  There are a few things that you would have to do to install XP instead of Vista:

  1. contact the manufacturer of your computer and see if the XP drivers are available for your computer model to make sure that XP has worked properly in this regard.

  2. If the XP Drivers are available, buy a XP disk operating system / license. Try local computer repair shops because Microsoft sells more than XP and online sale buy you pirated copies can cause. Be very careful.

Since I installed SP2 on my desktop and laptop, when I close WMP everything a video or track is playing, a dialog box appears on the screen asking me "Do you want to hide the drive instead to shut up?".
