Why should I back up before the upgrade

Apple gives to think that I have back up before upgrading. Why should I do?

In this digital world, the better to protect your data is backup, backup and backup.

Between 0 and 1, a lot of things can happen, once gone, he disappeared.

In any case, it is your duty & responsible for your own data and not Apple.

You have been warned. Answer to yourself.

It's more than likely the problem. The Adobe Acrobat Reader software is not an 'upgrade' to Adobe Acrobat. Acrobat will open and convert .jpg files in PDF, free player open that pdf file.

If you want to 'upgrade' and need this capability, you must update to Acrobat, not reader.

The good news is that you should always have Acrobat on your system. Open it and use it to open the .jpg file.

For example, before the upgrade, I used to connect to jud.ct.gov. Links hyperlinks to various publications and Web sites internal to jud.ct.gov appeared in red so that I could easily see and choose the one I wanted. Now, they appear white and I do not see them unless I have pass the mouse over the element. At this point, it turns red so I can see which link to click.

I just checked the menu options in XP. It is identical to Windows 7.

  • Windows 7 upgrade advisor, Vista, says that Firefox must be uninstalled before the upgrade and that I won't be able to reinstall it, is it true?

I'm currently running Vista, 32-bit. I am considering upgrading to Windows 7. I ran the report Upgrade Advisor and he said "Mozilla Firefox 20.0.1 must be uninstalled before the upgrade to Windows 7. You will be able to reinstall it after upgrading to Windows 7. "This seems inaccurate info, based on the Firefox site, but I want to check what I have to do before you start the upgrade. Leave Firefox installed and in place when I update or uninstall and reinstall then after the upgrade?

Hello herplaw, you're right, this doesn't look good - firefox will work fine on windows 7. I leave it installed and to proceed with the update. in any case (if you need to reinstall it later), you can also save personal information that is stored in your firefox profile before continuing: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox

If you have used any other processor of professional quality (for example, Microsoft Word), and then just go ahead and use the current culture of free (financially) applications on devices you mention. It will not take too long before you understand point Apple of giving them. No application in the world can open documents Pages but the most recent version.

Free will begin to erode when Pages for Mac forget how to open a perfectly fine document that you saved an hour or two ago. Or you realize you have to press the SHIFT key every time you want a first word in a sentence. Or you can not bind the text boxes to the text layout advanced stream. Or you can't do data merge / e-mail. Table of contents page links or comments will not export to PDF.

Pages is not a clone of Word, and you'll quickly realize that Pages input/export deal with the translation. Open a blank document. Type the letter "A". Export to Word .docx. It will be 494KO in size. Do the same thing in LibreOffice or MS Word and it will be 8 KB.

original title: Windows 7 upgrade from VISTA?

    Hi Jrawie,

If you want to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7, you won't lose iTunes music library. However, there is a chance of losing the music of iTunes library if you choose custom installation.

  • Updated Photoshop CC and now it crashes.  How should I take this back to before the update?

I spent 3 hours this afternoon trying to get help from the cat but nothing is fixed.  I have photoshop, lightroom, and bridge.  Updates to Lightroom and bridge agree. How can I reinstall the CC PS before the update?  My Macbook Pro is not able to manage it, maybe... being older video card.  I have a backup on my external hard drive, but it does not work correctly if I'm well obviously not doing it correctly. I'm not all that technical, but I can follow the exact instructions.

My Office CC is not any 'previous Versions' of applications so I can't take it back to 2014 version.

Please can someone help get this sorted out?  I would really appreciate it.

  • Do you need to uninstall MSE before the upgrade to Windows 7?

There is no place in upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, so disabling or uninstalling, so be it, you will need to do a custom installation.

    The upgrade to Windows XP?

Please read these instructions carefully and completely before you begin installing Windows 7: there are important steps that you must follow to upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 in order to preserve your files and settings.

Before you begin, you'll need to backup all your data to an external storage device, and you will need all the installation discs for the programs that you want to keep. Please make sure that you have an external hard drive (see details below).

More detailed instructions are available at windows.microsoft.com/upgrade-windows-xp. Here are the basic steps.

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor (windows.microsoft.com/upgradeadvisor) to see if there are known issues that may affect the installation and the question of whether you should install the version of 32 or 64 bit Windows 7.

2 back up your files and settings on an external hard drive using Windows Easy Transfer (windows.microsoft.com/windows-easy-transfer). If you do not have an external hard drive, you will not be able to use Windows Easy Transfer. Alternatively, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick, CD or DVD.

    3. you will need to manually reinstall your programs, such as Microsoft Office, after I installed Windows 7. Gather the installation for your programs and all partner/license product key discs. You may be able to download programs from the Internet. For example, Windows Live Messenger can be installed from the download.live.com/messenger.

    4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)."

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, use Windows Easy Transfer to restore your files and settings.

If you are not comfortable Windows 7 installation, check with a local retail or the services of the PC company store to see if they offer upgrade services.

  • Why should I Windows 8 for the 30 minute increments in the parental control?

As a developer of software using languages and platforms of Microsoft, I understand how planning works in an application. Why should I upgrade to Windows 8 to get the opportunity to restrict access timed to a PC safe family 30 minutes increments? This is no logic, except if it is half cooked to inform users to upgrade. This is a feature I've wanted since we began using the parental control and I can only assume the developers actually do not use the product, they have created because it really shouldn't been missed for this long. It should also be a simple change in the code to check every 30 minutes instead of 60. Maybe the team of parental controls overlap or had their budget reduced to the point that they cannot make such a simple plus change. I understand, I am in the software. I know it's less than constructive but it's annoying to know different. It's annoying to 'upgrade' to 2012 Essentials see virtually no difference in the features. Your users are not YOU!

  • Why should I buy Toshiba in the future?

I would like to ask what is the point of buying the Toshiba for the future? What should motivate me? I know that their laptops are pretty cheap prices for the products that they understand, but with such terrible support?

I have the Qosmio F50-125. I bought it 3 years ago. As I bought, taking PILOT was TERRIBLE. For example every 3 years, they released 1 single DRIVER for the video! 1 ONLY! To 07/28/08 (for Vista).

Of course, there is a 'New' driver for windows 7 from 2009. But that's all! When you buy a product, you expect to have good support. Especially when guaranteed Toshiba is "matter of 1 year what + 3 years warranty abroad". You expect to have at least 3 years support when you get a 3 years warranty, but no, they update the drivers for the 1st year and that's it!

+ All new updates (which are 2, 3, for Bluetooth and wireless) are for Windows 7. This laptop is initially sold with Windows Vista. Nowhere says that if there is an option for the upgrade. I called and asked Toshiba if I can update (if it offers this service) and they responded that they do not know! Still no answer... And if you download drivers on the page of the developers (nvidia in my case) the guarantee falls of!

So when you buy Toshiba you get:
    Benefits:
-1 year no - matter what guarantee + 3 years warranty abroad
    -Cheat relatively good price laptop

    Disadvantages:
    -NO SUPPORT DRIVER
N ' is not allowed to open the computer or give it to any business to be cleaned to avoid HEAT problems, except Toshiba
-Many programs of Toshiba, who defects to your system, one of them Toshiba Tempro - totally useless

When I bought this laptop it encrypted 1015 euro. Not the cheapest, but certainly not the expensive class. Now I think to buy a laptop for 1000-1500 euros. Will I lose the money for Toshiba?

Buy a new computer in the high-end, have supported only for the first year and after 2 years, having the same problem? If I bought it only for study and work, all this would not matter to me. But I use it to create music, graphic designs and play in the spare time.

P.S. I love my laptop, 3 years and still runs great. Photoshop, Fruity Loops, everything works well, + I can't even play Skyrim and Modern Warfare 3. But the design of the terrible air flow. It is build in such a way that each 3.4 months you must clean, to prevent the temperature of the GPU + 100. Normal is 90 ;) I think it is quite bad.

With regard to the display driver support:

I agree with you, the drivers of graphics card for gaming laptops should be published and updated regularly because most of the new games require the latest version of the driver.
But I noticed also, that other manufacturers of portable display drivers are not updated regularly and in most cases, the use of original pages manufacturing GPU graphics drivers is necessary.

    > Is not allowed to open the computer or give it to any business to be cleaned to avoid HEAT problems, except Toshiba

I think that all manufacturers of computer/computer laptop don t allow to open and disassemble clean products. This is because the procedure of disassembly is always delicate and there is a risk of damage to the part. I think it's understandable...

    > Many programs of Toshiba, making mistakes in your system, one of them Toshiba Tempro - totally useless

I noticed that each laptop manufacturing install tools and utilities in order to control the features of the laptop. The point is that computers laptops are different to the common fund s PC and portable support a large number of additional features: Eco modes, multimedia keys, additional power saving features, security options for HARD disk, etc.

So a pre-installed software isn't really a drawback, but of course, you can remove it from the system but this means that you would not be able to use these features.
