Why does Firefox (Mac) launch at startup?

I'm on MacOS 10.7.5. It seems that in time, that I've upgraded to Firefox 18, he began to run at startup. I checked that my list of sign in preferences does not Firefox. My general system preferences are not not to restore the windows at startup.

I spent a lot of time on Friday and this morning, solve the problem, including completely removing Firefox and all files related; then reinstall Firefox and by adding modules one by one. I found the source of the problem.

I had installed Bitdefender for Macintosh . It has an anti-phishing module. The anti-phishing module installed in Firefox caused his throw, when I restarted because Bitdefender has launched as part of the start-up procedure. If I simply removed the Firefox anti-phishing module, Firefox would launch wanted me to OK the addition of anti-phishing module. Once I deleted Bitdefender, Firefox has not started at startup. Why this does not happen with Safari, I don't understand. I will report the problem to technical support Bitdefender.

Looks like it's something on the computer. There are cookies that must be removed individually from the Firefox profile.

To do this, go to the Firefox Menu, tap Preferences, then tap privacy and then delete cookies or cookies see the. You can search the sites that gives you problems and remove them. Restart Firefox.

It could also be that you add a DNS server for your connection. 8.8.8.8 is google, but I don't know if this would affect given that the server is not found, not that there is no link, that's why it does not sound like a connection problem, but a cache problem. Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).

To turn off hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

    1. Go to the Adobe Flash Player help page.
    2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on this page.

  • Why does firefox open a non-stop tab string when I try to open a PDF file?

    Help?

the machine is a HP Elitebook 8540w. Windows 7 64-bit.

You have configured Firefox to use the Adobe Acrobat plugin? It seems that he may be missing or disabled, because it does not appear in your "more details of the system" (next to your message). You can see the page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click on Plugins. Then on the right, look for Adobe Acrobat. It may be down on a gray background.

If you don't have it: Make sure that this isn't your favorite here player:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > Applications

You can type or paste pdf in the search box at the top of the list after loading to filter.

If you have it, but it cannot be activated using 'Always enable' or "Ask to activate": You may need to update. I recommend using the help inside your product Adobe (Reader or Acrobat) menu to check the updates.

    Any progress?

  • Why does Firefox repeatedly blocks cookies after I enable them manually?

Firefox repeatedly changes the permissions of cookie for some sites to "Blocked" after I put it manually to "allow".

It is a recurring problem which was not fixed in the last several major releases.

Followed advise and have several times without success (even temporarily):

    -Cleared cache.
    -Delete all cookies.
    -Deleted sqlite-cookie files.

The problem, sometimes makes Firefox unusable on some sites that require or use a login. Here are a couple:

My preference is to continue to use Firefox, but have been customizing Midori, I need to use it on a regular basis when Firefox cookies automatically returns to blocked.

'S probably done it by one of the installed extensions that address privacy and cookies.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

  • Why does firefox 16.0.1 allows me not to click on the buttons in the top 40mm under the banners, if I can get to them by tab to a button, and then press 'Enter '?

It doesn't matter what web page I'm on, top 40mm or so of the screen is a dead zone to click on buttons or links. for example, in Google, I can click a link further down the page and are transferred to the new article - but if I had to move the element to the top more near the top of the page the link would no longer operate.

I can go to a link by repeated use of the "Tab" key until the button or the link is shown and then press 'Enter' to use the link, but this is potentially very time-consuming if there are many links on the page.

I use a Toshiba Satellite L750 loaded with Windows 7 and Firefox 16.0.

Problems with the buttons and links at the top of the page does not can be caused by an extension as the toolbar Yahoo! or Babylon that spans both down and covers the top of the browser window and therefore links and buttons in this part of the screen not clickable.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.
  • Why does firefox keep my information, connect you to & facebook and yahoo same T so I say don't remember password and I clear all history?

When I log onto Facebook, I find that my log in information is in the boxes at the top of the screen as well as the 'Sign Up'. I remove these whenever and clear everything in the story of claire drop-down. However, when I enter the initial of the first name of my e-mail address in the box 'Register' in Facebook, it pulls up to my e-mail and then when I click on this option, it penetrates my password.

My log in information is also recorded on the At & T yahoo in the page log. Even if "keep my connected to ' is not checked and I've never asked Firefox to keep this password.

Clear history does not affect password storage. You can remove this password saved using the Options window under the Security Panel. This article shows you where is the "saved passwords" button. Once you click on that, you can delete the entries for each site individually.

  • Why does Firefox 5 keep runing whenever I start it control of compatibility for addons?

I've just updated to Firefox 5 and now everytime I open the browser, it works an add on compatibility check, even if I have not installed all the new add ons. It also opens the "Welcome to Firefox 5' ('NEWS') each tab and never time.

Try to remove compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder.

Who should initiate the compatibility, but if all goes well he does return next time.

If this does not work then try a new profile.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

See basic troubleshooting: make a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
