Why DOT4 scrubber hangs when I try to install the updates?
After HP Update notification me 3 awaiting updates (including a critical update to correct a PC to printer communication issue) I started the update. The first of the 3 updates installed successfully, but the second update (criticism) has frozen in the middle of treatment Purifier DOT4. I was able to complete the second update, allowing the third install successfully. My firewall Zonealarm is no effect on the problem. I downloaded the update (using the link provided) and launches it from my hard drive manually, but it still does not work until the end. He is apparently a very widespread problem, from the comments I've read. Is there a solution? And if so, what is it?
Well, it's hard to believe after all this time... but today, I ran the famous critical update for success! But I will say that it is the first time that I've tried since then reinstall my software to a new version of the website of HP L7680 print. To make a long story even longer... a few months ago (I think) the functionality of my scanner "went south". I think it was the result of problems with another (unrelated) software that triggered this situation. In any case, I tried to reload my printer from the OEM CD (HP) of many times software and encountered an error every time. At this point, I had visions of having to reinstall my whole OS (XP Pro) but as a last resort, I checked on the website of HP and rolled up a version more recent... HP solutions center that I downloaded and installed. This restored all of the features of the printer, and I have not been concerned about the infamous critical update since... until today, when I received a HP update command prompt to install it. Reluctantly, I clicked next and allowed the installation to proceed. It appeared that DOT4 scrubber would cling to the same place again, but since there are activity still going hard drive, which I allowed to continue. After a long wait, a notification of successful completion appeared on the screen, followed a prompt to reboot my system. So for now, things are finally back to normal. I hope this will help others who have had the same problem!
PS - With the OEM version of the HP Solution Center, I haven't lived occasional printer disconnects (which deals with the critical update). However, with the new version that's happened. So I hope that successful installation of the update today will definitely fix this problem.

Hi Jeff,
I had a whole series of mistakes differrent, but thought of the discuussions in http://forums.adobe.com/message/5273970#5273970 would be the resolution, but as you can see by my comment on this subject, that this still has not first solve my problem. I finally solved it by using this solutions all in contact with technical assistance, although I do not understand what we did different, he still was't straight forward and had several attempts to succeed. Still seems to be a problem Adobe must answer, especially with the new CC version and update to come Monday, I bet that there will be a lot of discussion of this problem the week next in the forums.
See you soon

Welcome to the Microsoft answers site!
(a) update you are trying to install? (It would be better, if you can provide the number of KB)
(b) are the other updates related to Windows from installing on your computer?
I suggest you try the following steps:
Step 1: Disable the software security and then try to install the update
Note: Activate security software once the test is completed.
Step 2: Download and install the update in the clean boot state
To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps.
1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
5. click on OK.
6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
After starting the computer, download the update manually and try to install it.

I just did a clean install of Vista Ultimate. After downloading all the Vista updates, using Windows Update. More updates installed for a few failed. I reinstalled Office Pro 2007. I tried to install "Microsoft Update so I can get the Vista & Office updates on a single screen.
From the "Windows Update" screen, I clicked on 'Get updates for more products'. Which takes me to '
http://www.update.Microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx?ln=en-us '. I except the "terms of use" and click on "install". I click on UAC to continue and immediately meet with the error message and the next failure: Microsoft Update could not be installed on your computer
Make sure that you log on as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group, and then try again.
More troubleshooting options

If your computer is not connected to a network, or if your system administrator has not disabled Microsoft Update, check if the Windows Update service is disabled or stopped.
