• HP Photosmart 5520 does not print in black ink.

  Black doesn't print not... except on the print quality diagnostics page where the text and black frames around boxes all print in black.  Inside of the 'Black' box is empty, however.  When I try to print a page of type, it is either totally empty or very indistinct.  How is that possible?

  I saw three other posters with this same problem, everything from 21/01/14 and no answers to the problem.  All the patches of troubleshooting on the Web page do no good.

  My warranty has expired also.  Is this a systemic problem?  How do we get fixed?

  I understand that the black is not printing on the computer but prints partially on the diagnostics page.

  I'll be happy to help you.

  I don't know what you have tried so far the fix, but I included a few documents to go through the steps to see if we can solve this problem.

  This printer has a permanent print head. You can always run however of cleanups on the print head.

  This document is intended printer does not print black ink or color ink or prints blank Pages.

  Here is a document to clean the contacts of the cartridge.

  'Cartridge problem,' 'Cartridge missing or damaged', or 'Not compatible ink cartridges' Message is displayed on the control panel.

  Please let me know the results if you are still having problems.

  You use genuine HP cartridges?
  Check the date on the cartridge to make sure that they are still in warranty. (not old stock)
  What are the ink levels?

  If you like you can print a new diagnostic test page, scan it and include it in the post, I can take a look to try to find a way to solve this problem.

  What is the correct way to insert the card?  Is a required adapter?

• Photosmart 5520 does not illuminate

  Hey,.

  After disconnecting and reconnecting the printer on the wall, it shows no signs of activity more.

  No lights are on (outside and inside the printer) and we can not turn on with the switch. It worked fine before. We tried several places where we can connect the printer, nothing has changed. We also tried a different cable, also did not work.

  It is not in sleep mode I see on the internet, it just shows no signs of life. Also it does not resemble the broken delayed or anything.

  Any help is appreciated!

• Why Firefox does not scroll the page when choosing & the cursor reaches the bottom of the screen

  The selection of text on a page of the screen when the cursor reaches the lower edge of the screen in Firefox (version 9.0.1) does not scroll. Other programs (including IE) do, so it doesn't seem to be a local computer problem.
  I don't see a setting in the page options that enables / disables this then what is the solution?

  Activate the module bar (Firefox > Options or view > toolbars;) CTRL + /) or find bar to make Firefox scroll the page while selecting the text (Ctrl + F).

  having a little trouble here!  My printer tells me its in "error state" and custom nothing I ask it to print.  I turned it works, disconnected and re connected, downloaded diagnostic tool that says everything is cool and actually allows me to print a test page, so I know its connected.  Heck, I even tried rubbing my stomach to the right while stroking my head and running in a circle shouting banana, banana, banana (bit of a long shot that would work I know but worth it) but nothing seems to work.  Need help please!

  I have connected my hp 5520 for the wireless, but my computer can't find it when I try to connect to it.

  The IP address of your printer has probably changed and perhaps as well password security.   I suggest you http://www.hp.com/go/toolsdiagnostics.   If the diagnosis he doesn't solve the problem then you may need to reinstall the driver.

  Another possibility would be to find the IP address of your printer (to print a Network Setup page) and enter this address in a browser window to access the embedded Web server printers.  This would at least check that the printer is visible on the network of your computers.

• Why my digital photo timestamp does not change an hour when I watch it on XP and Vista?

  I have pictures stored on an external hard drive.  When I look at the timestamp for the pictures, the weather changes an hour.  For example, on Vista computers it will show at 11:14 and when the external hard drive is connected to the computers XP the same image shows the timestamp at 10:14.  Each photo with a time stamp will show a difference of one hour.

  All computers (2 + 2) are set to the same time zone and the time automatically change.  The timestamp shown in mountain time zone, but that shouldn't make any difference that it simply means that the time stamp on the original camera took at the time of the Rockies.  It's just that I do not see why time passes at a time according to XP or Vista.  If this is indeed the reason for the time has changed.

  Who knows what happens?    It is somewhat important to me because the photo in question is taken from the balcony of a hotel room at 08:14 or 07:14, and an hour's difference may indicate that my wife slept there with another man or just dropped by this morning to say 'Hi '.  At this time of the year, mountain was different from the time of Honolulu three hours.

  I've been running Firefox for centuries now, no problems previously.
  All of a sudden it does not load any page when I launch FF as a normal user. If I run FF as admin, everything works as it should.

  Unfortunally suggestions do not solve the problem.
  I discovered that it is in the antivirus (AVG). Once I turned off AVG, FF works as it should.
  One way or another AVG don't like FF.

  In retrospect, the problem started with the AVG Free upgrade to the paid version.
  I'll send moy.
  If the issue is resolved, I'll send another answer.

• Photosmart 6510 does not print in black

  My photosmart 6510 does not print in black. I presume that it was the cartridge but I replaced the cartridge and it still does not print. I cleaned the print heads and the cartridge ink levels are full.

  The printhead, cleaning of the screen failed touchscreen printer running.  But when I sat down at my computer and used the program utility printing, he did.  I ran an initial print head cleaning my computer and then clicking the button indicating that the print heads were NOT clean.  He then ran a deep cleansing process.  Then I lined up the printheads of the same print utility program.  Now it works!

• HP Photosmart 5514 does not print correctly

  I have a HP Photosmart 5514 All-in-on the printer. I restarted my laptop and now it does not print right.

  The printer prints the test page (chosen among the parameters of the printer) just as it should and it also prints everyting I scanned (pdf), but nothing else, really. Of other pdf files, it prints only the hyperlinks, but not the text. No print from word, excel or the web browser.

  It will be not as copy. It scans alright (in a file), but the printing part is the problem.

  I deleted all drivers, restarted the computer and installed all the drivers available. I made this 5 times now and nothing works. I have windows 7 and I'm using the USB cable. The printer was working with the same computer and the same software before maintenance.

  I saw your post on your Photosmart 5514 does not copy and not printing from your computer, however, it will scan. I will do my best to help with the problem to see if we can fix it for you.

  Try power resetting the printer to start:

  Press the power button to turn the product on.
  With the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
  Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  Wait at least 15 seconds.
  Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
  If the product does not light by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

  When the printer powers back up, try to make a color copy from the front panel of the printer.

  On the computer, run the print and Scan of the doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there is a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.

  Please respond to me with the results to look over it, and we can go from there if necessary.
