Why my PC2 cannot ping 172.16.0.11?
Hi all
In a first time, I learn the Cisco networking so apologies if this is a stupid question. I have a following.
Now, OSPF, I have it configured on routers R1, R2, and R3, and I see that the OSPF seems to have done his job very well, take a look:
R1:
172.16.0.0/16 [110/128] via 10.0.0.11, 00:53:00, Serial0/0
C 10.0.0.0/8 is directly connected, Serial0/0
172.0.0.0/8 [110/192] via 10.0.0.11, 00:53:00, Serial0/0
192.168.0.0/16 C is directly connected, Ethernet0/0
R2:
Gateway of last resort is not set
C 172.16.0.0/16 is directly connected, Serial0/1
C 10.0.0.0/8 is directly connected, Serial0/0
172.0.0.0/8 [110/128] via 172.16.0.11, 00:53:20, Serial0/1
R3:
1.0.0.0/24 is divided into subnets, subnets 1
C 1.1.1.0 is directly connected, Ethernet0/0
172.16.0.0/16 [110/128] via 172.16.0.1, 00:57:26, Serial0/0
10.0.0.0/8 [110/128] via 172.16.0.1, 00:57:26, Serial0/0
C 172.0.0.0/8 is directly connected, series
The client who is connected to R1, now has a default gateway of the router R1. as shown in the figure above.
This client can ping both interfaces of the router, but what I can't do is nothing beyond, ping as I can't ping 10.0.0.11 or 172.16.0.1 even if I can do it from router with no problems.
Am I missing something? Help, please!
On the R1, 192.168.0.0/16 is added to OSPF?
Can you post 'sh run' and "sh ip ospf whinny" all 3 routers?

Thank you!
Geoarge,
iSCSI traffic uses a VMkernel port, instead of using the command 'ping', use 'vmkping '.

I can't ping my router or other device on my network, and can't connect to the internet.
I can ping myself or the local host. I use a wireless connection. The wireless connection icon shows the status connected with a staff of excellent.
I ran the Diagnostics network and everything he told me that if he failed because he cannot ping the router and DNS servers.
I don't know why. Can someone tell what to do next?Solved.
If you missed all info, all you had to do was ask. I don't remember do not provide that whatever it is asked.
In any case, I tried to connect an ethernet cable from the vrouter in it mobile and connected to the network immediately ITI.
I don't know why the diagnosis doesn't have to indicate the wireless card has been a problem. It shows that its correct operation. Now, I even once to download and reinmstall Norton. I hope their support will provide me with the correct key. I'm happy I don't have to wast of countless hours to redo my network addressing scheme works.

Customer remote VPN cannot ping certain IP
My Cisco VPN client can establish the tunnel with my successful ASA5505 Office vpn but cannot ping some IP such as an internal server (10.100.194.6).
FIREWALL-1 # ping 10.100.194.6
Type to abort escape sequence.
Send 5, echoes ICMP 100 bytes to 10.100.194.6, wait time is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 per cent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 1/1/1 msWhy I can't ping certain IP?
Help, please.
Thank you.
Hey Kevin,
Check out the capture, it is obvious that there is a problem of internal routing as we can see packets from the VPN client requests, but there is no response from the server package.
Please ensure that the server has pointing on the Firewall VPN subnet route.

ICMP is not a protocol with the State, to allow ping trought the PIX, you must add extra lines in your access list on the outside!

Why clients cannot mutually ping on the VPN tunnel?
Hello
Create a NAT0 ACL at both ends.
ex: 10.30.0.0 ip access-list extended SHEEP 255.255.0.0 allow 10.45.0.0 255.255.0.0
NAT (inside) 0 access-list SHEEP

Edit: at the beginning, I mentioned ACL #, it may not work.

Cannot ping computers on the subnet remote site vpn while to set up
Hi all
I encountered a problem of site to site vpn for ping answered nothing of machines of remote subnet.
the ipsec tunnel is ok but I can ping the ASA distance inside the interface ip
Here is my scenario:
LAN1 - ASA5510 - ASA5505 - LAN2 - ordinateur_distant
LAN1: 192.168.x.0/24
LAN2: 172.25.88.0/24
remote_machine_ip: 172.25.87.30
LAN1 can ping to ASA5505 inside interface (172.25.88.1)
but cannot ping ordinateur_distant (172.25.87.30)
Inside of the interface ASA5505 can ping ordinateur_distant
LAN2 can ASA5510 ping inside the machines on LAN1 and interface
Is there something I missed?
Thanks much for the reply
I don't think it's something you really want to do.
If you PAT the whole subnet to LAN1 ip (192.168.1.0/24) to 172.25.249.1, then LAN2, will not be able to reach the specific host on LAN1, cause now, you represent the LAN1 network, with a single ip address.
So traffic will become a way from LAN1 can reach LAN2 and get the response of LAN2 through the PAT on 172.25.249.1
But LAN2, is no longer specific hosts LAN1 ip traffic, since you only have 172.25.249.1, to represent the subnet to LAN1.
If you still want to PAT the whole subnet to LAN1 (192.168.1.0/24) ip to 172.25.249.1, then you have to do outside the NAT.

DLR Uplink and GSS internal transit same VXLAN cannot ping each other.
Start with, I run NSX 6.2.2 firewall rules on 'allow all' to 'all' to 'all' "all protocols", in other words disabled...
I have a VXLAN 5000 transit, with an uplink DLR interface attached to it, and an internal interface GSS in the appendix in which neither of the parties can ping to another. So for troubleshooting, I added 2 VM Windows attached to the same transit VXLAN 5000, a virtual machine is on ESXi host 1 and the other is on host ESXi 4. They can fine ping each other, and two virtual machines can ping both the uplink of DLR and internal interfaces of the GSS.
This question has puzzled me because it makes no sense, why the DLR and the GSS cannot ping each other but 2 virtual machines that VXLAN can ping all adjacent devices. I can even put bridges on those virtual machines with a rule NAT on the GSS and those virtual machines can get internet through the GSS, but no matter what I try, the DLR cannot ping the GSS, and the GSS cannot ping DLR...
I need to define a static route between the GSS DLR <>- but if I can't even answer ping interfaces I'm dead in the water.
If I install virtual machines in a network LAN DLR interface such as WebApp and test for example database, I can ping throughout the DLR together until the IP DLR Uplink, but then he cannot ping the GSS internal.
Does anyone have suggestions for troubleshooting? Test commands that I can run? I tried many things and then lots of websites with the troubleshooting steps. Everything seems fine, all green checks in the installation steps... All roads, MACs, ARP tables appear as expected when I run test on host computers commands and controllers. I don't know what is the cause except for a bug in the code...
All ideas are welcome... Thank you
UPDATE:
Yes, so it has need of a static NAT rule on the GSS...
In my environment, I added a SNAT rule on adapter: ESG_Uplink with 0.0.0.0/24 CBC-translation dst: 1.1.1.101 (my lab ESG IP Uplink).
It works now... VM tenant box connected to WebApp portgroup (192.168.13.115) can now ping gateway DLR, through routing OSPF to the GSS and ping on physical bridge of...
I learned a lot on this one... I'm not going to worry about why the static route, I tried first post didn't work, since I was the OSPF running instead (which is more appropriate for my laboratory for realistic scenario anyway), and the Foundation will now suffice to build the rest of this POC vRA / vRO lab...
Thank you in any case, sometimes it's just nice to have someone to listen.

Cannot ping new addresses IP vmkernel
I created a few exchanges of vmkernel iSCSI in new bond for our 10G storage on a new vSwitch but I can't ping the IP addresses assigned to them (10.1.45.187 and 188). I have the same setup on a different host and it works very well. I swapped the connections on the 10G switch with those of the host of work as well as cables, so I know it isn't a switch port, the switch config issue or the cable. I even swapped the IP with the work those just to make sure.
But if I SSH to another host on the same network I can ping those IP vmkernal addresses I can't from my desktop. I can also ping vmkernel IP addresses on the host of my office work that is on the same subnet as the host of non-working. I cannot ping the vmkernel IPs of a host on a different subnet, but can ping ports vmkernel work of host to a host on another subnet.
I don't know that it's just something simple that I'm missing... I hope!
Don't ask me why I have not found this before, but here's the answer to my question. I can give me points?

WAG320N - LAN clients cannot ping clients WLAN.
Hi all
I wonder if you can help. I currently have a router WAG320N, which seems to work out for a small problem.
However, the problem I am facing is that my LAN clients cannot ping my clients wireless and vice versa.
I googled this problem which has recommended that the AP isolation is off which is was by default.
Any other ideas?
Thanking in advance.
Sprite
As you are not able to ping customers wireless to wireline customers. Turn on the isolation of the AP.
See if that helps you.

Cannot ping PCs within a LAN + results inconsistent telnet
Hello
I developed a small application send datagrams via a multicast address. This application also listens 9750 on tcp port. I am testing in a LAN delimited a WRT54G Router with two computers with private addresses (192.168.1.10x). One works on Vista, the other on XP.
I tried ping on the two computers together without success. I only get time-outs. Yet when I run telnet from the XP PC on the Vista PC 9750 port using its private address, it is sometimes successful, but not always.
Do you know why I can not ping the PCs with success? And why does not the result of Telnet? Is there a setting that I should check on the router? Pointers are welcome!
Thank you
J.
Hello
By disabling the firewall on both computers, I managed to ping them now. And Telnet works in two ways. It wasn't a router problem. Sorry!
Thank you
