Why my Illustrator file linked with an opacity mask to my Indesign file a washed out appearance?

I have an indesign this work of Illustrator related uses of the file. The illustrator files contain opacity masks, and when I import into my layout indesign they give the bottom of the pages a washed out appearance. I noticed that the page in my project Indesign who doesn't have opacity masks linked seems fine.

So, I know that the opacity mask is performing the indesign document somehow but I don't know how to solve the problem. I tried merging the texture in the opacity mask, flattening of the illustration illustrator, paste the illustrator shape directly on the page, save the work as a PNG; but nothing seems to work.

Here is a picture of the page with the related work.

Here is one of how the page should look like.

Screen Shot 2016-06-04 at 11.07.51 PM.png

Here is the configuration of my illustration illustrator opacity mask. Its basically a group of white textures I pasted in the opacity mask. It's a single layer.

If anyone has any ideas or ideas, I would be happy. I hope I have provided enough details.

Thank you for all your help. I thought about it. I did the background texture in photoshop and converted to grayscale. Turns out I should have converted to CMYK. Once I did this everything unified in my indesign document.

Kind of a moment of c ' h but good.

Thanks again for all the quick responses.

Hello need help with the opacity mask. I hope someone out there can help

I inherited a logo that appears to use a Logo of OM has a shape with a grad. This grad at first sight is not used in the Grad scheme and there is not editable.  Looking at the transparency palette I find an OM (pic1) output option. If I choose what the grad on separates it from the page of the form, that is from there I can change/remove as required (Note2).

However, sometimes (he did no change), I'll be back to the same original form and output option is grayed out and is no longer available. Or I go to the similar shape that has the same treatment and I can't go out OM (pic3)

The only difference is the thumbnail in the transparency palette, which is strong in pic1 and rated on pic3. What Miss me?    I'm not clear what the advantage is simply OM using the Grad palette to apply a grad in my form, but until I can get rid of OM who is there, I can't comfortably apply to the grad I want.

The white gradient LHS I have no problem with. I choose fortunately only and each time get the possibility of release of OM.

The other thing weird. When I select the white gradient. Sometimes, the exit option is in the palette without going through the drop-down list (Fig 4).

Other times seems not that OM has already been applied, because the palette gives me the ability to mask rather than liberation (5 photos). Until I go to the drop down and then I find Release is an option after all.

What is the difference here?   Not much of a problem, because either way I can release OM to be able to change the grad.

The file is passed through several hands and play anywhere to try to resolve issues, and many stops and save slot, so something along the line was of course done a logo and not the other because of the difference, but I can't for the life of me see what that.

    Dave,

I've (mis) understanding the issues, you can account for the box to the right in the main palette transparency (called thumbnail) here.

Illustrator help | Transparency and blending modes

    represents the masking objects.

Some of your screenshots show no object mask, so it only is not really a mask even if do the opacity mask has been clicked and there seems to be one in the layers palette, wherever you look.

I think that it is perhaps the issue.

  • How can we transform an art opacity mask?

    Hi all

I created a triangle and created an opacity mask that own. Look in the opacityMask.jpg file

Now I used the AITransfromSuite::Transfrom () function to transfrom the own art. Own turns to a new location, but the opacity mask is not transfromed? Look in the transfromedTriangle.jpg file.

So, could you please tell me how we transfrom opacity to hide so that the inputTriangle and the transformedTriangle are the same?

I think I understand. According to me, it was a work of art with an opacity mask and he has transformed the art but did not move the mask opacity in art. The answer is, of course, that you need to transform art opacity as well. There is an option in AITransformArt.h - kTransformLinkedMasks - that will transform the masks if they are 'linked', which I believe is the case here. Assuming you are using AITransformArt::TransformArt (), associate this flag which have passed into the call and I hope this will solve your problem.

  • opacity mask - is never completely 0%

HI, I have a hard time with the opacity mask - he always leaves an advantage. I can't get really invisible.

    I have a solid square.

    I add an opacity mask.

I put a white on black gradient.

The edge is not fade completely nothing. He begins to maybe 5%, even though I have change the black to half way through.

It does in my head - someone knows how to get around it?

Is it possible that you use black only.

Try to use CMYK (100% in 4 colors) and see what happens.

You can sometimes get interesting results to play with color opacity masks.

  • Links 'Ghost' objects raster in Illustrator file?

An editor asked me to replace the low-resolution raster elements in my Kit. This is the file created entirely from vector objects in Illustrator and no raster object were used.

The file is massively complex with hundreds of items, and it is impossible to pick through each layer in an attempt to locate the offending items. Although I've never linked objects in this file, there are about 40 items listed in the links Panel. All thumbnails show light elliptical gradients on a black background. information for all is empty (name, location, genre, created, modified are empty, the size is 0 bytes) (see screenshots below). I have re-linked one of them to a PNG image random some vegetables with the hope of then to delete this object, but then could not find vegetables anywhere in the illustration.

Question 1: Is there a better way for me to locate the supposed raster elements in this file, simply open the links Panel?

Question 2: Why is there a bunch of links 'Phantom' in the links Panel, no link has ever attempted this file? Could they be somehow leading person production of the editor of believe it rasters into that file?

Question 3: How these links Ghost is removable? (When you click on "Go to Link", the work plan moves to show a certain corner of the illustration, but there is nothing that I can tell).

    Yes, it will be.

You had a transparency mask. SPE cannot contain transparency, so we must flatten transparency and process that raster images will appear for your transparency masks.

Once the content has been converted into rasters there no way to get a higher resolution in it. Instead, you need to increase the resolution before the conversion to the raster. Depending on how these transparency masks were created you need to increase the resolution in the effects of rasterization settings and/or you need to increase the resolution in transparency flattening settings that apply then turn that into rasters is when writing of the EPS.

So basically, that the editor do not know what they are doing, but they will have to.

  • Why is my Illustrator file so big, the EPS file is only bound?

I have a file in Illustrator CS4. I have a file EPS 20 MB that I placed a link in it. When I go to save it, the Illustrator file is 100 MB!

Why is this happening? Am not checking the correct settings when you save the Illustrator file?

    Please notify. Thank you!

Please try to uncheck "Create a PDF Compatible file" when you save the Illustrator file.

If you select this check box (the default is selected), Illustrator saves PDF data with embedded EPS data.

Maybe your linked EPS data is compressed, and then 20 MB on the desktop, but not compressed in PDF or less compress does cause huge size.

  • Particular Illustrator file links all appear as the large pixels in Indesign? (broken links)

I ran into one of those questions where I don't know what to even Google to try to resolve this problem. I made an illustrator file that all of a sudden connect correctly in InDesign, there a lot of art cards in there (21) that the link to the document number and this strange group of pixels now appears in all of them, put an end to any progress.

    Thanks in advance.

The file is saved with the PDF compatibility? And if the link is broken or out of date, you must remedy.

  • Help with the creation of color sets in the Illustrator file

I'm repeating a specific background image on every page of a calendar and want to change its colors on each page. There are 2 shades in the image using a total of four different colors. I am not at all skilled in the theory of color and I was wondering if someone can please tell me if there is an easy way to come with harmonious color combinations that I can apply to the original Illustrator file? My solution shortcut would be to convert color to grayscale and apply a color overlay, but the image will seem just flat when I do this. I prefer to set the gradients individually but do not know how to find the compatible colours.

Here's a preview of the image, followed by a DropBox link to the Illustrator file.

    Thank you!

    Couple for you ideas:

First of all, try to use the color wheel on color.adobe.com.  Select the middle color and add your hex code of the color.  The app will automatically show you similar colors.  See an example of here. You can also experiment with other rules of color in the color rule menu (just click on one of them).

Second, take a look at themes created by others.  If you are generally looking for colors that work well with the yellow, you can browse the most popular themes and identify some that use yellow.

    I hope this helps.

  • Linking of indesign and illustrator files

    Hello

I was wondering if it was possible to link files between Illustrator and Indesign and have an update in real time whenever I have to save the file, that I'm working on.

I would work on several designs on separate Illustrator files and would need files Indesign update accordingly when I save the Illustrator files.

    Is something like this?

(sorry if this is a stupid question, tried searching online and on the forum but can't find anything)

Files Illustrator that are placed in an InDesign document updates automatically if the Illustrator file is opened from the InDesign document.

Otherwise, the link will display as changed in the links Panel, and you can choose the update in the Panel menu.

In addition, when you open an InDesign file that changed the links, you will be offered a dialogue to update at this time links here.
