Why my 64-bit Windows 7 computer won't sleep without me having to stop it?

When I'm done for the day with my computer, I click on the power button that is preparing to sleep. Recently, I noticed when I wake my computer is also awake. Since then, I learned from my granddaughter that he wakes up around midnight. She also told me that another that wake up in itself nothing else produced, no program starts, no change of the screen, nothing he just wakes up. Please help me solve this puzzle. I am running Windows 7 64 bit which is an upgrade of Windows Vista 32-bit, and yes I have updated all the components for my computer 64-bit ready. I love Windows 7, but since I installed it my computer became little glitchy if it is a legitimate Word. But nothing for it, is as annoying as this revival on its own.

Have you visited your site of PC makers, so great oem for example Dell / HP or laptop and check the updated drivers specific to your model, and if a win7 PC generic your motherboard manufacturers website?

Have you also checked the schedular task to see if there are active tasks for this time?

Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 not recognized on the new 64 bit Windows 7 computer. The computer thinks I have a keyboard 600 wireframe. I tried to install the IntelliType 8.2 64-bit for Windows 7 driver but it tells me that I already have a newer driver installed and won't let me install it. • Computer won't sleep

My computer won't go to sleep at home. On the road, it does exactly what I want - after 5 minutes, he made a screensaver of my photos for 30 min, then falls asleep. Home, that she won't, the screen stays on the home screen forever.  Help!

I venture a guess that it is running on battery, on the road and connected to the House. You can define things upwards so that the computer handles things like the "sleep mode", etc., differently depending on whether or not it works on battery.

The first thing you should do is, make sure that your power settings are the way you want.
    To do this:

Place your mouse over the the battery icon on the taskbar and right click.

    Select "Power Options".

(You can also access power options through the control panel: start > Control Panel > system and Maintenance > Power Options.)

According to the plan used on your computer, click on "Change Plan settings".

As you can see, there are two different columns of parameters here, one battery and one for hip. Make sure that the settings for each column are defined as you wish.
You can access more advanced options by clicking on the 'change power avancΘs' link. Go through the list of parameters available with care, make adjustments if necessary. Click ok.

    Click "Save".
If this does not resolve the problem, please let us know.
    Best wishes

    Update for Windows Vista (KB2345886)

I found KB981957 to be the culprit on that I worked on a system of XP SP3.  With this update installed, I get an error C000021A Service Control Manager BSOD.  I have manually uninstalled this update by using the Recovery Console and then used Windows Update through IE and deselected this update.  All the other updates installed correctly and the system starts properly.  I would like to know why this update is causing this problem.  Anyone with the same problem?

It reminds me of a similar situation earlier this year with BSOD KB991765.  The cause of the BSOD is a virus that has infected system driver files.  Once clean, the installation worked very well.  I've done many scans on this system and have not yet found any viruses.

  • Can I use easy transfer of the hard disk Vista for 64-bit Windows 7 computer?

My computer laptop 32 bit vista is dead, but the hard drive is intact.  I can access it using a disk blacx disk drive hard usb.  All files seem to be good.  I gave the disc all permissions for changes, etc., so that it is not just to read only.  He sees my new laptop running windows 7 64 bit.  I found files in the record Office of the old drive so that part works.

I tried to use easy transfer in windows 7.  Installed on the old disk of vista.  But I can't launch the vista easy transfer since this computer is dead.

Is there a way I can transfer my emails, photos, documents and the itune files?

    Thank you.

You can use Knoppixhttp://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (made on a different computer).  This should give you sufficient access to the Vista system 'dead' (if you can not get in any other way) backup/transfer your important data (like everything else you mentioned) to the one you use (an external hard drive, flash player,...). You will not be able to save your settings or your programs because they require the enforcement system to use easy transfer and regular functions copy and paste will do the trick. If Knoppix doesn't work, try slaving the hard drive to another computer, and then after the data you want to save it.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • I have a problem with the network discovery on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer

    Frustrated.

I have a windows 7 PC!  Machine 64-bit allowing network discovery stay on.  I have several posts and all the necessary services are started.  I tried toroll return the machine when he was working last but nothing is.  I tried in safe mode with networking, the same results.  Same results restarted, used a different network location, same results.  I have nothing seems to change that at all.  All the other computers on my network work fineand I can see and access the device from other computers on the local network and can tire of the broken machineBUT files, I don't see anything else on the network of this machine.  Every day, I shoot files on the network, so it is a very useful tool for me.  Tere is no antivirus running on the computer, but I did an analysis away from the machine with the trend micro software which found nothing on the machine based on a virus.  Any help would be great.

good to have it fixed.  I think that it was a torrent that I downloaded.  Was a problem of windows firewall.  Open services.msc.  stop the windows firewall service.  Everything worked.  Went to tinyurl.com/pornofix and installed the software.  Entered into the software and some fix windows firewall and it ran.  restarted the computer and fixed.

  • is it OK to install a 32-bit microsoft visual c++ 2008 (x 86) on 64-bit Windows 7 computer?

Hi, struggled to install a piece of software recently, and developer said that I needed to install Microsoft visual c ++ 2008 redistributable. All other c ++ on my win 7 64 bit machine are 64-bit and earlier is 2008. Before I naively followed his advice, I need to know if it is OK to do.  Thank you, Jay

    Hello

You can install any version of the redistributable C++ as needed as long as you install
them to Microsoft. They are not included, so you may need more of a version.
64-bit systems may need both x 86 and 64-bit according to programs
they are running. X 86 systems is not necessary or can install the 64-bit versions.

    Hello

    ·         What is the Blue error screen that get you when you plug in the device?

Step 1: Download and install the latest driver/patch first and then try to connect the device.

Step 2: If it does not help, then contact the manufacturer to check if there is another way to install the drivers for this device.

    RESOLVED-

This problem was solved when I was in the 12 c to 11g database. There are few questions more even after decommissioning of the database (classnotfound and so forth), which was resolved when I went down the JDK from 8 to 7.

So to sum up, this was the full stack for a successful in my case - installation

    1 Windows 7, 64-bit

    2 JDK - 1.7.0_75

    3 SOA Suite - 11.1.1.7.0

    4 RCU - 11.1.1.7.0_32

    5 Weblogic - 10.3.5

    6 OER - 11.1.1.7.0

Hope this helps anyone who runs into a similar issue.
