  Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

  Recovery methods:
   
  If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.
   
  To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.
   
  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
   
  In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.
   
  Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.
   
  Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.
   
  First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.
   
  If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.
   
  If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.
   
  If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

  A general warning to help avoid this in the future:
   
  Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.
   
  Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages.   Are you referring to (files, emails, contacts and other programs) shortcuts on the desktop?

  When updates are installed on the computer it says system files, this process of service not Microsoft that are running in the background can conflict with updates and tour damage the system settings.

  This problem can also occur if system files are corrupt.

  Try the following in order to recover the desktop icons.

  Even though the desktop icons disappear, the programs are still installed on computer you can launch them.

  Method 1:

  Ø, right click on the desktop

  O select view

  Ø, click show the desktop icons

  Method 2: Click the Start button > select programs > verify if all the programs installed on the computer display > try to start or right click on the program and Select create a shortcut

  Check the updates that triggered this question go by the date.

  1. Click for Start > Control Panel > Classic view > Windows Update.

  2. along the top, click view update history.

  Before you install updates, follow the precautionary steps listed below.

  Bo is just fine. Unless the font you want to edit with is actually installed on your system, there is no way for Acrobat allow editing text that uses this font, regardless of whether or how much of the police is embedded in the PDF itself. There are technical and legal issues related to it, or which can be quickly explained here.

  Since I don't have Helvetica Neue LT Std installed on my computer systems, I tried using the function to change to the text from Acrobat to edit the text with the different faces of Helvetica Neue LT Std family. No problem! Assuming you are actually trying to change the text, if you have the fonts installed on your system, you should be good to go, so to speak.

  HOWEVER, be aware that there is a big difference between the use of a font for text editing rather than using the same font for a field of forms (including form fields that are not the user to fill out)! Restrictions on what fonts you can use forms fields are much stricter. A font used for a field of forms should not only be installed on your system for the creation of the field forms, but police must also have the license field allows Editable Embedding. Creating a field of forms with a particular font issue in Acrobat integrating all the glyphs of the police in the PDF file such as anyone who receives the PDF can fill form fields using the specified font, even if this font is not installed on their system. In reality, more fonts available on the market allow only the Preview and print Embedding which is inadequate for use in forms. All Adobe Original family (designed by or specifically for Adobe) fonts like Myriad Pro, Minion Pro, Adobe Garamond Pro, etc. allow Editable Embedding.   If I understand you correctly, this is not true: you can create storage with different blocks and create objects in their breast.

If I click on "Add a printer" in the menu devices and printers, I get the following message: "Windows can't open add printer."  The local print spooler service is not running.  Please restart the spooler or restart the machine. "I rebooted the computer and the same thing continues to happen.  I did a system restore and the printers are all back.  It seems that every time there is a change to any software, it creates this problem.  Help, please!   Got a solution - not ideal because I don't always know what's going on or why...

  So - I just encountered the same problem on my first import since the update.  I have a default to apply the average contrast curve to import.

  Fast/temp fix: in library view, select all the pictures, and then change the preset saved 'default' or 'zero '. or to expand the view, select the same default or reset.  Then change back to the average contrast curve... Might work for any option that you select, but that's what I used.

  an option may be to tackle this particular update for now until there is a fix from microsoft or you could also look at if there is a graphics driver update available on the Web site of the seller (intel/amd/nvidia) which could also be solved this problem in some cases.
