    Hello Verashanley

    Since how long did begin?
You have added a new software or hardware to the system?
If the issue took place recently then you can try the system restore.
If you have recently added anything to the system (hardware or software), then remove.
If the system restore does not then check in Device Manager and verify that the network card is considered and no errors appear.
To open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click performance and Maintenanceand then click System. In the hardware tab, click Device Manager.
Check the type of network card you have and that you try to update the drivers from the hardware manufactures Web site.
Also, check the connection for the network adapter. Do you see any physical damage. When you plug the NIC saw all the lights on the network card lights up? If not, then you can deal with a hardware problem and need to contact the manufacture of the system and see about obtaining the card replaced.
Let me know the results. Thank you.
  • Updated IE7 to IE8 and lost my network connection, get the error "network cable is unplugged" which is not

After upgrade, network display icon with a red X through it indicating "network cable is unplugged" - which is not.  System Restore gave me back IE7, but without two of the toolbars (I've since found the fix for this - but too late).  Tried a system restore and now completely lost internet connection - IE will not launch.  Always get the message "network cable is unplugged".   I have reset the modem, but nothing works... should I ask Microsoft, HP, or my service provider (Rogers)?

    Thank you

    Hello MsC_99

Check the modem on the back of the system where the cable ether net branch. Think you that shed light on this subject? If this is not the case then you may have a problem with the NIC or ether net cable may have problems. If you do this then try uninstalling and reinstaling the NIC in Device Manager. If you don't see the network adapter in Device Manager then try booing the system BIOS and make sure that he is seen here. Let me know what you find. Thank you.
  • After a storm, my computer now says that a network cable is unplugged when plugged.

original title: a network cable is unplugged

There was a storm in our area recently and since then I can't access the internet.

I have cable internet via my modem which is also connected via my wireless router.  Both the modem and the router properly.  To make sure, I bi-passe the router and the modem directly connected to the computer.  I also bought new ethernet cables.  None worked.  My ISP says that there may be a problem with my NICK so I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still doesn't work.

NETWORK card: Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC

    Modem: Aris Touchstone Telephony Modem

    Wireless router: D-Link WBR - 2310

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

It seems that the network card was damaged after the lightning.

I suggest you to replace the card (if possible) network & check if the problem persists.

    Hope the helps of information.

  • Problems with my Intel Pro/100 VE network cable is Unplugged.

    Hi all

I have a Dimension 4600 desktop computer. I have Comcast Cable modem I use to go on the internet with. It is a direct connection as well. For some strange reason now I can't connect through the ethernet port. There is a big red X that says "a network cable is unplugged". I use the USB port on my modem to connect to the internet right now. I get the message that the network cable is unplugged, even if there is an ethernet cable connected. I have run all the diagnostics test and they all passed to the network except the link test. I did the update driver/all uninstall/install disk. Bought new cables and everything. Nothing. It may not be the modem or the cable b/c I can still play games online via Xbox 360 using the ethernet port modems. The 2 LEDs are on. Green is on and there is a flashing orange. I guess that I have a faulty port. Any suggestions or ideas?

    Thank you

  • Why did I lose all custom web site settings when the computer is restarted? For example: TV Guide returned to the East Coast instead of local cable operator.

I'm guessing that cookies are to be erased, but I set preferences not clear cookies. This happens when Firefox is closed. Only after restarting the computer.

What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?

Some security software has features of virtualization or sandbox which can cause protection problems and restoring files in the Firefox profile folder option after a reboot.

  • Satellite A120: Microphone does not work when the power cable is unplugged

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120, which has just begun to play up...

I regularly record music of my DJ Mixer in microphone of my laptop entry, recording in Adobe Audition.

Because the power supply makes a buzzing sound, I can't register with the power cable plugged... If I always record with the unplugged power cable, running off battery.

I've never had any problems before, but what has caused the problem, I now, was earlier the battery ran out while recording, put the laptop into hibernation mode.

Since then, I can't register with the power cable disconnected. He recorded only with the cable - which is not a good cause snoring.

It is not a problem with hearing, because in Windows Vista its implemented the problem proved too. As soon as I unplug the power cable, microphone disappears from view.

I used to work in IT support, so I'm not a technophobe - but I can't for the life of me works why it would suddenly start to occur, power is not related to the entrance it is micro... !

One of you lovely people have ideas? I checked power options and the Device Manager to see if theres no hardware issues, but there isn't.

I also reinstalled my sound card drivers.

It's strange. I guess you tried a boot cold fresh. Hibernation can sometimes cause problems with the devices.

    Try to update the BIOS.

If all else fails, you may need to reinstall Windows. (Backup your data and run recovery by holding down the button reset during power on)

  • Why my cable network keep disappearing?

    My network keeps disappearing.

It works very well for several days, then suddenly it disconnects.

The network itself works fine and accessible with the help of other computers. The router is OK and works correctly.

On the Windows 7 computer, however, the network turns off without warning.

Run the troubleshooter network leads to "no connection is available. But Wired etherenet is available and functioning OK. There is no problem if I remove the cable and plug it into another PC.

Something on the Windows 7 machine is clearly at fault - but what?

    Hello

I had already tried in safe mode and the problem persists.

I have, I think, discovered the issue.

Automatic update Windows 7 is activated and updated the driver for the network adapter to the latest version.

When I restore the old version, there is no problem.

There is clearly an error in the driver for the NIC - a card Realtek PCIe FF. The new driver is the problem - with the old driver, everything is OK.

  • Why mice don't unplug with iMac?

I've known iMac strange behavior.  Now, on a regular basis, then do not use the iMac a few minutes for somewhat longer periods, my wireless mouse does not connect to the screen longer.  Its pointer is always visible and it moves, but the mouse clicks do nothing to start the activity.  So I'm forced to make a motor stop just to regain functionality.  I also tried to use my USB mouse without success.  Recently, I had to reset the NVRAM because of problems of cycle sleep-too, then maybe there is something I need to do to regain full function of the mouse.

This is probably just a small problem with OS X, then follow this tutorial to learn how to update to OS X El Capitan:

  • A fundamental question on ESD - why localized? Is this causing problems in other languages?

If editors have a look on ESD, see the German orders or orders in their own language?

Can I just change to English instead of German commands?

    Apollo,

Start with any English ESD (I think there are in the German version of FM). Change its contents to the FM equivalent of:

You can do this by removing all the contents of the file and then insert the items above. Or you can change the first by removing all of its contents, except the and deleting the text in the . Then, remove all items except the above.

Hi, I am using a Dell Inspiron E1505... OS: Vista... 32 bit... IE 9... "." I never use the Ethernet connection to connect to the internet... Open to the top of my "Network connections" window and noticed my 'connection to the local network' has a red X and says "network cable unplugged"....." "" Broadcom 440 x 10/100 integrated controller. My toolbar in the bottom right of the screen displays an icon of two monitors with a red x as... I have made several attempts to fix using the "Microsoft fix - it Center... didn't help me..." also "diagnose and repair" on my laptop... no positive results... In the window "Network & sharing" "also shows a red X... Please advise... Best regards, John

    Hello

Reading between the lines a bit here, it is my understanding...

    1. Never use Ethernet, probably because you don't have broadband for some reason any?
    2. Due to the size of the download, you asked someone else to do it with no broadband?
    3. As a result, which is two screens with a red X icon, but never used to be there?

This icon with the red X is only informative. If you do not use Ethernet then you won't have connected cable, which means that the information you see on "network cable is unplugged" is correct. If you don't like this icon, you can hide...

    • Right-click on an empty part of the taskbar, and then click Properties
    • Click the Notification area
    • You will see a check box for the network, there uncheck and then click OK to hide the icon
    • Reverse this process, if you want to display the icon

Or is your problem you can connect is no longer with dial upward? If this is the case...

    • Click Start, type inetcpl.cpl and press enter
    • Click the Connections tab
    • 'Never make a connection' values? If this is the case, always select "default connection" (or "Number using whenever a network connection is not present")
    • Click OK

  • Unplugged network cable

    Hi all

I was invited to take a look at an old enough box office running Windows 7 32 bit Ultimate edition. Map of oboard nVidia nForce network constantly reports that a network cable is unplugged - this isn't, of course.

The owner told me that, once the machine has started, it must plug the router until the machine detects the connection. I brought the machine in my network and to see the same kind of symptoms, except that it may, or may not, to detect the connection to chance, no matter if I power cycle the switch from office to which it is connected.

I tried several different cables, ethernet, mine and without changing the owner

I found that the permutation of the speed / duplex settings on the Advanced tab in the properties of the controller to auto to 100 Mb Full Duplex causes the connection be detected until the computer is restarted. At that time, cable disconnected message returns until I exchange the speed / duplex back to auto.

I removed the controller from Device Manager and hosted Windows redetect, uninstalled and reinstalled the driver etc.

I have reset winsock / tcp.

In desperation I even set up a PCI network card (Realtek, I think from memory) and to people with disabilities the controller on board - the PCI network card shows the same problem, but is slightly less willing to connect when the speed / duplex setting is changed.

I'm sick of ideas on this one - any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    TIA

    Rob.

You may be able to find an Ethernet card that will fit the old man.  Should not be too expensive.

  • Network cable unplugged, but I promise you that's not!

I connect my computer to my Linksys router (this computer will not connect wirelessly).  Unfortunately, my computer thinks that the network cable is unplugged.  Let me give a few details before you continue!

Router: Linksys WRT54GL v1.1, with the firmware update

Ethernet card: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (with up-to-date drivers)

    Computer OS: Windows 7 64-bit

And now for the fun part.  First of all, I thought it was a bad ethernet cable, so I tried another and another still.  The cable doesn't seem to be the problem.

Secondly, I thought it might well be my ethernet card.  I plugged the ethernet cable from my modem cable directly on my ethernet card and was instantly rewarded with a connection.  With this, I noticed that my ethernet card is not the problem.

Third, I thought, well, it must be the router.  I tried all four ports on the back of the router to see if it was bad.  None of them worked.  The router shows not all lights for ports 1, 2, 3 or 4, regardless of where I plug. Progress!  Of course, it is the router, no?  In order to ensure, I ran a cable ethernet to the router to a laptop and has been awarded once more with a connection.  If the router is not the problem.

After doing some reading here and abroad, I have reduced my 'speed and Duplex"to 10 Mbps half Duplex.  Who has not solved the problem.

Any help would be immensely appreciated, because I'm quite frustrated.  Please let me know if I can provide more information for you.  Thank you in advance for your help!

My friend is a very nice person and so is his first wife. I get along with two of them very well, but they have been quarreling all the time while they were married. They are now divorced and married to new partners and the two relations are developing.

What this has to do with your problem? Well, your systematic troubleshooting effort eliminated all the simple causes of failure but it has not examined the issues of compatibility. I suspect that NETWORK card in your PC is just out of tolerance or is your router. Other devices can be a little more tolerant (as new friends partners), but together they won't work. How to test this? Here are a few options:

    (a) borrow a switch/router of different brand of a friend.

    (b) connect the two PCs on a switch that is not the same brand as your router, and then plug the switch on the router.

    Please post the result here!
