Why is there no account settings in my Tools menu?

Reading support for Thunderbird in order to set up a signature, I realized that my Tools menu has no account settings. How to retrieve or set up a signature in a different way?

Thank you!

Press the alt key to make the call of menu bar. Use the selection of tools on the menu bar. Someone decided to change the choice of menu around under the AppMenu button. Not their best work.

If you want the help documentation to match your menus, rekindle the old toolbars. Press the ALT key. The menu bar, select View-Toolbars and relight the toolbars.

If you do not see 'Tools', then you do not have your active 'Menu Bar'.

Re: I need to download sent Messages Inbox not only.
E-mail accounts IMAP see a remote view of the files on the server.
You subscribe to view these folders in Thunderbird.
You synchronize directories subscribed for a copy in Thunderbird.
What you do in a folder for example imap: delete, will occur on the server, so viewing via webmail or Thunderbird folders appear identical.

However, in your case, it seems that you have created a POP e-mail account.
E-mail POP accounts can only connect to Inbox server and download server Inbox for the Thunderbird Inbox pop e-mail account.
It's not a quirk of Thunderbird; This is how all Pop mail represents the work.

There is a work around to get "sent" in the folder mail sent from server in Thunderbird. You just do it once, because when you send it through Thunderbird, it will put the e-mails in the folder sent TB pop mail account and not on the server.

Thunderbird creates a "Sent" folder when first send you an email.
So, if you have not yet sent an email, please send one, even if only to yourself.

Then, move all inbox emails in the appropriate folders.
You can create new folders to organize them.

How to create a new folder:

• Right-click on the name of the e-mail account, and then select "new folder."
• Give an appropriate file name and click "create a folder".

When the Inbox is empty:

• Logon to the Web e-mail account by using a browser.
• Move all emails "Sent" in the "Inbox".

In thunderbird:

• Click on 'Get the message'

all the "Sent" emails must get downloaded from the server Inbox anto your Inbox in Thunderbird.

• Then move all your emails in the 'Sent' Thunderbird folder.

You should now have all these emails downloaded from the server and display in Thunderbird.

• Cannot add signature in TBird as in 'tools' there 'Account settings' button... Please help.

I looked at the instructions online, which apparently do not match my TBird program because there isn't an 'account settings' option under 'tools '. I just want to add a signature to outgoing emails, so I don't have to type every time. The only options in the dropdown 'tools' menu are the following:

AddressBook / saved Files / cat status / Join cat (n/a) / spam Run controls on folder / delete mail marked as junk in the file / Import... / console errors / clear recent history.

You must use the tools on the menu bar. Press the alt key to make it appear. A programmer has decided it would be fun to move the menu under the AppMenu button choices. I suggest that you put the old and reliable toolbars. The bar menu select display-toolbars and click their back on.

• Why on my Linux machine are not my Thunderbird account settings saved changes?

When I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 I have automatically Thunderbird 24.4.0, which works well for most. However, I believe that I can not change the settings for the account. I can open the account settings and change them apparently, but when I get out of that edit (by clicking on the red x in the upper-left - it doesn't seem to be a way to save my changes) all my changes are lost.

I found the answer to this (my own question!), so here, for those who have the same problem.

At the bottom right of the window account settings, there is an OK button that you click to save your changes and exit. I could not see this button because the window account settings (which opens when I click on Edit |) Account settings) was too big for my screen. However, the OK button is appeared when I got to click on the button maximizes (two along the Red Cross).

I'm sick and tired of my firefox browser attacked do and changing my 'new tab' url, my url of the home page and what I put on my browser. I understand the password to connect to websites, but why are there no admin password to change settings. If you have an admin password, which are required to change a setting, then this browser would be much safer and a lot less problems. Please add an option or an addon to get an admin password, which replaces all the rest, and will ONLY allow changes to any parameter in its use.

• Why TB does not freeze when I click on account settings? (Goes from bad to worse!)

A few days ago, I posted a question about migration backup emails in TB. I got help, but not a definitive answer to my problems. Unfortunately, my wife and I seem to have created an additional problem which must be resolved before we return to the issue of migration of file. Now, TB freezes when I try to check the settings of an account. This may be due to our attempt to copy an old e-mail folder (file .sbd), in my current profile. That's how it happened:

We copied a saved .sbd folder to
C:\Users\FF\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\pnp8j2nf.default\Mail\Local records
We have not seen any change in TB.

Then, in TB, we created a folder under local folders, giving it the same name as the .sbd that we had copied. The content become so visible in TB.

When I tried to check the settings of an account, TB has frozen. Restart TB did not help. Then we tried to go back to our previous steps by deleting the folder newly created in TB and .sbd file in local folders. I restarted TB and PC, but TB still freezes when we try to check the account settings.

Think that we could have corrupted profile, we also renamed the 8 character profiles .default under C:\Users\FrankF\AppData\Local\Thunderbird\Profiles and C:\Users\FrankF\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles, hoping TB would generate a new profile, but now the TB does not start without the profile.

We wonder if we should remove profiles.ini or remove its contents to force TB to create a new profile. Any advice on which are originally the gel and how to fix? Thanks in advance.

Apparent victory! I copied my saved files (trrevilc.default) to

C:\Users\FF\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles and edited profiles.ini, changing -

[Agroalimentaire1]
Name =TB difficulty
IsRelative = 1
Path = Profiles /kdtnv197. Fix TB
Default = 1

TO

[Agroalimentaire1]
Name =PlanetXP
IsRelative = 1
Path = Profiles /trrevilc.default
Default = 1

and Voila! my darlings old emails and accounts reappeared... even though I have an e-mail account w a problem.

I'm still wondering (after I backup C:\Users\FF) the best way to remove the other profiles. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.

• I can't change the time zone, date or account settings

I recently installed Windows 8 and put in place a local account as a Microsoft account. Problem is, after the connection with my Microsoft account, I can no longer access the local account, change the date or time. The computer is checked on my Microsoft account. I'm going to user settings and literally I can't do anything, despite being an administrator. I clicked on several of the options, but they do not react in any sort of way.

There are the links:
(1) change your account type
(2) manage another account
(3) change user account control settings

Any unreactive.

I'm going to change the time and I get the message:

[Window title]
Date and time

[Main instruction]
Unable to continue

[Content]
You are not allowed to perform this task. For help, please contact your computer administrator.

So, I turned on the local administrator account. And it won't let me change the account settings, but it will allow me to change the date and time. It's funny.

So, how can I make my original local account available again? Why am I having these problems with the operating system in the first place?

PS - I find more and more things I can't access, such as parental control. It really starts to check me.

I installed Thunderbird 38.3.0 in Linux mint 17.2, but for some reason any, I miss the Options tab of the tool in the menu of the toolbar and account settings. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Thunderbird and Firefox so deleted my profile and Add-ons. Note I don't have Mint module search Enhancer and stylish disabled both in Firefox and Message Menu disabled in Thunderbird this that I can't remove.

When I reinstalled Firefox and Thunderbird, the Options tab of the tool in the toolbar and account settings menu are still reported missing. Can so someone help me to restore these features of toolbar?

Oobals,

Look under Edit. Preferences and account settings.

_Linux, http://KB.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows, _and_Mac

You can right click on an account and choose settings, or you can click on an account, see its Central account summary page and select its parameters there too.

And most are under the Menu button of the Application; one that looks like a hamburger.

To restore the toolbars and menus, < alt > missing + v, toolbars and tick the boxes. You must repeat this in each window, depending on the case: address book, Write and reading window message, if you use it.

• When I go to tools-> account settings, Thunderbird freezes and simply emits a sound without action, when I click anywhere in the application.

I can't access my account settings. When I try to access account settings by navigation in tools-> account settings, TB freezes and simply emits a sound from there to the front when I click anywhere in the application. I have to close TB via the Task Manager and reopen it. Enjoyed every appeal. Thank you

What happens in safe mode? Hold down the SHIFT key while you start Thunderbird.

• Why are there 2 copies of E-MAIL sent in the sent to thunderbird v 38.0.1 items folder? ISP added SOLVED the file

When I send EMAILS there are 2 copies of all E-MAIL sent in the sent items folder. When I send an E-MAIL to me only 1 copy is received in my Inbox, so I guess that the recipients of email received my E-MAIL sent only receive 1 copy & not 2 copies of the sent e-mail message.

Thank you.

If your help gmail or hotmail (in it's many names), then your provider add sent mail as it passes through their system and Thunderbird is addin because it leaves.

• The message send failed - Please verify your account settings are correct.

I got Thunderbird established and working for years with multiple accounts. All of a sudden today, I can't send all messages in ANY of my accounts with several Web hosts. The message I get from all of them is:

The message send failed.
Check that your Mail & Newsgroups account settings are correct and try again.

I checked my settings. The look that is configured in the same way they always do. I can send email with these parameters from my phone (K9 Mail on Android program.)

All my accounts that can receive messages in Thunderbird. I get new messages and I can read them.

If I try to save a message as a project over IMAP, I get the error:

Unable to save your message as a draft.
Check that your Mail & Newsgroups account settings are correct and try again.

What could possibly change to make Thunderbird exhibit this behavior? I tried without thunderbird downgrade to the previous version and it still had the same behavior.
