  It is each carrier as they will blacklist the device or simply to block the SIM card.  The good news is that no one can rack up charges on your account using your old phone.  Now when you get a new, open a BlackBerry Protect session and cancel the old phone.  You can then connect your new phone and restore your contacts.

  It seems they have changed the way search works after the update. You can always edit contacts by opening the Contacts app, then open the contact you want to change.
