Why isn't Windows 7 "Show me other ways to activate" on a virtual machine?

I try to activate Windows 7 by phone (because the machine is not an internet connection) for a virtual machine (I have a liscense for the VM), but when I try to activate, the option "Show me other ways to activate" is inactive (i.e. it is "grayed out"). Why Windows 7 doesn't let me access this activation method?

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

5) stay on the phone (do not meet all the automatic guests) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Why isn't Windows PE 2.0 available for free?

I paid for my legal copy of Vista Home Premium when I bought my computer, why so PE 2.0 available only if I buy a retail copy of the CD?   Microsoft makes service packs available for free why isn't PE in one of these?

I have a program to create images of backup of my hard drive.   Without a rescue boot disk, the image is useless.    I want to be able to retrieve my whole hard drive in the event of a disaster, not only my documents and files.   I don't want if sit and wait for SP2 to retrieve all published updates.  That could take days.  Macrium Reflect is a free software that allows you to do exactly that, the problem is, Vista is locked, I have to pay for the version that has the PE file that will allow me to create my rescue CD.   I can respect the fact that you don't want other software distributors using Microsoft property without paying, but I already paid for Vista.  What other programs Ichose to run with him should not be hindered by the latter.  Windows XP it didn't need, and these people are happy as clams.  Me. I'm not such a happy camper.  Vista was not one of the best products from Microsoft and I'm about to go back to XP, or jump up to Windows 7.   Vista was nothing more than a prolonged headache.

There must be a way to get Windows PE for free?

You paid for an OEM license of the manufacturer of the computer; not a Microsoft retail license...

It is up to the manufacturer of the computer, what they have on their recovery disks.

They only have to provide you with the means to reinstall Vista to factory settings; what they are doing.

They provide an easy way for computer users to recover and as soon as POSSIBLE running.

    It is a good alternative:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista , and just serves as a Windows PE for recovery of your PC interface. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

  • Windows XP Home Edition (Version 2002) include SP1 is the Virtual Machine for Java (MSJVM) installed on this and future Service Packs Microsoft remove it?

While the installation of Microsoft DirectX 9.0 c on my Windows XP Home Edition (Version 2002) operating system (not sure if the 2002 version in it's original state included SP1), EULA (EULA) provided the contract included a paragraph stating that "ONLY in regards to THE VIRTUAL MACHINE MICROSOFT FOR JAVA, YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED to INSTALL THIS OS COMPONENT ON A MACHINE THAT CONTAINS A ALREADY the VERSION OF THE MICROSOFT JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE". Assuming that the MSJVM was included with Windows XP Home Edition (Version 2002), I advanced and accepted the EULA. I then downloaded and installed Windows XP SP2 and SP3, but wasn't sure whether SP2 and SP3 removed the MSJVM in any point. However, research on the question, I discovered the site "FAQ of Transition MSJVM" (updated May 7, 2004), who answered the question: ' if I install Windows XP SP1a or later, it will remove my current MSJVM? " with "No, the operating system upgrade will not remove a MSJVM existing on the computer" (http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/en/us/interoperability/java/faq.aspx). However, I can't find any instance of it on my computer.

    So my questions are:

    1. Windows XP Home (Version 2002) Edition include SP1?
    2. The MSJVM is installed on this version?
    3. SP2 or SP3 removes the MSJVM in any point to?

  • Show desktop not the same number of vcpu virtual machine parent

    Hello

    I created a pool of 4 vcpu (Sockets 2 X 2 hearts).

The created Office use only 1vcpu...

    any idea?

If I understand the question, then it would be possible that the used snapshot happens to have 1 vCPU while the current state of the virtual machine that you used has 4 vCPUs?

In other words, when you base the pool on a snapshot, I believe that the State of the equipment at the time of the snapshot will be used, not the State of the current material.

I played DVD on my Windows XP Home edition before, he always played them very well, but then suddenly it stopped reading DVDs, everytime I put a DVD in (from the same DVD I used to play on the computer), all I get is a message that reads as follows:

When I say Windows Live Family Satey to block sites of certan for other people on my laptop that is not! Help, please...

    Hi Dylan,.

One possible way to solve this problem is to refresh the web filtering settings for your child by turning and then by following the steps below:

    1. connect to https://fss.live.com using your Parent account.
    2. click on change settings under the user name of your child.
    3. request for Web filtering, check the Disable web content filtering , and then Save.
4 tick to enable web filtering you can adjust the slider to different settings.
    5. Save.

After completing the steps above, remember to refresh the client of parental control to update changes made via the Family Safety website. To update the client, click the icon with the 2 arrows found in the upper right.

In addition, if you use select custom to allow and block Web site category please make sure that the domain of the Web site is included (.com, .net, or .org). Let us know what happens then.

  • Windows 8 shows the other user when I start. How can I disable this?

When I start my computer, I get a screen that says the other user. I have to hit enter where the password should go and then I'll get the back button which will reveal my user account, but the other user account is listed next to it. I don't have an active guest account so I don't know what the other user account and I can't turn it off. I had my computer configured to just start up and go to my Start menu. I'm not sure but I think after an update to windows 8 a few weeks ago he has changed. I took the shot of what it looks like, but I'm not sure how to download on this forum. I looked to see if anyone else has had a similar problem, but I haven't seen any. Anyone know what is happening? Thank you

    Hello

Before reinstalling the operating system, I suggest you update Windows 8. Check out the link to do so:
"How do I restore, refresh or reset your PC.
Read the sections "refresh your PC without affecting your files.
Note: The applications that came with your PC or you installed on Windows Store will be reinstalled, but all the apps you have installed other Web sites and DVD is deleted. Windows puts a list of applications on your desktop after you refresh your PC.

  • Why isn't everything: cache show me anything in my cache more?

I have the habit of using the add-on Cache Viewer, but that has stopped working. I tried to use the Cache Viewer2 add-on, but that no longer works.

Normally, when you open the about: cache page, you see three categories of possible storage cache: memory, disk and appcache. Then, you can see a link below each a slow loading page that lists the current cache entries. That all missing for you? Or the link does not work?

Note: I'm this display in Firefox 33, who changed a little more than 32 of Firefox, but I think that the raw edges are the same.

Another idea: you are using a private browsing window? If you start with an ordinary window, your private windows have a white-mask-on-purple-tab icon near the top right of the window title bar. If you automatically start in private browsing mode then the mask icon is not displayed.

You can check if you are using the automatic private browsing here:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > privacy

If the tab says "conservation rules: don't remember history" then automatic private browsing is in effect. To turn off, change the menu drop down of "conservation rules: use the custom settings for history" and then uncheck "always use the private browsing mode.

Line the bottom and by design, you cannot use Office remotely [DRC] to control remote computer access/one Windows Home Edition, IE. Win 7/Vista or XP.

You can use a computer Windows Home Edition remote access/control a computer Win 7 Ultimate/Pro, Vista Ultimate/professional or XP Pro/MCE with DRC.

It seems that your dad work computer is equipped to Win 7 Ultimate/Pro, Vista Ultimate/professional or XP Pro/MCE. In this case your computer laptop Win 7 Home Premium or the old XP Home computer can act as a RDC client or remote access control its work DRC host computer.

For you to remote control your computer XP Home laptop Win 7 Home Premium watch TeamViewer (free for personal use).

    http://www.TeamViewer.com

For you on the remote control the new laptop Win 7 Home Premium from XP Home watch TeamViewer computer or you can also try Windows Live Mesh 2011 remote connections. Personally in this case I would stick with TeamViewer just for the sake of consistency.
