  • Blue square with a question mark instead of a picture

    I'm on Messages to use with your Mac - Apple Support.

    Instead of pictures (or), I get a blue square with a question mark in it.

    This does not happen with all Web sites, but I wonder why it's happening with an Apple site, and how I can see the photos.

    It sounds like a broken image link.

    Post a screenshot if you can, so that we can confirm. The page seems OK after a glance. Command + shift + 4 then do slide on the affected area, add the image to the desktop to this site via the camera icon.

    If you have browser extensions, disable them and repeat the test. Also try a different web browser if possible to see if it is the scale of the system or only Safari. Is - this Safari you use?

  • Small box with yellow question mark!

    I downloaded pictures from iPhoto via documents.  Imported OK, but have since deleted documents images and now when to access the images (in items 11) 'missing file' message and small box with a question mark in it in the upper left corner.  Guess I'd not deleted documents?  Situation is recoverable?

    Thanks Maz

    You are right.  You remove all the photos from its original location.

    The import function simply creates links to your photos for Organizer to find them quickly.

    It is may be recoverable.  In windows, they must be in your trash or the "trash".    T #Just open the tray and select all the files using Windows Explorer and then right click and follow the instructions.  You must restore the files to their original location.

    Good luck.

  • In the forum Coursera pages there are different icons and buttons, but I see that only holders of palce, small squares with letters in there. Any help?

    In the pages of the coursera.org forum, there are different icons and buttons. They do not display correctly. I can see only tiny forms square with characters in them. Hovering on them can display information in some cases, but it is not very convenient. Although they recommend Firefox, I use Chrome instead. Chrome has no questions here so far. Is it possible to view these icons correctly?

    Many sites now use downloadable fonts to create their icons instead of the traditional image files. So, there are some Firefox settings that might be a factor, as well as the NoScript extension, if you use this (blocked objects).

    (1) in the dialog box fonts Advanced, unchecking the checkbox which allows the site to use its own choice of fonts. To check that:

    "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > content > button "Advanced".

    Here you must "allow pages to choose their own fonts.

    (2) on the deactivation of fonts downloaded in: config. It's less likely, or you remember probably not, but here's how to check on it.

    • In a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.
    • In the search box at the top of the list, type or paste the gfx and make a pause so that the list is filtered
    • If gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled preference is bold and user, set false, double-click it to return it true.

    This seems useful.

  • Slideshow of issues with a variable time for each photo

    Hi all

    I migrated from AS1 to AS3 and the boy, a lot has changed...

    In any case, to learn and understand AS3, I'm editing a slide show that I found through thetechlabs. I want to play SWF and JPG. These files are transmitted via an XML file. I added an element called < delaytime > in the XML file, which replaces the time that a photo is displayed in the slide show.

    I changed the function onSlideFadeIn() as follows:

    function onSlideFadeIn():void {
         slideTimer.removeEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, nextSlide);
         slideTimer = new Timer(xmlSlideshow..file[intCurrentSlide].@time);
         slideTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, nextSlide);
         if(bolPlaying && !slideTimer.running)
         slideTimer.start();
    }

    However, when I run it, I get this error message:

    ## [Tweener] Error: [object Sprite] raised an error while executing the 'onComplete'handler.
    TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.
    at slideshow_fla::MainTimeline/onSlideFadeIn()

    at caurina.transitions::Tweener$/::updateTweenByIndex()
    at caurina.transitions::Tweener$/::updateTweens()
    at caurina.transitions::Tweener$/onEnterFrame()

    It stops at the first photo of my slide show. When I push the 'next' button, it displays the next picture, but I get the same error message again.

    When I comment out this line:

    slideTimer = new Timer(xmlSlideshow..file[intCurrentSlide].@time);

    the slideshow works OK, but without the delaytime specified in the XML file.

    I'm lost here, what am I missing?

    Any help to get back on track is much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance, broadband

    Dirk

    almost everything is possible.  There is no way to tell without looking at your xml file.

    Create a new fla, load your xml and make great use of the trace function to see what you do.

  • The number 0003 in a small square appears in some texts. How to get rid of him?

    I'm building a website and when I preview it with Firefox, a small square with the number 0003 it appears here and there in some of my text. This particular icon does not appear with Chrome and Safari.

    Ok. I solved the problem by re-typing a few words before and after the symbol 0003. This symbol was confusing because it shows no visible sign before or after it. Firebug detects it, but without offering any explanation. In any case, it seems to copy and paste from another application.

  • Why some images are displayed as small rectangles with numbers?

    When I visit some sites, some of the images make under small rectangles with letters and numbers on the inside. This issue seems to be with Firefox (see motogp.com_FireFox.jpg, attached), rather than the site because the site displays properly when I get another browser, such as SeaMonkey (see motogp.com_SeaMonkey.jpg,) attached.

    The website, motogp.com is one I visit frequently; It happens on this site. See 2 pictures attached for an example of this problem.

    The box identifies a character not in the police who are using Firefox. This happens usually when a site has changed use images for its icons to use characters in a custom font, you need to download. There are three common reasons for the glitch:

    (1) uncheck the box 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts' here:

    "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > content > button "Advanced".

    If the pages are not allowed to specify their own fonts, Firefox uses the specified here, police who normally does not have the required pictures.

    (2) disabling fonts download. To check that:

    (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (B) in the search above the list box, type or paste gfx and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (C) If gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled preference is bold and user, set false, double-click it to restore the default value true

    (3) extension of block the download. NoScript has a feature to block the downloadable fonts, for example.

  • Features of the icon: why some icons contain green boxes with check marks?

    Original title: icon features

    Why some icons contain green boxes with check marks?  Ditto chiccory arrows & exclamation points?  Thank you.

    I assume you mean the file icons in Windows Explorer (my computer). The curved arrow indicates that the listed item is actually just a shortcut to a file or a program. The exclamation point and the green check mark will have something to do with the backup or archiving and depend on the settings you have made in Windows or backup software that you have installed.

    Because it's really a matter of Windows rather than specifically related to the word, I'll pass your question on a Windows forum.

  • 24 of Firefox with vista to date fails to display icons on the new Yahoo Mail and other web sites — especially icons such as facebook, twitter WHY?

    Web sites like murraystivoli.com that display the facebook and twitter icons and in particular the new Yahoo Mail interface fail to display the icons. I see only a small rectangle. On Yahoo Mail, there are a few inside but instead it should be the display arrows, images of envelopes or as medium icons or 'send '. The new interface is useless without correct icon translation - can not see the arrows for 'reply' 'reply to all '. It works on Internet Explore on Vista; It works on Firefox on Windows XP (it's the way back level) then why do we see this problem with Vista and Firefox update (we 24.0 but saw problems on websites that I don't care that much about other levels of Firefox also.)

    Help, please!

    Same problem here... I have no icons or tick boxes at all in Yahoo mail and it affects a good few other sites too, just small square boxes with numbers inside. It's really annoying!

  • print small squares instead of numbers/letters

    having an intermittent problem with both my HP (laser & ink-jet) printers.  I've updated printer drivers, but still this problem - where small squares instead of numbers and letters sometimes appear.

    I read that the "print job wants to use a character that is not present in the selected font (font) and the character set' - that I sort of understand.  but I don't understand how/why that it just started to happen (I use these two printers for several years).

    and especially, I do not know what to do about it.  even when I save files as PDF files on my desktop, the small squares always appear...

    Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

    This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

    This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

    -Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
    each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
    version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

    For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
    Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
    video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
    cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
    This will refresh the driver stack.

    Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
    own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

    Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
    (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
    updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

    Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

    Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
    because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
    pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

    Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

    Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager

    If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
    This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
    questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones
    manually if you wish.
