  It is likely that the file is corrupted then.  We hear your story several times a year, where a system down to halfway through recording a Photoshop file, corrupts the file in a nonrecoverable way.  There are utilities to repair PSD there, they rarely work, but I guess you have nothing to lose.

  It seems that there is a problem with the profiles.ini.

  Try control - clicking on images and compress them. You can attach only outside of a folder.
