Why Firefox doesn't let me add an exception?

Firefox tells me that a site has an invalid security certificate, I know. It ask if I want to add an Exception and I click-to-add - on. It appears the Add Security Exception window and this window tells me that this site has a valid certificate and there is no need to add an exception; but I should add an exception and he won't do it for me. Why?
I work in a secure test lab and use Firefox to connect to our systems under test. Every time that we have change or add hardware to add exceptions to connect to a system. I did it for years with Firefox, but now Firefox 4 seems confused. We must now use AE, which I wouldn't have enough.

I can access the site with other web browsers below, however, Firefox won't let me access it or I can add an exception so that it is access. If I can't access the web site, I have no reason to use Firefox at all. Can someone please?

If you can not add an exception, but get a pop-up with the error message, you can go the pref browser.xul.error_pages.enabled on the topic: config page and make sure that the value is set to true (the default).

You can retrieve the certificate and the control that has issued the certificate.

    • Click on the link at the bottom of the error page: "I understand the risks".

Let Firefox recover the certificate: "Add Exception"-> "get certificate".

  • Firefox won't let me add some addons

I am trying to add some addons and it wont let me add any of them it keeps telling me that they are corrupt please help me with this problem

    Hi mellyorajackson1967,

first of all check them that your selected addons are not on this list: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/
If in the list, then Firefox will block the installation and displays an appropriate message. If this is the case, you should check to see if there is an updated version of the add-on you were trying to install.

You can find more information here: Add-ons that cause security problems or stability are put on a block list

  • Why Firefox doesn't mean I download AVG

The AVG site announces a Firefox link for their privacy add-on. Firefox then prevents the connection. Is a "questionable" site, AVG?

I suggest to use any product AVG, duplicate the functionality already in Firefox, are sub-par in how to detect viruses and have a history of causing other bugs and security problems.

  • Why photoshop doesn't let me not renaming my layers

Does anyone know why Photoshop won't let me not renaming my layers?

I may be your solution - I just this exactly the problem and have run into a few times recently, seemingly random. The psd's happening was a floating window - when I moved it back in the dock he allowed me to rename the layer. I don't know if it's just my system, but its fixed it for me overall. I hope that this will work for all of you as well.

  • Why firefox doesn't answer after that I submit my crash report?

When I open Mozilla, Mozilla's Crash report screen comes up. After I sent the report, another Mozilla Crash report screen appears asking to send another report. I have dk what crash ID is. When I go to the summary report, it is incredibly long.

    User Agent

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322 .NET CLR 2.0.50727;. PC Media Center 4.0; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729;. yie8)

Hmm, this is her nasty. We will see if we cannot solve it.

I would need a few details to help better, if the solutions below does not work. I need to know what options are selected in the reporter on the accident, and one of the crushing of the reports will also be very useful - don't you worry that it's long, useful data on why this happens can probably be found somewhere in there. See the Mozilla Crash Reporter article on how to find reports, "Reports outside Firefox display" section points to where you can find the reports.

But first, lets see if we can not get Firefox started without crashing - here is a link explaining how to start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode. Make sure that no instance of Firefox is running before you start Firefox Safe Mode - you can check this by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete to bring up the Task Manager, and under processes tab verify that there are no firefox.exe in the list. If there is, highlight it with the mouse and kill the process. Then start Firefox in Mode safe of Firefox as explained in this article.

For a first try, just to click on the button 'Continue in Mode safe' and see if Firefox starts.

If this brings Firefox to life, it is probably an extension, a theme (or a combination) causing accidents. Close Firefox and restart in Safe Mode and this time mark "Disable all add-ons" and click the make changes and restart"" button. This will disable all add-ons (extensions, themes and plugins) and restart Firefox in normal mode. If it starts, you can start allowing your modules one by one to find the cause of the accident.
When you have found the culprit add-on, you can again start Mode without failure of Firefox and disable all add-ons and then start Firefox in normal mode, uninstall the fisherman and reactivate all your other addons.

Please post back here on the problematic add-on information (and all the details, you can find about it), so it can be studied further.

Let me know how the above work, and if I can be of further assistance. Detailed feedback is appreciated and helps us help more users with similar problems.

  • Firefox doesn't let me change my list of homepage. I tried all the suggestions to solve them.

As you can see below, I have a ton of bookmarks of the opening. I regularly rearrange, add, and remove them as my interest increases or decreases. Last week, maybe two, Firefox stopped allowing me to modify the list. It took awhile to notice, but on the last few days, I've been tearing my hair out trying to fix it. He began also do not let me change that represents I connected to Google +, I don't know if it of related or not.

I tried to reset the default list. I tried to leave it blank. I tried to delete the preference files. I tried to reset Firefox completely. Whenever I load Firefox it resets the list of homepage that he had before. I'm quite frustrated. What I have to remove Firefox and reinstall from scratch, or is there something else I can try?

    Thank you.

If Firefox does not close properly, your changes of settings in your session could not fully recorded.

Could you check in the Advanced SystemCare (outside Firefox) software and disable its features related to the protection-browser to see if that makes a difference?

  • Why Firefox won't let me download anything?

Basically, I had a problem these days. I can't download anything on Firefox or another browser, I try to use. Files download without problem, and when he's doing so I can still see the files under development in the appropriate folders.

However, when the download is complete, the file just... disappears. It's the same for every file I try to download, not just one or two. Ranging from games, music, etc.

When I search upwards in the start menu, it appears, but when I click on it, he said, it is looking for the file, but I can choose to search for it myself, leaving me very confused. Go to the location of the file takes me to recent, where it shows the files that I downloaded as 1 KB shortcuts, but with the original file nowhere to be found.

If I may note, after downloading these files disappearing always occupy all the space on my drive that they argued that they could not only 1 KB. In addition, about a week or two before this happened, my computer mysteriously started losing a lot of space on the C: drive, to the point where I got a warning for having such space low; even if I was not doing something. Not sure if that plays one any part in this regard, but I thought I would add that in any way.

Someone here has a solution to this? I wish I had answers, please.

If download hangs at the last minute (just before reaching 100%), the cause may be an antivirus software that tries to parse the file and during this process the instance of Firefox crashes.

To resolve the issue, try disabling the analysis as follows:

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue on the subject: config page. A list of parameters must appear
    3. Filter the list by typing in the search bar at top. Enter scanWhenDone. Now you should find the "browser.download.scanWhenDone" preference.
    4. Double-click this preference to set the value to false.
    5. Then, try to download something and see if it still crashes.

Please reply and let us know if this helped you!

  • New Firefox doesn't let me make a new bookmark in a folder.

Previously with Firefox I could drop a new bookmark directly into a new or existing folder. How can I do with the new Firefox? (without having to save it and then move it later, I don't see how to do anyway) And how do I organize and edit bookmarks and folders with new Firefox? It was so easy before with Firefox. It is a major step backward in the coldness of the user.

The star that lights up blue when you're on a bookmark page acts like the old star in the address bar which yellowed on a bookmark page. You would have not used this one.

I'm not aware of a way to change the behavior of this button.

To display a dialog box add a bookmark that is by default in the Menu bookmark, you can use either:

    • CTRL + d
    • Right click on the page > bookmark this Page
    • (classic menu bar) Bookmarks > bookmark this Page
  • Why Firefox did away with the add on bar?

I use add ons like forecast fox that I liked at the bottom of Firefox

now, they came out and I was relegated to use certain add stupid to replace the add on bar

It seems that FF is trying to emulate Chrome which does not have an add on bar

so is anyway to display numbers down, what is?

    Historywriter:

    I'm NOT a Mozilla Developer.

The people who answer questions here are for the most part, other users Firefox dedicating volunteer their time (like me), not employees of Mozilla or Firefox developers.

Also, I repeated twice that you can install the modules listed above, if you don't like the design Australis.

  • Why Firefox doesn't create so many temporary files in the cache? Once it filled all space (46GB)?

Every now and then, Firefox will have created zillions of directories and the files cached in the directory for a Firefox profile. The directories are called 0 (zero) and F (using the hexagonal as numbers names, i.e.g), and within each of them will be more directories (with two names of hexadecimal digit). The last time this happened (2 weeks ago), these directories ate ALL my free space on the hard drive (about 46 GB of a value).

Why does this happen? Can I stop it from happening? If so, how?

    Thank you.

Yes, it should be easy reset.

    It can be put in

    • Options-> | Advanced | --> | Network | -> Web content caching
      Management of auto-cache to replace]
    • See #w cached web-contentweb-content-_cached

Probably your auto adjustment has been replaced and the box should uncheck.

I know that Firefox split cache up like this IIRC it allows faster cache and solves fragmentation issues.

46GB which seems a surprising amount and cannot be good if he eats all the hard disk space. I also know that the file places.sqlite is a variable size, but it is based on the system in use.

The regular HTTP cache is also defined without doubt intelligently, but can be replaced by the user
    This has some background info

My own settings seen in everything: support are

    browser.cache.disk.capacity	358400
    browser.cache.disk.smart_size_cached_value	266240
    browser.cache.disk.smart_size.first_run	false

My use of the cache is limited to about 350 MB

  • Why Firefox doesn't open the printer dialog box whenever it starts

When Firefox opens the printer dialog box opens automatically - why and how can I make sure that he does this.
This never used to happen on previous versions of firefox

Some web pages automatically shows the print dialog box. In particular, the pages Web sites have specially formatted for printing can do.

Restore you tabs that you have opened previously, or commissioning with your home page (s)? I suspect that one of them generates the dialog box. You can view by clicking on each of them and reload the page to see if it's on this page.
