Why is the plugin Java 8.0.25 after vulnerable 7.0.67 too?

It is very common in the plugins section, in the menu of the AddOn, the message that the java plugin is vulnerable computers should be used with caution. Now in 8.0.25 even once.
What does that mean? Y at - it or will there be a solution for this? NoScript is in this case useful, or another security option?

Thank you!

It seems that Oracle refuses to fix vulnerabilities in plugin Java Deployment Toolkit, so, each new version Oracle release is marked as vulnerable.

For the average internet user, the deployment tool is unnecessary. In general, it is used by applications 'in house' on company intranets that use Oracle software (which tend to use very old versions of Java) and by developers of Java applications.

  • Why are the plugins Java required by medical systems not allowed to be reactivated, allowing medical facilities continue to operate?

    The problem with the more recent blacklist of the East, it is that the health care industry is behind in technology. Many medical systems is old and need older versions of Java to work. The blacklist because of countless facilities to lose the ability to water rescue medication order. Even my tech support office was bombarded with phone calls about this for the last 2 days. What can be done to allow these older versions of Java work in Firefox and restore the facilities to full operation?

    Hi JRChadwick,

    Sorry to hear about lag in technology of the health industry. There are older versions of Java Active. Oracle has released a update in February that resolves the security issue. What does Mozilla has been a softblock on it, which means that users get a notice this plugin it will be disabled and give them the option to activate it. To enable:

    1. Go in Tools > Modules > Plugins.
    2. Next to Java, click Activate.

    If the Enable button is not available, the block lists should have been updated before that Mozilla has changed to a softblock instead of a hardblock. In this case, follow these steps:

    1. Go to help > troubleshooting information.
    2. Click Open containing folder. That should open your profile folder in Windows Explorer.
    3. Closing Firefox.
    4. In your profile folder, delete blocklist.xml and pluginreg.datfile.
    5. Launch Firefox.

    At some point after that, you should then get prompt blocklist, but this time the ability to not disable it should be there.

    But I can't really emphasise this point: these versions of Java are actively used and the latest version is not vulnerable. If there is no chance, you can use the latest version of Java with the medical systems, this is the way to go.

    Greetings,

    It works perfectly in IE and Chrome I opened client Gin through the same URL, ex: http://10.0.0.28:7778/forms/frmservlet? config = gin4

    However, if I try the same URL in firefox it shows a large gray square on the page with the message "click here to download the Plugin.

    Clicking on install opens a small popup saying no appropriate plugins have been found, it is said to the inside and unknown Plugin (text/html) and a button to install manually is displayed.
    By clicking this button, I am taken to this page: http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_06/index.html

    I tried to solve this problem for a few months now with no luck.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Best regards
    Igor Carrasco

    Igor Carrasco says:
    Also in the article you gave me it pretends that would work any higher version

    This applies only when you use the dynamic as versions mentioned in the above article that you don't not firerfox as far as I can tell from the basexyz.htm that you posted.

    Bascally there are 2 parameters that are used by browsers to check the version: jpi_classid and jpi_mimetype. jpi_codebase and jpi_download_page are used to provide information to download the plugins only appropriate in the correct versions.

    The jpi_classid and jpi_codebase parameters are used by Internet Explorer (and as it seems too much chrome); jpi_mimetype and jpi_download_page are used by browsers like firefox mozilla based.

    You have specified

    jpi_classid=CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0006-ABCDEFFEDCBA

    so that means you want to use 1.4.2_06 with internet explore. IE is a bit lazy in this regard (as far as I know) and uses specified version or any higher if you have installed everything (beginning just your forms app and take a look in the java console which version you use).

    the specified MIME type is

    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.4.2_06

    Now, firefox works as expected and requires the exact version: 1.4.2_06. The firefox version recognizes your side 1.6.0_20 which is not the version would be asked at all.

    As mentioned in the article, you can use dynamic versioning to specify at least one major version that should be used:

    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.6.0

    would mean you can use any Plugin Java 1.6.0 (from 1.6.0_01 to 1.6.0_21)

    If you for example use a any version of the YPI you could simply do

    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet

    to run it with any installed YPI (from 1.4.x to 1.6.x)

    see you soon

  • Problems with the plugin weboperator 5.5

    I recently installed the Orchestrator 5.5 new in our new environment, but I'm getting this strange question than the weboperator

    display of Web pages is missing in the list of web display. I tried to reload the plugin and restart the server, but nothing do not seem to help.

    The only way I managed to get the plugin to show is by adding the package manually by extracting from the plugin .dar file. Even after this the web sight guard send me errors while trying to connect. And sometimes everything just works at all

    By "reloading the plugin" mean you clicked on the button "reload all plug-ins ' on the 'Plugins' page in the vCO Web Configurator?

    On the 'Troubleshooting' page, there is a link "Version current Reset." Have you tried it? Supposedly, he will be re - install plug-ins on the next reboot of the server.

    Add manually the package "might" work, but is not supported - package needs to be deployed as part of the installation of plug-ins.

    What are the mistakes do you receive when you try to open a session? Could you check the files of newspapers of vCO for exception and error stack trace?

  • The Java plugin does not appear in the Plugins tab

    The machine is a SLES11 running on x86_64 architecture. Firefox is 3.0.6 (from the installation of SLES11 DVD) version.
    I installed the jre-6u25 under/usr/java.
    I restarted Firefox after installation.
    No Java plugin is available under Tools/Add-ons/Plugins.

    What should I do to make it appear?

    I wonder why the IBM java that comes with SLES 11 is not meet your needs, but that is a different debate completely.

    It looks like the jre installation instructions are assuming that there is no such thing as SLES 10 as when you look at the directory of plugins for firefox.

    To get the plugin works I did the following:

    1. I installed the jre as shown (that is dire./jre-6u26-linux-x64-rpm.bin)

    2 created a directory of plugins in/usr/lib64/firefox /.

    3. then modified the rights on the directory (chmod 755/usr/lib64/firefox/plugins /)

    4. has created a softlink in the libnpjp2.so file
    ln-s /usr/java/jre1.6.0_26/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so

    5 restart firefox and checked for the plugin, who was there.

    6. went to www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp and got the message "your Java work.

    What the above assumes that you are using the 64-bit version of SLES 11, but I think that the same thing on a 32-bit installation would work also.

    The alternative is to use the yast software management and install version 1.6 of the IBM Java, which is included with SLES 11 making sure that you also install the java plugin rpm.

    I can't FF to tell me that it is not blocking it no more, so I can allow it, I could do in a small computer also W7pro 64 of my roommate, but a little more recent than mine.

    How can I get FF to show that something is blocked. Using IE right now, because FF installs all screwed everytime now. Something in my cookies?

    The Plugin Check page lists Microsoft Office 2010 with a search button. I clicked and I was redirected to a page where I would like to download the Microsoft 2010 plugin. I thought I did it (with a bunch of unnecessary waste). I went to the Plugin Check page and Microsoft Office 2010 was still there. Why?

    Mozilla only stores the details of the latest version of a small number of plugins, these being the most widely used plugins such as Flash and Adobe Acrobat. For these plugins analysis will show if you have the latest version.

    For other plugins, including the Microsoft Office plugin, Mozilla does not have details of the latest version and instead it displays a search button, that when clicked will perform a Google search. It displays the search button even if you have the latest version of the plugin.
