  What type of user account you connect as.  This can be an administrator account, a Standard account or a restricted user account.

  Your problem is probably not a result of having a limited user account.

  Try to create a new folder, an indication of the exact time that you do. Then, look in the event viewer and see if you can see the report in the system / application log registration issue. Thanks for posting a copy of therep [ort in your next message.

• When I'm in Documents, music or photos, I can't create a new folder in Windows 7

  When I'm in My Documents or music photos etc., I can't create a new (empty) folder by using the "new folder" button for some reason any.  Also, I can right click and create a new compressed folder, but there is no option for a regular folder when I right-click.  I tried CTRL + SHIFT + N, but who does not work either.  Clues?

  Update: option file showed up tonight, I guess after reboot and despite the error message posted above...

  Are strange issues Win7:-as the way in which the computer freeze up if the computer goes into fashion watches with the taskbar on auto-hide mode...

  Yet, I think it's a big improvement over XP.

  All of a sudden, I can't create a new folder under the directory "Documents".  In the past whenever I right-click on 'Documents' and then click on "File" I was given an option to click on "File" or "Briefcase".  Now only Briefcase appears.  That's happened?

  I'm not sure what you mean by "cannot open new folder", but if you mean, the option to create a new folder does not work or is not there.
