Why can't I capture any video on my Windows Movie Maker?

The reason why I ask this is because I was able to save on another computer that has Movie Maker on it, but my laptop Vista cant even record. I need to update or download an update? On the Movie Maker, it just says that I can import videos, no catch.

Hello

1. what operating system is installed on the other computer?

2. What is the live webcam, for example, record source, DVD, etc?

You can download & install Windows Live Movie Maker from this link & try to record video:

Hope the helps of information.

So I just bought your Adobe Photoshop and elements first.

I have a Panasonic Lumix camera that takes pictures and video

I can download the cideos from this camera to windows movie maker, but when I try to download it for first all I get is an audio file

Why can I not use the video with this program

    Save

Thanks for all the useful information.

Everything I've read and everything what you wrote, I came to the conclusion that you have decided to get MotionJPEG.mov with your Panasonic DMC - ZS3. You are determined to stay with this shooting mode? If so, the first choice is to explore a "drivers and utilities" that is supposed to come with this camera.

Best choice (for the quality and the best Premiere Elements handling) would be for you to shoot AVCHD Lite for your 1280 x 720 @ 30 progressive frames per second rather than MotionJPEG.mov. Your camera will appear to give you a choice in this regard.

I don't know if the Morgan MotionJPEG codec would work under 64-bit Windows 8. I have not been there and done that. It works very well for Window 7 64-bit. We could talk about conversion, but, if it came to that, I'd rather see change you your MotionJPEG.mov to AVCHD Lite shooting mode (I'm not sure of the file for the AVCHD Lite extension. Do you know what it is or can you find?)

    Later.

    Looking forward to your results.

    Thank you.

Watch the video file. The last 3 letters represent the file format.

Windows Movie maker only supports the following video file formats:

Video files: .asf, .avi, .dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv

If yours is not on the above list, Movie Maker will have probel play.

In this case, you will have to google for a free video converter and change the format of your video file to WMV. WMV format is the most reliable format for Windows. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

  • How to capture a video from a home made dvd to use to create a video edited with Windows Movie Maker

I have a DVD made home to a sporting event that my son has played in. I'm trying to get the DVD video in a file on my PC so that I can use it with Windows Movie Maker. It is probably a 'rookie' question, but I couldn't find what I needed by using 'help' or 'search', so I hope someone in this forum can tell me how to do this.

    Hello

    1. what error message do you get when trying to download Windows live movie maker?

Check if the problem continues in a new user account. To create a new user account, try the following steps.
    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    2. click on manage another account.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. click on create a new account.
    4. type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

    I hope this helps.

    Two thoughts...

    (1) you may have a problem with audio / music which is not
fully compatible with Movie Maker. The best choice of audio.
music formats would be .wma or .wav.

    (2) the addition of transitions between the photos will reduce the picture
    duration with overlap.
