to play one of the videos they've created.

    Flash_WithSpaces.png

My first thought was maybe the spaces had something to do with it, so I made a copy of another file (which was also having the same problem) & deleted all spaces, but the problem persisted. (See below)

    Flash_WithoutSpaces.png

I sent them some instructions on how to fix...

    FlashSecurityFix1.png

But on another machine, the person said was their process is quite different:

    • "Click on settings...".
    • Go to the Advanced tab
    • Click check now
    • When you click check now, it should bring you to this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ , do remain.
    • Right-click on the text of the Version information - it should bring up a contextual menu
    • Select "global settings".
    • Click on the tab 'Advanced' in the Flash Player Settings Manager window resulting
    • Scroll to Developer Tools and click on "settings... trusted location:
    • Click "Add folder...". »
    • Select your drive APTUBE
    • Confirm
    • Close windows and restarting playback of the video.

    FlashSecurityFix2.png

Once again, I and several others (the majority) do *not* security message; The video loads and plays very well.  Yet, the group that created the video receive this prompt.

We want to ensure that it is not not a general configuration problem which will result in several hundreds of our help desk calls when announce us it!

I think you'll find that you're talking to a combination of people with the standard version of Flash Player, and people with the installed Flash Player debugger.  Looks like you have the installed Flash Player debugger.

You can check in the section 'Find the type of Flash Player version and capacity' on this page:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/find-version-Flash-Player.html

The debugger comes with Flash Professional and Flash Builder.  Professional Flash shipped as part of Adobe eLearning Suite.

When you are creating Flash content, we ask you to do strange things with local files.  We also show you popup errors ActionScript.  For the average end user, we tighten the security down and remove us all these messages to provide the smoothest experience possible.

I recommend that you install and test with Google Chrome, just like a convenience thing.  It comes with it's own version of Flash Player delivered it.  This makes it nice for the test, because you have an easy way to keep a version of the player installed, while retaining the debugger in other browsers to facilitate analysis and content creation.

You can always uninstall the debugger and return to a target release of Flash Player to Flash Player uninstall and download the most recent from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

    Uninstall instructions:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/uninstall-Flash-Player-Windows.html

If you are not debugging Flash content on your system, the release player is MUCH faster.  You want to use it for general web surfing.

So back to this error message.  Looks like your customers are going to see that the current state of things, and you'll definitely want to fix front of ship.  You can confirm by checking with a browser with installed release player (Chrome).

Flash Player is saying that you try to run a SWF (compiled Flash animation), but the SWF file runs out of your local file system and called a network API.

When you compile a SWF file, you can define how this SWF behaves when run from the local file system.  It can a.) Talk to the Internet or b). Access local files.  You cannot cross the river.  This prevents a malicious user to read information from your machine and sending it to themselves.

I'm pretty sure that if you recompile the SWF, but go to file > publication settings > Security local playback and set of access network only, the error message will disappear for people with versions of Flash Player.
