Why firefox doesn't include pages recently accessed menu drop-down with the 'back' button?

This feature is fairly common and useful instead of research in history or up one by one.

Click and hold or click the back button to see the back / before the list.

  • New Firefox doesn't have a history of menu drop down reliable - help!

I've just upgraded to the latest version of Firefox and makes a few versions that I did that. An important feature that I use in my work is now gone! I need to be able to work my way through screens of 3-4 on our Web site, and then return to the first screen to enter a different search term, spend 3-4 screens, go back to the first screen for a new period of research, etc.. Because of the way our system is set up it is not possible for me to simply mark the first screen - I need to come back as it was, over and over again.

Help, I can't do it now! Used to be I could pull down a menu drop-down 'history' from the back button, but it is no longer possible. The list of actual history, when I go to him in the menu does not list for just the page history that I am on, for some reason any and does not give me the link to the screen, that I need to come back.

It's very very frustrating - it looks like a feature was removed, and I need this feature to do my job effectively. Can you help me to add this back to the next version of Firefox or to let me know how I can go back to the previous version if I use this feature? Please - thanks.

The arrow to open the history tab of the previous buttons and following was removed in Firefox 4 and later versions.

Use one of the following methods to open the tab history list:

    • Right-click on the back or next button
    • Press and hold the left button of the mouse on the active back or forward button until the list opens

  • How can I stop the page to reload automatically when I hit the back button?

A few months back, I upgraded to a new laptop, and since then, when I hit the back button, it refreshes the previous page from what I can understand. On my last laptop, if I was doing some research on a site and click the previous button, the search bar would be automatically ready to hit the BACKSPACE and delete what is there for a new search. Now, when I hit the back button, I have to manually click inside the search box to do, and I hate it. When you are doing research on multiple sites, like this time savers really help. This applies to regular sites (forums, online stores, etc.), not search like Google sites.

I don't have this problem on my old laptop and does not know how to solve this problem on this one. They are the two Win7 x 64, and version of the browser is not the issue. I started Firefox on this computer that same exact on the last of them, and after the updates, it's always the same. I am currently on 8.0 but will soon be upgrading to the new.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • Why Firefox update when he knows, that it is not compatible with the extensions and plugins?

Firefox now don't run videos or my birthday e-cards. I tried all solutions as much as I could but am not even remotely a techie to 61.
Why do you insist on updates that make stuff that I use daily useless? Why do I have to remove or downgrade stuff to get things to work? It is total nonsense.

I can leave firefox from anything else given this CONSTANT of issues... almost each update something isn't currently compatible... people aren't happy, firefox. I know that I'm not.

QUESTION: e-cards and videos do not work. period. I have downgrade flash and messed up with realplayer without result.

    HELP and SUGGESTIONS please

Current advises most recent Flash to solve problems is to downgrade to the latest version of Flash Player to an older,

There was more of a problem with Flash Player recently. Staff FlashPlayer and Firefox is aware of and try to correct some of these problems. The latest version of Firefox 13.01 you are on has been partially solve some of these problems.

I'm agree the rapid update cycle has caused problems, but now is settled and most software must be compatible, or have alternatives that are.

S should mean Save. You can use B to save as a background. Right click + S became "connected" in my fingers after several years of use of IE. I don't know there are millions of users who feel the same way.

I've never used and do not know if she can deal with popups either.

The other option is to "hack" the file omni.jar in the folder setup of Firefox, but that will likely be replaced whenever Firefox is updated.

  • When click the "back" button after filling out web form, I can't, a message says that Firefox must send information that will be rpeat any action... Why can I go back?

My current Firefox is version 9.0.1 update
"when I click on the"back"button after filling web form or make payment online etc, I can't go back to my homepage, if I press the BACK BUTTON (arrow) a message said.
"Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (for example, a search or order confirmation) that was carried out earlier.

I don't want to re - order or repeat the process over. The only thing I can do is to leave Firefox and start again which is very painful.

    Any solution will be appreciated.

Older Firefox had this coming message in case you have used the back to go to a page that is requested from the server with the POST data specific to a form previously sent.

You receive an alert to send POST data if you return to a page or refresh a page that was requested in advance from the server by submitting form via a (hidden) MESSAGE form data.

Firefox can only make sure to get the same page send this POST form.

Firefox doesn't know what it means shape data, so Firefox asks for confirmation before sending the form data so action can you take to repeat an action and buy another article or post a message once.

A way to prevent that pop up is not to use the back button, but to open the links on a page that have been requested from a server by sending a MESSAGE form in a new tab (window) with a middle click or a Ctrl + left click.

Then you can close the tab or window to go back.

The back button often responds with a drop down menu of the story rather than simply go back to the previous page. There used to be a small arrow for that, why did you do that?

When I left click on the back instead of the browser navigation back button, I go almost every time to get the list of previous browsing history or it will just doing nothing until I click on the new button. The history of combination of button "return" rather than a separate between the historical click of the buttons box is the problem. Combined with my arthritic fingers of aging that is. If I was as fast as I used to be I guess it wouldn't be a problem. I liked the separate history area. This action combination navigation / buttons story scenario is problematic. I'm fairly certain that if I find it quite disturbing to bring to your attention that there are others (old beards) in the same boat I am.

  • How to make Firefox exit reloading web pages of several times (while I read a page), so that the back button to return to the previous page

The back button did not work correctly for perhaps a month. I have finally addressed the problem but have no solution. Updated for Firefox 43.0, turned off all my Add-ons back to header by default, then also ran the refreshment of deleted my Add-ons. This problem occurs on many web sites. I'll click on Rawstory.com (for example), and then click an article and start viewing. While the page does not appear to charge that I read, I noticed that the small icon in the tab of Rawstory winks (as if reloading the page). This happens over and over again. Now I know to pull down the window under the left arrow to see what happened. The last page I read ended show 9 times under the arrow to the left, even if all I did was click top once and read the article. I wondered if my click on the scroll bar to read to the bottom of the article is somehow cause this problem (same for the use of my fingers on the touchpad). Thanks for your help.

I know there is an addon for windows Classic theme, but I need a fix for osx... its very frustrating when you update and things like this change and can be customized to the way we are used to using the browser. his counter intuitive to have the page button refresh so far from the back and home buttons.

never mind, I found the preferences in the addon manager... Thanks again!

  • Update Firefox 29 I can't access to the sidebar of history with the history button. Any suggestions on how to change this? I tried to customize the toolbar

Since the last update I can not access the sidebar of history with the history button more. I tried to customize the toolbar and download the Restorer Classic theme. Neither worked help would be appreciated.

Does it mean that nothing happens when you click the history button and choose View history Sidebar?

And nothing happens when you click the taskbar button side story provided by classic restaurateur theme?

What happens when you hold the Ctrl key and press H?

If none of the works above, restart Firefox with disabled modules and test again. Of course the button provided by the Restorer of classic theme will be temporarily unavailable.

  • Why the 'Back' button often fails for the first time after moving to a new page to work?

During further testing, I can repeat this bug every time: it happens when I clicked on a page background (focus it and allow scrolling arrow key). After having done this, clicking on the back button does not work as expected: don't not visually get "push the button" and the browser does not return to the previous page. Instead, everything on the menu (help, all file) becomes grey as if Firefox just lost focus.

It almost seems like Firefox 7 has a 'smart' function to prevent accidental 'Back' presses, but if so, it does not work!

Please let me know if you need more information about this bug.

  • In versions of firefox previeous, next to the back button was a drop down arrow which brought back several pages. Where at - it go?

It is a problem because my school website uses many pages of transition ID-checking between the links, then when I try to hit the back button, it sends me to the verification page and then return to the page, I was on and there is no way to go back without opening my story something that can be a problem if I look at things in multiple tabs. Is there something I can do?

You can get the menu drop-down by clicking on the previous/next buttons or now the left key pressed until the list is displayed.

If you want the drop-down arrow, you can add it with the add-on of dropmarker rear - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker
