why I can't install windows defender

He invites if poster is saying Microsoft Client Protection was found. If please remove this product and re-run Setup

That does this mean remove my virusprogram microsoft security essentials anti install windows defender

You should NOT replace Windows Defender by Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows Defender is Anti-Spwyare only but Microsoft Security Essentials is Anti-Spyware + Anti-Virus. Windows Defender is inside Microsoft Security Essentials. You must uninstall Windows Defender if you have Microsoft Security Essentials

Hi everyone I need help, why I can't install windows XP on my lenovo 3000 N500 4233-53U? When I boot on win XP and after he load some files it still stops & it become blue screen? Thank you...

Hello, has the same task these day´s. This is my solution.

    1. create a custom Win - CD installation with nLite, www.nliteos.com and
    include Win Service Pack 3
    2. change the Bios setting from AHCI to IDE harddisk
(Native WinXp doesn´t truly support AHCI Mode)
    3. when the installation of XP is complete, download and install the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver for Windows XP, Vista (32 bit) - ThinkPad" http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70477
Follow the instructions "If you don't have a floppy drive...". »

If this does not work with the step 1 and 2 and that you still have a blue screen during the installation, including the drivers of your installation of nLite CD

Currently, there are problems with the download of the drivers on the Lenovo site...... so if you can not download the driver package... send me a message I´ll send you it by e-mail.

    Best regards

  • Why I can't install Windows 7 on a GPT?

    YES... I have a UEFI (Asus P8H67 - M Pro) system.

YES... I use the 64 bit version of Windows 7 (Home Premium).
YES... I've already read 'Windows and GPT FAQ' and ' using GPT drives"so please do not refer to them here. (Links are displayed below for other readers)
The disc, I try to install on a RAID drive (controlled by a 3ware 9750-4i).
In my many attempts, I've known inconsistent behavior. But there are two things that remain constant (so far):
    1. Trying to install Windows on a volume of TPG bootable with the EFI partition and MSR already created will give me this error: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is the GPT partition style. »
    2. Trying to install Windows on a volume of TPG bootable with not created partitions will simply cause the volume to be converted to MBR when installing.
    My steps are the following:
    1. Prepare my RAID drives: in a new table, I create a boot disk and regular data disc (without a startup disk explicit Windows won't see a boot disk).
    2. I sometimes that I need to disconnect other devices/storage controllers before launching the installation disc or Windows STILL won't see my boot as drive is bootable.
    3. I boot from the installation disk using the UEFI option in my BIOS.
    4. Once I'm in the Windows Installer, I get my drivers (for my RAID controller - and Yes, they are updated).
    5. Then in the command prompt I run diskpart and convert my RAID disk GPT.
    6. I sometimes also create partition EFI and MSR (100 MB, 128 MB) it fill hoping to force Windows to install and maintain the GPT.
    7. I go back to the installer and make my attempt.
It's obviously very frustrating. I think I've been playing with this for a week now. I have no intention to support the outdated technology. TPG is the future, and there is no reason why everyone (with hardware and software) should be forced to use it. I installed Windows 7 (from the same disk - making faith) on my Mac without any hacking environment or virtual. I was getting the same error for a short period ("Windows cannot be installed... "), but it seemed to settle for himself after a few attempts (which never does, but I'm not complaining).
I scoured internet to seek answers, to see the countless discussions of people with similar problems and no solutions posted or solutions that do not correspond to the Bill. Can someone (Microsoft) Please lend a hand here?

Thanks David, for your reply and your original post with some very useful information on this subject.

It turns out the problem I've had has been implemented of the matrix RAID - the P8H67 - M PRO has an older version of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (i.e. raid controller) which does not support > 2.2 to disks.

Apparently, version 10.5 or above the RST does support 2.2 to, however, is not available in the current (version 1003) asus bios.

The mistake that I made was to go not in AHCI mode bios after failing with the raid - windows got confused and indicate only 280 GB. ACHI is very happy to install in windows mode.

My solution is to use software raid in windows 7 (only available in professional or higher) until this that asus untangle a BIOS update!

    Thank you very much, Pete.

  • I can not install Windows Defender 64

I want Windows Defender on my computer. I went to the site of Defender and downloaded the X 64 version. My system is a 64-bit system. When I tried to install it I got an error message "you need not to install this software, because Windows Defender is included in Windows Vista. You can access Windows Defender from the Security section of the Windows Control Panel. "The problem with this is that there is no section No. security listed in my control panel. This computer has never had Vista installed on it! What should I do now?

You should only use an antivirus programs, using several programs at the same time will cause problems.

By default, Windows already has Defender it contains, and where, let's say that you install MS security essentials, security essentials disables Defender.

My advice would be to use MS security essentials and use only malware cleaner so essential to security cannot cure a problem.

If you do not pick up a virus and security essentials cannot heal, I suggest to use this program:

You apparently Forefront security or installed Microsoft Security Essentials. If this is the case, you can not install Windows Defender. MSE already has an element antispyware anyway. So what antivirus/security software you have already installed on the computer? I don't like Windows Defender on XP machines in any case. A better choice is MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware (free versions). Install and update / it run manually once a week or more. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

I removed Bitdefender because it slowed my computer down a lot. I then installed Windows Defender and updated and scanned the computer (no problem) and said it was "protect my computer". But the Windows Security Center does not see any antivirus, until I installed Microsoft Security Essentials. Why? And are two antivirus programs now runmning together?

    Hello

read this information on the Defender:

the basics of Microsoft security has its own version of windows defender
