Why my emails are deleted 9/20 on today from outlook express?

I had over 100 emails disappear from 9/21 - today who has suddenly disappeared. What's happening w / outlook express?

They got probably deleted the file.  If this is the case, check the Recycle Bin for the bak files are backups of dbx files or restore from a backup.  If you have no backup, then my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) may be able to extract the messages from the file, if they are still there, or from the disk, if they are still on the disk clusters.

In the future, it is important to back up frequently, as often happens, especially if you leave the files go through a few hundred megabytes.

    Hi Marion,.

    The most likely cause is that you have a setting that is configured to do this in your e-mail program or in your online account.  I recommend that to start with your email provider to see if they can help you with this problem (as it's probably something in these settings, or they may be able to find the settings in the program that you are using if it's one they know).  If they can help or saying is not your online account settings, then we need to know the version of Windows you use, e-mail program, (name and version) you are using, or the browser you use to access the account.  With this, we can help you with the problem or refer you to experts that specialize in what you use.

    Thanks and good luck!

  • IMAP POP and all emails are deleted from the Outlook Express trash folder

    Changed POP IMAP email. If I go to my web mail and delete an email, it's in the trash. If I erase it from Outlook Express, it is neither in the OL bin or the trash of web mail... It disappears by the server and the Outlook. Go Daddy tells me that it's something on the side of Outlook, because they can operate through the correct web e-mail... I checked all my settings that I can find and I don't have to remove once to disconnecting or changing files... My purge is not set to happen... Need help... Thank you.

    It's as well as IMAP works, everything happens on the server, and what you see is a local representation. On new customers of e-mail (like Windows Live Mail and Outlook 2010) you have the ability to move these messages deleted on the record of deleted items on the server. you do not have this option with Outlook Express. I can't delete emails from outlook express.  I press the button Delete and nothing happens.  Any suggestions?

    Deleted items is probably damaged. On the off chance that you want messages to be saved in deleted items, (a garbage can), move them to a local folder, you create and then follow these steps.

    Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

    Spam emails are sent to all my contacts from scratch as if the email was from me. How to solve this problem?

    original title: Spam e-mails

    What do you mean by "archived" contacts?  If they are not contacts that are currently available to you, then there is no way that your PC could be sending mail to them.

    It's the easiest thing to send an email from any address you like in the world.  This is not an indication that your e-mail account has been compromsed.  He could have, but changing your mail server access password can prevent this.  The usual cause of people receiving messages that look as if they're from your is because your address was used as the address of sending junk e-mail.  It is very common and does not mean that your PC or any PC, you never hit sends the mail.  It is something that you can only order if your mailbox has been compromised.

  • Problem importing email files from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail. Not all the imported outlook express folders are visible

    I followed your instructions and now have "storage folders" visible. However that a single user account recorded message records showing if you keep double clicking and scrolling down. There are 3 other user accounts whose records are not visible. I tried as well by importing and using Windows Easy Transfer for all alphanumeric codes in Outlook Express. I signed into Live Mail using the other our of the user, but this does not solve the problem... Please tell us how to transfer files from my old computer Windows XP to the new W7 mail.

    Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For Messages:

    Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

    V-2009: open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    V-2011: Menu button. Import Messages. Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

    In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

    In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

    Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

    For WLMail 2009: Open list of Contacts in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

    For WLMail 2011: Switch to the contacts window (click on the book icon to the address at the foot of the folders pane, or press Ctrl-3). Click on the import button, select address book (wab) Windows and point on where it was saved.

    Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

    For the account settings:

    In OE: Tools | Accounts, select the account and export it to the desktop. This will be an .iaf file. Copy it to the new computer and WLMail desktop: tools | Accounts and import the settings from the location you saved the.

    Hello

    Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed on your computer? To work on this question, see these steps.

    Your deleted items folder is probably corrupted.  Close OE and delete the deleted items.dbx file.  OE will make a new and that should fix the problem.  Its a good time to save your messages if the records are get damaged.  You may lose all your messages.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#6

  • Help! -I can't delete messages in my Inbox in Outlook Express 6

    Hello.
    I can't delete messages in my Inbox in Outlook Express 6. An idea

    1. move all the messages that you want to keep out of the folders Inbox, sent items and deleted items and in other local OE folders have created you for archiving (backup) of such messages.

    2. Note the location of the store of your identity (http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain).

    2B. turn on "Show hidden folders and files" via start | Control Panel | Folder options | View (see http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html).

    3. close OE.

    4. in Windows Explorer, navigate to your storage folder, find & delete the files Inbox.dbx, Outbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbxand Deleted Items.dbx.

    5 empty the trash.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    To avoid such problems in the future, comply with the following restrictions:
    N ' not use Inbox or sent items to archive messages.  Move them to local folders created for this purpose.
    -Empty the deleted items folder daily.
    -Frequently perform a manual compact of all OE while records that "work offline".  More on http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm
    -Do not cancel automatic compacting, where it would happen and do not try to close OE via Manager tasks or stop your Automatic compaction machine can take place.
    -Disable e-mail scanning in your antivirus application.  It can cause corruption (i.e., loss of messages) and offers no additional protection:
    Can I combine email from Outlook Express?  & How does it work?
    To use the functionality of the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy), in a new message window, click View | All headers and type the addresses separated by a; Or: Click the button to. You will see your list of contacts and the choice to put them in the To, CC, or BCC field. Click on an address, and then click BCC to add it. Repeat for all of the contacts you want. (Note: most of the providers have limits as to how many messages you can send both a. 25 is common, but it varies).
    Put your own address in the box to. That's the only name/address that any recipient will see. If you leave the field empty, some people may not receive e-mail because of message rules they put in place, or restrictions imposed by their ISP.
    You can also make an entry in the address book using your e-mail address, but put something like the mailing list in the area of the display.
    *********************
    You can also create groups if you send e-mail to the same people often.
    To create a group of contacts:
    You can create a single group name (or alias) to use when sending a message to several contacts at the same time. Just create a group name and add individual contacts to the group. Then just type the name of the group in the box for when you send mail.
    1. in the address book, select the folder in which you want to create a group. Click New in the toolbar, and then click New Group.
    (b) to add a person directly to the group without adding the name to your address book, type the person's name and e-mail address at the bottom of the Properties dialog box and then click Add.
    to add a person to both the Group and your address book, click New Contact and enter the appropriate information.
    (d) to use a directory service, click Select members, and then click search. Select a directory service in the drop-down list at the end of the text box. After finding and selecting an address, it is automatically added to your address book.
    4. Repeat for each addition until your group is defined.
    Note
    a. to view a list of your groups separately from the list of address book in the address book on the view menu, make sure that folders and groups is selected.
    b. you can create multiple groups, and contacts can belong to several groups.
    If you want to send to a group without addresses are displayed for each recipient, open the address book and make a new entry. Enter the name of the group in the area of the display, but use your address. (Some Internet service providers require a legitimate address in the line to and recipients will know it's from the Group).
