Why 'Check Your Plugins' report outdated plugins as "up-to-date"?

When I visit the 'Check Your Plugins Page' here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

It shows that I got 5.1.404160 Silverlight and it also shows "updated."

This version is outdated since the release of Silverlight 5.1.40728.0 back on August 11, 2015. This update fixes a vulnerability allowing code execution remotely.

Even who was replaced by Silverlight 5.1.40905.0, released on September 29, 2015.

So why your 'Check Your Plugins' page report that vulnerable old version of Silverlight is up-to-date?

Thank you for that bring to our attention. I just updated the page and it should reflect its own version now.

  • Says check 19 Flash plugin is up to date

Tools, Addons, check if your plugins are up-to-date says that my flash is up to date, but I flash 19 and not 20. What is happening with this?

  • Impossible to verify if the plugins are up to date

Since May 4, 2012 about 6 hours EST (on 3 different computers) I get "sorry, we couldn't find the page or file you were looking for" when I click on the link "check to see if your plugins are up-to-date" through the page modules. It is the first time that I've ever met this problem... someone can help me with this? I've tried restarting Firefox, restart computers, cutting off the firewall, uninstall Firefox and reinstalling and so far none of them have worked. It is now Sunday, may 6, 2012 about 10: 30 EST and I was clicking that link several times every day to see if something new happens or fixed and so far it does not... I still see the same page. I'd appreciate if someone could help me to solve this problem very soon... Thanks for any help.

Temporarily, you can go directly to the Plugin Check page by entering the following in your address-> https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ bar only (you might consider Bookmarking that link)

You can also change a hidden preference in Subject: config to correct the problem:

    1. See-> http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config
    2. type of topic: config in your address bar, as type a web site address, and then press the Enter key
    3. ignore the warning and choose to continue
    4. Search = plugins.update.url
    5. in the lower part of the screen, right-click on the name of the option and click 'change '.
    6. Change the value for-> https://www.mozilla.org/%LOCALE%/plugincheck/ . This value changes OR

Not related to your question, but...

You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update if necessary:

  • Problem check Java plugin and mozilla.

    Hello
I encountered some problems with the java plugin (SE 7.0.90.5 10.9.2.5) and mozilla plugin check site. I always check that if my plugins are up-to-date, so today I did this audit controls and plugin told me, that the java plugin was "outdated". But, it turns out, there is no new version of the java plugin. OK, maybe glitch or something like that, so I reintall plugin-plugin check shows always the same message - "obsolete". I introduced in safe mode in Firefox, tried to delete the file pluginreg.dat profile directory, even reinstalled Firefox itself. Nothing helps.
Maybe someone could help me with this one. It would be good to know what caused this error.

    P.S. I use Firefox on Windows 7 64 bit 17.0.1.
    Plugins I'm currently using:

    • The Java SE 7.0.90.5 platform 10.9.2.5
    • Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502
    • Player VLC media Plugin Web 2.0.2

  • Why adobe reader plugin shows as not being updated, even when it's the last version

    Hello
I have the latest adobe reader. When I check the plugins from firefox, it says that it needs to be updated. But once installed, it closes as showing that the last adobe drive is already in use, and the only thing I can do is to get out this message with the button FINISH. Now, if it is still activated, the firefox plugin shows is not up-to-date. Some of these photos on the web page are not correctly captured. How to get rid of this problem. • I'm just getting to know Firefox yet once, how do I know why Microsoft put plugins under my Add ons?

I wanted to know if anyone knows why Microsoft put plugins under my add on area? It is everywhere in my programs and the computer, so that makes no sense to me? I would like to disable this if I don't train any problems on my computer. I use the photo gallery.
