Why can't scan with my MF1450 on my Windows Vista? The printer works.

When I run the "test" option that appears when I open Control Panel Scanners & printers, it is said that she read the scanner. But when I try to scan, I get a message telling me that the drivers are not installed.     If you have installed through software that has been linked to above, you should have an icon on your desktop or in your programs that will allow you to control your actions of the printer. So in this software under "Scanning" or "Scanner Actions" you can use and control your scanner to your computer. The "Scan" function you're talking about is probably a virus scan of one of the programs on your computer, not a real scanning application.

    The printer just stopped working yesterday.  I am running Yosemite 10.10.2. Through internet research, I've upgraded to the latest drivers and software HP.  I have reset print.  Can I get printing to work with an ethernet cable.  Wireless does not work.

    I now get an error of scanning HP printer is not available.  However, the printer works when I print to.

    I spent hours trying to solve this problem.  Please help, the printer and copier work but not the scanner.

    Thank you - all the wireless functions: printing and scanning to work again.  I followed the guide, but it took a number of attempts.  I think the main thing that I was missing before I used this guide was remove the preference.

    I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7 Edition Home Premium preinstalled.  I use a HP Laserjet 3055 multifunction device as my scanner.  I do a lot of scanning.  With my previous Setup and Windows XP very well worked, quick and reliable scanner.  I do mostly from documents by scanning in the form of pdf files.  With Windows 7, there is a function of scan and fax in the start menu.  The scan function does not provide a pdf format, only .tiff, .jpeg, etc..  Despite this, Adobe on its website indicates that Windows 7 is completely compatible with AdobeReader 9 which is the pdf program I work with that.  I know that the reader do not create pdf documents but in my old configuration, I used 7 Player and never had a problem of scanning hard copy as a pdf document.  Can someone help me?

    The scanned image has been wrapped in PDF or OCR software there that output in pdf format.

    Check with HP, if your old software will work. I doubt it and think that you will have to find programs to create PDF files you want.

    Adobe Reader, in any version, has nothing to do with the way that PDF files have been created. It's just a program used to display.

    I know that XP 64 bit SP2 is not officially supported for this printer, but well... I bought so I want it to work

    There is no software available for Windows XP 64-bit, so any client software solution will not apply.

    Try using the native functionality of the printer such as the Webcsan function.

    Follow the steps in how to scan from the (network only) embedded Web server below:

    The option can be disabled by default, if so open the settings tab, select the administrator settings, check the Webscan and save the changes.

    So, you can share a folder on your PC network.

    First share a folder within your operating system and find the network path. then follow how to scan directly to a network (network connections only) folder > second step: set up the scan to network folder > allows you to configure the integrated webserver (EWS).

    I have a Brother MFP 2820 it is USB and it works very well.
