Why my iCloud won't save my photos

I bought more storage but iCloud won't save my photos, I have 50 GB of data and its available 49.1 says. I'm afraid that if I restore it I won't lose all my photos and videos.

What makes you think that iCloud is not back up your photos? If you use iCloud photo library, the photos are "stored" in iCloud, but not in the backup.

Go to settings > general > storage & use iCloud > iCloud > storage management > your device. You see pictures in the backup?

  • Why the iCloud iPhone backup Photo lib is so great?

Settings-> General-> storage & use-> iCloud iCloud, manage-> backup storage, this iPhone-> watch photo library to use 2.9 GB.

    iCloud Photo Sharing ON

I deleted the backup, turned iCloud backup on again., and did a manual backup that seems to have solved the problem. The iPhone backup uses about 100 MB now that is what I expected. I'm still puzzled why he thought he needed 3 GB to save the picture before Lib.

  • If I save my photos on iCloud is it OK to delete them on my iPad or who will lose their

IF I save my photos to iCloud is safe to delete them off my iPad to release a certain storage capacity

No it's not. If you use settings > iCloud > backup backup of the iPad to iCloud, be aware that the only thing you can do with the backup is used to do a full restore or configure a new iOS device. If you do a full restore, regardless of data/photos currently on the device will be replaced by the contents of the backup (for example, you would lose any new photos and other new information on the device since the last backup). Also future backups include is no longer deleted photos.

If you use settings > iCloud > Photos > iCloud photo library, know that it is a synchronization rather than a backup. All the photos you delete iPad will be deleted to iCloud and any other device connected to this library to iCloud. You can possibly reduce the required storage on the iPad by activating the storage parameter optimize on the same settings screen.

Apple does not currently of any option storage cloud for photos only. You can explore 3rd party opportunities such as Flickr, Dropbox and others who may have cloud options only.

  • Why is the box to remember password is gray? It used to work now it won't save them.

Why is the box to remember password is gray? It used to work now it won't save them.

This could be because you have set Firefox not remember the history. Who did you intentionally? It is defined in the Options dialog box:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > privacy

Maybe it would work if you choose "Use the custom settings for history" and not to turn off specific things that you want to disable.

  • When I save my photos (once published) they are different from what I edited them as, why is this?

Hello, as seen here, I have my ready edited export the photo to the left and to the right is the picture saved in JPEG format, but they are different and this happens whenever I have save a photo could someone give me some ideas about why this is happening?

When you export pictures, color space must be set to sRGB.

The other possibility is that your monitor is properly calibrated.

  • If I no longer use iCloud I lose all my photos stored in the Cloud?

I am undecided if I want to upload all of my pictures on iCloud photo library. I learned by others than if I always chose to no longer use iCloud for storing my photos I'll lose these pictures. Another thing, what I was told is that iCloud store pictures for awhile and then I won't lose them. I'm confused about all this, but I like to use my Apple devices!

I know that many of you, Apple lovers know how to use this program better than most, please offer advice that you may have!

    Thank you!!

I learned by others than if I always chose to no longer use iCloud for storing my photos I'll lose these pictures.

If you use iCloud photo library, you have two options:

    1. You can download your photo library in iCloud, but keep all original photos on your Mac as well.
    2. You can transfer your photo library on iCloud and enable optimization of storage.  Then you can save storage on your Mac, but you will need to download the originals from iCloud, when you want to edit or export your photos. You can change, if you have an Internet connection.

Without optimization of storage you can disable iCloud library anytime, because all the pictures are on your Mac. If you "Optimize storage", you will have to disable this option and wait for your photos to download it again, before disabling iCloud photo library.  See this help page: https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.0/?lang=en#/phtf5e48489c (last paragraph).

Another thing, what I was told is that iCloud store pictures for awhile and then I won't lose them.

This applies to 'My Photo Stream', not iCloud Photo library.  iCloud provides many services to be used with photos.  My photo stream is a way to transfer photos between devices.  It broadcasts photos between devices and implements buffer your most recent photos for a limited time, so that all devices can download new photos.  But this isn't a photo library in iCloud, see: iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ

If you have a large library of Photos, you need a subscription paid iCloud to transfer the full library.

iCloud library is useful if you have multiple Macs or mobile devices and want to keep the libraries updated on all your devices.  Or if you want to be able to access your photo library in iCloud from mobile devices, because you don't have enough storage on the device.

But it is not intended as a backup of your photos with a cloud.  You will need to keep a backup of your library of Photos as well.

  • Why do I need to import existing photos?

All my devices are in the same Apple ID, sync all of them via iCloud photo library.

Backups are via iTunes to OS X.

Recently, I made the order and again sorted my photos of OS X.

    I 4920 pictures altogether.

Now I see on the Photos of OSX I need to import new photos that are already in my iPhone.

Why do I need to import existing photos? Why say that are just 4129 photos?

    Pls see photo...

    Thank you!

Now I see on the Photos of OSX I need to import new photos that are already in my iPhone.

Why do I need to import existing photos?

If you use iCloud photo library to keep your photo library in sync, do not import the photos again in the iPhone using a USB connection.

I suspect, you have set the settings > Photos & camera on your iPhone for iCloud photo library to 'optimize storage '.

This means that your original photos, full resolution are in iCloud and not on your iPhone at all.  Only if you browse your photos or change them to share, your iPhone will download new copies of the originals to iCloud for editing. Photos on your Mac does not recognize them as duplicates, because this local copies have different file names. You could import duplicates.

Skip the Import Panel in Photos when your iPhone is connected. Don't import anything, unless you have some new photos on the iPhone, that could still download in iCloud photo Library, because the iPhone couldn't go online.

  • When I turn on iCloud library in sync deleted photos?

I just updated my iPad 16 GB iOS mini 9 after cleaning of old photos, so there would be enough memory for the upgrade.  I have around 200 photos sync'd with my MacBook.  Why iOS these deletes if I turn on iCloud photo library?

I don't think that Apple never said 'why' and speculation is against the terms of use of this forum. However here is a method to deal with it. The information is of help with your photo library - Apple Support iCloud

iCloud library is not download photos and videos that you copy to your device in iTunes. To download the original versions, follow these steps.

OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 or later version

To download the original versions of your library of Mac, click Photos > Preferences and turn on iCloud photo library.

You can also use AirDrop to copy photos from your computer to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

    1. Make sure that you are connected with the same Apple on your iOS device and computer ID.
    2. Unlock your device iOS and Activate AirDrop.
    3. Open a new window of Finder on your Mac, then choose AirDrop in the sidebar.
    4. Drag the photos to the iOS device icon in the Finder window.

OS X Mavericks and earlier versions or Windows

You can upload JPEG photos using the Photos app on iCloud.com:

    1. Connect to iCloud.com wearing the same Apple ID you use to iCloud photo library.
    2. Click on iCloud photo library.
    3. Click on download.
    4. Select the pictures you want to download.
    5. Click OK.
  • Photos about El Capitan with iCloud library active lose local photos?

Recently, I wanted to use iCloud library to have a backup of my personal memories cloud. I had my library set up in the Photos of El Capitan and allowed iCloud photo library. It is still downloading but I have known a few disruptive effects.

Then, suddenly, I realize that a few pictures and movies have an exclamation point. Clicking on it it tells me that the photo was not able to find the original file, or sometimes he says he wasn't able to download the original to iCloud and I should try again later.

The thing is: I'm on the Mac, where is the main library of Photos. Must download from here. He is the master copy. Why pictures removed some local files in the first place and try to upload them to iCloud again when he should just have this file on the local hard drive? This happened to someone?

By logging into iCloud.com and go in the Photos app, I can see the movie file is there. So he managed to download there, thank God. But how can I re - link the file missing to this copy iCloud again?

Here are my questions for this situation.

    (1) is it possible to create a smart album showing me all the pictures to what Photos can't find the local file? An album with all the pictures and movies that have an exclamation point?

    (2) is it possible to reconnect a file missing a copy in iCloud? Where can I download the file from iCloud and re-connect the missing file of Photos in a local file on my hard drive? Or do I need to import it back this picture and put manually into any album that I had it in earlier?

    (3) is this normal download process? Pictures downloading images and movies to iCloud, then delete the original or download the file from iCloud? Is it a problem of weird first sync that will resolve itself once I have let the download process to iCloud finish? But why deleted pictures from the file in the first place? This seems odd to me.

    (4) if nothing helps and I see that iCloud got all original and everything is there, but local library refuses to get the original to iCLoud files, how can I reset my local iPhoto library and redownload all icloud without endangering my album, photos, videos and all the settings and changes I made?

Thanks for your help! It's really appreciated.

1 - iCloud iPhoto Library s not a backup - it is a method of sharing to ensure that libraries on multiple devices are the same - all changes made on any device are made on all

2 - doe photos not "remove" anything - users - if something is missing it's because of the action of the user

3 - Although what you see does not sound as if it was your problem before you start making changes allow the process to complete stabilize - during the downloading process things can be wobbly

    4. There is no smart album to identify the missing originals

    5. in the preferences Photos do youhave that it set to download the originals on the Mac or use photos optimized?

6 - did you do any cleaning system or run software cleaning as MacKeeper or CleanMyMac (Hint - NOT - they are not necessary and can spoil things wrong)

leave again once the process completed before you make changes - one each thing is downloaded and stable then return for further assistance if you need

  • Save selective photos on external hard drive

    Hi all

    I'm on 10.10.5 Yosemite

Re: Mac Photos - how best export / save selective photos on an external hard drive and clean disk space.

Problem: Photos to consume a lot of space and want to save / export pictures from 2011 to 2014 (value of 4 years) and just keep the current year (2015) for example. How do I get there?

Question: Mac 'Photo' stores all the photos in a single folder and access this file level understand I'm going to Show Package Contents > Masters after a right-click on the photo library.

Then, you can view all the files.

    Step 1

Is the best way to reach above it hang out in mac external drive 'Photos', I created via the Finder?

    Step 2

Then delete the files in the directory of Masters or the photo library

    Questions with above?

Thanks a lot for the advice and thoughts from anyone.

    concerning

Never make changes to the internal structure of the iPhoto or the library of Photos with the Finder or any other app ever.

To do what you want to do first export the images of Photos:

    File-> Export

and send them to your favorite place.

Subsequently, remove them from the library using the library interface.

    This trick of the user

    https://discussions.Apple.com/docs/doc-4921

a details of the options in the iPhoto export dialog. In a few minor differences, the options of Photos are the same.

That said, these are the images also on the iCloud library? Because if that will complicate things greatly. In addition, what you will lose the functionality of non-destructive editing. Better to save the images in a library of Photos and keep all of your options.

You can do this in several ways - split the existing library or create a new one and hover over the images. There are different ways to do it depending on what you choose.

Alternatively, simply move the entire library to an external.
