Why EI in first Pro Project Manager project files collection of files?

Am I missing something? I can't find any explanation as to why an AE project file is collected by Premiere Pro CC 2014. I realize that I have I am using AE Comps in Premiere Pro (dynamic links). I've always wanted that Premiere Pro would "collect" all used AE project. But apparently Premiere Pro just recover the AE project file...

If I open the AE Premiere Pro project file "perceive" it retains its resources on my machine, and I also now have two copies of the same AE project file. Nothing has nothing for me. I still have to "collect" the AE project file that creates yet another copy of the same AE project file... I don't have any sense for me and I hope that I am missing a step or overlooking something...

Ideally, it would be nice if the Agency would be somehow communicate with AE and I AE collect the project and send it from Premiere Pro to include in his "collection" of resources.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance,

Lou

Hi Lou,

You are not missing anything. The current implementation of the project manager can either copy only the file of AE project or you can choose to select Convert after effects Compositions of Clips, which allows to convert your AE project a transcoded file.

The collection of the files used in the AE project would be a feature request. Adobe - feature request/Bug Report Form

  • Pro project file creation and all their exports just disappeared?

Not in the trash, the backup automatically went as to have 2 files exported with the permission of the project. I have no explanation for this, files are still in place with all the adobe generated when importing files.

Someone had this or better yet someone has managed to recover the prpro file?

    I'm on CC btw.

    Thank you

    Hey Ryan,

In my view, a new feature that we added in hearing CS6 should help you with this workflow. While hearing support not a format of project official at the moment, we have a way to ensure that all open files when a session is saved will be stored in the session is open again.

Go to Preferences > multitrack and activate the option for "reference open them all audio and video files during the recording of the sessions.

Normally, when you save a session (file .sesx), we keep only the references to the files you actually added to the multitrack environment (this has been the case for all previous versions of hearing and Cool Edit in the past).

With this option enabled, we will also retain references to ANY audio device or file video you have opened in the files Panel - even if you have not added to the multitrack yet.

    I hope that helps!

  • Why not my Macbook Pro to manage over 3 USB devices?

To make music, I need 3 usb devices. However, my macbook has only 2 usb ports. I thought that using a hub usb can help, but every time I plug 3 devices (one on macbook and usb hub with two usb devices), one of the devices does not work.

For example, I have an audio interface, a mouse and a keyboard. When all three are connected, the midi keyboard does not work (is not recognized). When I unplug the mouse, the keyboard is recognized.

There is no work around for this? It would be a problem with my usb hub?

The devices have their own supply or is the hub, a powered hub? If it's a powered hub connecting all three devices inside.

  • Why Adobe first Pro is changing the original images/assets (for example, mov) files? (CS6)

    Background:

    1. A colleague gave me a large .mov 33 GB for use in a project, I put this file on a backup disk.
    2. I did a copy identical .mov 33 GB file and placed in a folder that I use for work on a project in Premiere Pro.
    3. I ran Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and dragged through the 33 GB .mov file in the sequence (imported)
    4. Premiere Pro CS6 in line started in the file.
    5. After what he had done, I noticed that its modification Date was just now, that is to say different to the modified Date on the copy of the original file during the backup drive (see step 1)
    6. I ran a check for BeyondCompare between the file .mov on the backup of the drive (see step 1), which the project Premiere Pro used (step 2, 3) and Beyond Compare reported that they were different.

I thought at first it was corruption in independent files, but I checked several times and got the same result, then it is certainly Premiere Pro deliberately editing the file.

So I am confused: these are supposed to be the same file.

Why is there need of Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the images?

    What does the file?

Wouldn't be better to create a separate file if necessary?

I can accept that if this is how it works and it is good to know that it was the first Pro deliberately edit the files and not of corruption (so my equipment had to be healthy). But it makes more sense to me if Premiere Pro is separate copies modified for its own use. Editing the file that it annoys my process to ensure the integrity of backups; If the original active film files were the same that the copies, then it would be easy to know that backups are OK.

    Thoughts?

Definitive answer (I think): it's this definition, "Write XMP IDS to files on import" - that confirms that Adobe Premiere Pro is deliberately editing the .mov file: 935347 B http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/preferences.html#WSE3BD4A43-7022-4fe6-97F5-95313

These positions provide general information as to why have enabled would be beneficial: the advantage is to be able to skip compliant files by matching to the original file using the embedded XMP tag: -.

I just want to know how it happened to one of our producer/Editor. It is his story. "She hung the three hard drives to 9 from FCP, has opened the program from Premiere Pro and created a new project file. Then she dragged the files, .mxf per season per show in the Premiere Pro project file. To organize additional files in labels and others per show per season, she decided to redo the project file. She highlighted the files on the window of Premiere Pro and click on delete. She then tried to repeat the move but this time, the program could not read the file type extension. One of our Publisher checked raw materials of the external hds but unfortunately the files is no longer there. Our question is how it happened because according to her, there is no prompt that it will be deleted in the external source files. Please help so that we can avoid it in the future. Hoipng for your immediate response. Thank you

First does not remove the files. The option to delete files from the hard drive only appears when you perform offline files in the first project window.

The editor is sure that she has deleted the files in the window of Premiere project and not on the hard drive itself?

    >>

Better is not not to drag but to import or to ingest via Media Browser in the first.

I'm guessing she files deleted from the hard drive.

  • No way to prevent the dupes in the Premiere project file?

Due to working with the PluralEyes as well as several editors on the same project, I deal with the importation of many XML and PRPROJ in project files existing files I've worked with.

This, on a large scale, is becoming untenable because every time I import work of another editor or a synchronized sequence, I receive duplicates of all my assets in the project. I'm trying to understand if there any way to have first check to see if the media is already imported and that the media in the imported reference sequence? If this isn't the case, I'll only to be big project files with multiple references to the same support, because me and my other editors work with the same media, but for different sequences.

As far as I know, when you import an XML or even a sequence of another project of creation, it creates new key elements for each element used in the imported sequence. It does not recognize that you already have a main part that you use in another sequence which refers to the same media.

So if you want to keep the two sequences in your project, you must keep the two main elements. If you delete a main element of your bin, it won't stay in the sequence that is references to him, he'll cut off, leaving a big smoking crater where there was once. Even if the sequence is not open now. It's one of the things I loved about FCP7. You could remove each of your master clips and your sequence would be totally unchanged. You could even recreate the main elements by dragging your sequence in the trash.

I think that if there is really no way to manage these duplicates, it is a HUGE problem for professionals who work in environments with several publishers. It's not just one "well, learn how to deal with a new editing system" - it's actually a deal-breaker; and in fact the only one I see REALLY preventing first to be the choice of go-to post larger houses. This problem becomes so big, so fast that it is true collaborative editing impossible. In my office, we have three people on a project, all the edition revising segments and pass them back. On FCP7, it's simple as Hello - we have just cut and paste between project files and use basic best practices for version control. First, our project files are quickly turning into nightmares and work is often deleted or lost.

    I want to see:

-Smart handling media in the import of sequences and projects. First must look at the location of the file and folder names and try to recreate a link to any media duplicate. If he stumbles, he must ask for help as the PCF.

-A media inspection to the consolidation feature. I would love to see an option for the inspection of your project for media duplicate references. When found, first must consolidate automatically.

-Export of the rationalization sequence. You should be able to export a single sequence. I know there is a version of this in the project manager, but we know all that it should be easier than this!

Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Experience an extreme frustration with this same in CC 2015! Filled a bug report, I hope really that this can be resolved soon!

    Hi Darius,.

Please fill your specific frustrations here in a bug report.

Difficult for me to convince major productions to make the transition to first where exist some small stupid things like this again...

You can avoid duplicates in many cases, but you must start each project with a few things in mind, especially if you work in a collaborative environment.

    • There will be a 'master' for each production project in which you are working. This project is read/write.
    • You import other projects of other collaborators via inspect the file of the project through the master project of Media Explorer (you can open several Media Browser and save several favorite media browsers). These projects are going to be read-only.
      • These items may be sequences, graphics, music, etc..,.
    • Before starting work on the main project, make sure that you enable 'Write XMP IDS in the files when importing' in Preferences > media.
      • This will tag each media element with a unique ID, which Premiere Pro allows to follow.
      • Then the application will recognize the duplicate items and avoid their display.
      • If a music video, graphics or other media Reference does not exist in the main project, an attachment point is imported to establish a main element.

You can say "major productions" that it is the method used by the Coen brothers, teams of Assembly and Fincher. If you have any questions, please let me know.

See this tutorial for the workflow:
