Why my Internet Explorer "sppol up" 40 000 k cpu to 700,000 when everything I am on is yahoo mail?

Internet Explorer "winds up" as I am on the internet more, it rolls up more. He starts using 40 000 MB of ram, then bfore I know, using its 600 000-700 000 KB and slows internet use. Why and how I fix this? I run only one or two programs at once, but it's like I have 20 applications using it. I have an inspiron free 20 200 on hard drive, windows XP home, 2002, SP 3. Celeron 1.4 GHZ, 1.24 G ram. I use Vipre Antivirus.

Hi, Timmaayy4U,

Many programs spend a lot of time to read and write data to disk.

The speed of the processor affects only "local tasks. It has nothing to do with how long it takes to get your e-mail address or download stuff on the Internet. The speed of your Internet connection is all that matters here. The speed of your microprocessor has more to do with how long it takes to make changes to the huge graphic images, or produce films or similar complex tasks that require a lot of internal calculations on a part of the computer.

Click the process tab for a list of all your current running processes, which are the bits of programs actually using memory. Click the memory column header to sort by size and easily identify the worst offenders

If you need more free memory, try closing some programs. If it is a persistent problem, consider buying more RAM. Also, remember that if your PC uses integrated graphics, buy and install a separate graphics card will release little RAM.

  • Gmail button (in internet explorer) keeps having moved to the right in my taskbar when I wasn't staying on the left (that's why I first open). How can I get the taskbar buttons to stop randomly to reorganize and stay in order?

Gmail button (in internet explorer) keeps having moved to the right in my taskbar when I want to keep it on the left (that's why I first open).  How can I get the taskbar buttons to stop randomly to reorganize and stay in order?  I'm talking about the buttons on list of my open applications and documents in Windows Vista.  The bar tasks are "locked", but the button of the window open with gmail in internet explore reappears suddenly in the good moments apparently random.

It is in the middle part of the taskbar (what I found online so far is on the start menu, the quick launch area or area/system tray of notification, the location of the taskbar in full, either about grouping taskbar - I disabled because I would like to separate).  Can anyone help?  I don't understand why this is happening (or why microsoft would never do).

Lock the taskbar that it prevents to be moved elsewhere on the office and maintains the different sections where they are - it does not block the tabs showing what is open where they were when they were opened.  There is no control for this function.  Maybe if you uncheck similar taskbar buttons group it will help, but I honestly don't know (and fear he won't make any difference - it may even make things worse).  This also happens to me and I was unable to find an answer.  I think that there are more than just random, but I can't telll you why he moves the legs periodically (sometimes it works fine all day and other days it happens almost immediately).  But still, there is no control for this function, so there is no way to tell him to keep a specific order or to lock an established order, once it has been created.  I suspect that it happens because the notification area icons appear and hide and new programs open and close and which changes the amount of space available and so he rearranges things so that they match and apparently does not always consider the original sequence in which the elements have been added.  Maybe if you remove the Quick Launch toolbar and then add again, the order will reset (but that I know not - probably not in the original sequence, which I doubt is logged nowhere - it did not work when I tried it).

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution to this problem (and I spend a little time looking for even before myselff posed the question) and do not believe that there is a.  It is also unfortunate that you can't move them so they can be put back in the right order if they change.  I don't think that there is nothing wrong with your system or that it is something that can be repaired or fixed - it's just the way it is and we just have to live with it.  I don't know any 3rd party software that controls the order of tabs open in the taskbar program (but you can check out Bing, Gooogle,www.tucows.comand www.download.com to see if I'm wrong on this - here n "t all when I looked trying to solve this problem for my own system).

I'm sorry it wasn't what you wanted to hear, but it's like that.  I don't know if it's different in Windows 7.

    Good luck!

See the following points that will work for you...

    1. If it is not too long, see if doing a system restore will fix the problem. Choose the date when IE ran okas your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

    2. start > Control Panel > Internet Options > advanced > reset > OK

    3. open IE > tools > compatibility view settings > check mark on display all websites in compatibility view.  (You can change it back at any time by just uncheck that box).

  • WHY my internet explore Windows keep crash

I constantly get this problem of windows internet expolrer knows a failure and closure. I paid for this service, help me or I'll go somewhere else.

I have already provided this information:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936213/en-AU?p=1

Method 3: Run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode

Add-on Internet Explorer, such as ActiveX controls and browser toolbars, are used by some Web sites to provide a better browsing experience. An error may occur if an add-on is damaged or if an add-on conflicts with Internet Explorer. To determine if the error is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start and then type Internet Explorer in the box to start the search.
    2. Click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Internet Explorer opens without Add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.
    3. Test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly. If problems still occur, try Method 4.

If no error occurs, the problem is caused by one of the Add-ons that typically load with Internet Explorer. In this case, use one of the following options.

    Option 1: Reset Internet Explorer

Reset Internet Explorer to its default configuration. This step will disable also any add-ons, plug-ins or toolbars that are installed. Although this solution is fast, it also means that, if you want to use one of these modules in the future, they must be reinstalled. To reset Internet Explorer settings, use method 4.

Option 2: Use the add-on management tool to determine which add-on is causing the problem

Use the tool of management of Add-ons in Internet Explorer to individually disable each add-on to determine which add-on is causing errors. To do this, follow these steps:

    Internet Explore 7

    1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
    2. Click Tools, point to manage add-ons and then click Enable or disable add-ons.
    3. In the box display, select Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all the modules that are installed on the computer.
    4. For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click on disable under settings.
    5. When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK.
    6. Quit and then restart Internet Explorer 7.
    7. If the problems do not occur, repeat steps 1 to 3.
    8. Click Activate for a simple add-on.
    9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you determine which add-on causes errors occur.

    Internet explore 8

    1. Open Internet Explorer 8.
    2. Click Tools, and then click Manage Add-ons.
    3. In the drop-down view menu, select all add-ons to display all the modules that are installed on the computer.
    4. For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click disable in the information window.
    5. When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK.
    6. Quit and then restart Internet Explorer.
    7. If the problems do not recur, repeat steps 1 to 3.
    8. Click Activate for a simple add-on.
    9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you determine which add-on causes errors occur.

  • When I download an update for a program it opens Internet Explorer and not Firefox

Firefox is always kept open on my PC. When I have an update of the program, I accept that but then Internet Explorer opens for me to download the update. It would normally usually Firefox. Why opens Internet Explorer and not open in Firefox as per normal?

Which depends on the program involved. Some programs will use the default browser , that the user has defined in preferences, while others will use the browser that comes with the operating system. IE in the case of Safari on Mac and Windows.

You have Firefox set as default browser in Vista?
