  Open the drive, go to the edition menu > preferences > Page Display > rendering > set smooth text for laptop / monitor.

  Click OK to confirm the changes.

  Restart the drive and check if the problem persists.

  You can check your publication settings (File menu), in the Flash tab, there is a setting that control how compressed audio will be when the file is published. By default, it is mono 16 Kbps mp3, which is pretty bad (anything below 44.1 KHz is), and made to save bandwidth, not to keep quality. I might suggest to change this setting and see if it improves the quality of your sound.

  I stumbled upon the solution to my problem. I went to devices and printers and found a ball strange entry under devices. When I checked the properties of the device, I found that it is a multimedia audio device without any driver. I clicked on troubleshooting at the top of the screen and the computer lead me through the process of obtaining a driver for the sound card. Some times better to be lucky then good or smart! In any case, thanks for the advice.

  a. Click Start, click Run, type mmsys.cpl and then click OK.

  b. click on the Audio tab.

  c. in the sound recording section, click to select the playback device and the set it as the default device.

  d. click OK and then check if the problem persists. If the problem is not resolved, go to step 5.

  e. click on start, run, type mmsys.cpl and then click OK.

  f. on the Audio tab, click to select the only default devices check box use and then click OK.
