  Receive a HP Laserjet 1102w and tried to install it on Mac OS 10.5.8.  I downloaded and ran the HP drivers but when I go to add the printer in system preferences/printers and faxes in the list of available printers is empty.  I tried several routines suggested by a search on the web about the problem without result.

  Thank you for your attention.  I found the solution.  See below.

  The printer is connected by USB and I also tried to get the wireless connection.  I had intermittent progress on both fronts, but could not make a successful installation of USB connection or wireless connection.  The printer would "disappear" the list of available printers (using the '+' to add a printer, OS 10.6.8) or does not meet the installation commands.  And I could not connect the printer wireless to my network of 'take'

  Print the configuration page was of no use.  If the printer is unable to connect to the wireless network, it reports the IP address of the printer such as 0.0.0.0.

  TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM

  (clicking + under "Print and Fax" printer is not displayed or the name of the printer is removed)

  (2) follow the recommended configuration options (HP support for Laserjet P1102w, OS 10.6, via a USB cable to connect wireless);

  (3) select the appropriate wireless in the list;

  (4) restore WPA security mode; and

  (5) to give the printer the correct wireless network password.

  You must remove all the entries of Adobe since the 'hosts' file in your computer.

  The location of the hosts file is

  For windows:-C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (open it with Notepad)

  For Mac:-Finder window Open---> click on top go---> go to folder---> Type '/ etc'---> press enter - hosts (open it with text edit)

  If you see all the entries in the hosts Adobe file delete them, save the file and then launch the product---> license this software---> identify you---> the subscription will be activated.

  I assume that you have a wireless printer. If so, the software is different from each manufacturer, but it is similar to this. Before starting the installation, make sure that you have a USB cable at your fingertips and you know your network name (SSID) and wireless key. Install the software and follow the prompts to set up the connection Wireless for the first time. Once it has been set up you can unplug the USB cable.

But yesterday, I opened a large file which had been addressed to me in Dropbox. When I downloaded and opened it and tried to change it, the selection tool was not aligned properly, so the selected areas were elsewhere on the page, where the cursor was. I restarted my computer and was able to change the file more or less normally (I noticed more little glitches with this CD player but I can live with them). But when tried to save the file with a new file name, like I always do to differentiate files that changed since the original files, the save window is empty. There is no option to save the file with a new file name. In fact. There is no option to save the file with the changes! I thought maybe it was a problem with this file only, but when I tried to edit a file provided by regular e-mail, I met the same problem trying to save to a new file name. What is the relationship between my old Acrobat Professional and Acrobat Reader DC? Why can't save files normally? I managed to save the changes I did by saving it in the cloud to Adobe (I had to then because I could not send the file by e-mail because of its size - I tried to send it to me)., but I'd rather widely navigate in Windows Explorer to work with files. I suspect that there is some simple aspects about what I am simply absent or do not know. Can anyone help?

  I see that you have a problem with printing from the PC using your HP Officejet 5740 e-all-in-one printer. I want to help you with this. I have some suggestions that might help.

  I recommend you try the following steps:

  Remove the temporary PC files:

  • Press the Windows key + r
  • Type %temp%, and then press enter
  • Press Ctrl + a to select all files
  • Press Delete
  • Note that some files do not delete - do not worry, this is normal. Simply click ignore that you're prompted.
  • Empty your trash at the end.

  Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Click here to install and run the printing and scanning doctor. This utility is designed to detect and automatically fix common printer setup problems.

  If you still experience the guest fax after these steps I suggest you uninstall the printer and redo your printer setup.

  Uninstall your printer

  • Press the Windows key + r
  • Type of control panel and press enter
  • Click on programs and features
  • Select the driver for your printer from the list, and then click on uninstall
  • Click here to reinstall your printer.
