Why slow internet speeds of Windows 8?

Do a search on any search engine, and you will see that Windows 8 is considerably slowing down internet connections and each each Web site (within a Web site velocities are not too bad), no matter how the settings and adjustments are made to the configuration of a computer. Microsoft seems determined to deny this reality - but we users many would prefer that she in fact invests the time and energy to a difficulty. I have a brand new HP Envy h8 - 1520t, inflated and loaded with all the bells and bells, including a "Premium" LAN card The new HP is sitting in the room of a machine from DELL (Windows Vista) absolute Core Duo for eight years that whips its tail on the internet high speed. Basically, Windows 8 stinks. If I had known it was this bad, I would have ordered a Windows 7 machine on clearance and saved a ton. I adjusted limit bandwidth, network, power saving mode settings, etc. and increased my internet cable feeds at 30 MB/s with the addition of power and a new modem/router - but Windows 8 it always chokes down so that the internet creeps into my new computer out of breath. Online gambling is, as are streaming videos (for example, ESPN, NASCAR, etc.) and other features "live." And I just dropped more $2 K if I could have anyone.

How long until what Microsoft offers a patch?

For me, I tried all the fixes I could find and nothing has worked. Turns, the brand new computer was worse than the old windows wireless adapter 7 that was fast. I ended up spending my extension wireless in the room with my laptop and then using an ethernet cable for the laptop the Wireless extender. Problem solved. I hope this helps others who hide their laptop and use another monitor, a keyboard and a wireless mouse.

I have Windows 7 Home installed in my HP laptop. Web brosing speed is too slow on the PC. I have a fiber optic internet connection which has max of 16 Mbps download speed. The internet speed is good and reaches sometimes up to 10 Mbit/s, while it barely reaches 2 Mbit/s in normal mode. Most of the programs I uninstalled, run the registry cleaner by Norton, Scanner Malware bytes, regularly updated Norton antivirus definitions. I also installed only a few program - MS Office 2010, Norton Antivirus, Real Networks, itunes and HP provided software preinstalled with the laptop. Internet activity is limited to a few Bank sites and youtube. Like all the anti virus scan, spyware scans were not able to detect any virus or spyware, I'm at a loss to find any reason for the slow internet speeds. The speed of the internet is amazing when I use my tab Thosibha or on my smart phone Sony. Any ideas please.

I have this noted in may 2013 and unfortunately do not have the restore point beyond June 2013.

  • Slow internet speed because of the Marvell Yukon LAN driver

    Hi all!

I'm a newbie here so don't know if I'm supposed to ask this question here but anyway, hope, my problem is solved somehow.

I'm on a Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop computer, I received last week and everything works well except my internet speed, its too slow. I'm on a 10 Mbps plan but my speed is no where near that. I get speeds close to 200 kb/s at 300 KB/s max. After some googleing I got to know that the Marvell Yukon LAN driver is the problem here.

According to some Internet sites, we are supposed to roll back the driver to a previous version, I did it, but speed still does not pass. I have tried almost all the things I can do, but nowhere so far. I called my ISP, they say that everything is rosy on the other hand, ran the scan of Norton Antivruis on this computer, the firewall disabled, and the list is long but nothing.

It would be great if someone could help me out here.

    Thanks in advance...

    Hello

checked your connection with another computer, if the problem persists try with another machine?

Would be really interesting... If not I suggest you to reclaim your machine to 'default '. Maybe it's solved something.
Another idea would be to remove the service from the "Qos" (quality of service) of your network connection, which hardly slows down the connection for software reasons.

Please give some feedback and please tell me what system you´re using (Vista, XP)

  • Connection of slow internet speed of Time capsule

I have a time Capsule airport of 5th generation 2 TB (802.11 AC) and a modem TP - LINK TD - 8816 ADSL2 (bridged) connected to the TC. In recent weeks, a very slow internet connection has been detected (get the go-ahead in TC and airport utility)

Of course, I started by judging my ISP but then realizes that configuration back to the modem for PPPoE over Ethernet, the connection achieved expected quotient of internet speed.

I have reset the TC back to the default settings (to erase all of the current settings) and set it up again with the new and cool settings. Same results.

For the record: I have experienced same speed slow results at the TC test by wireless or ethernet connections.

Airport Time Capsule is running 7.7.3

MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end 2013) OS X El Capitan 10.11.3

I came back to use the modem router Zyxel provided by my ISP with internet high speed optimal but misses my TC!

Thanks in advance for your support.

I'm in the same boat... There is something seriously wrong with the TC in PPPOE mode. And nothing you can do that on it. Apple has all the controls available in the outside world.

I got around it by using a modem router or other router between modem bridged and TC.

In the end I put the TC in static IP mode, and it worked very well with another router.

    Internet problems.

Vpcl12M1E Sony PC running Windows 7.

It functions fine but Internet at a snails pace. Many worked for five years and then the trouble started recently.

Reset the modem and ran Norton and Malwarebytes, no problem. An iPhone and two iPads can connect to between 19 and 20 Mbs to the same wireless network, the PC can barely do 1Mbs. takes about 30/40 seconds to load a page from Google.

In desperation I used the recovery disc to clean the disk and start over. Despite this I still have the same problem. It makes no difference between cable and wireless - pace of snails still speed

  • slow internet connection in Windows xp

I am running Windows XP on a computer advent portable Version 2002 SP2, processor 1 .50GHz, 224 MB of RAM with Norton Antivirus 2010. Connection to the internet is desperately slow. It comes to any Web site. If I boot with the internet cable already attached it may take up to an hour to connect; without cable, another application such as a spreadsheet or Word, to the well, program then work mudra stop just when the cable is inserted. Once logged into a site, I often get the message no response or slow response. Sometimes, after a certain time, improves the response and I can use internet as usual, although this fair deteriorates again. Manager tasks indicates nothing is pounding the CPU during this time, although there is a noise suggesting that the hard drive is very active. Any ideas would be appreciated.

224 MB of RAM isn't really enough memory to run Windows XP.  What is probably happening is that your RAM is get used to the top and you're overflow "Virtual memory" where the computer drive hard is used as the necessary RAM, it didn't.  This leads to an almost permanent access hard disk and slows down the computer to a virtual crawl.

Really, you should spend your RAM to 1 or 2 Gigabyte if it will manage your computer.

  • Slower Internet speeds in a VPN

I installed a new ASA 5510 on our internal network as an endpoint for our VPN connections. This ASA replaces the endpoint of the VPN on our ASA outdoors. I installed a VPN group profile and activated DTLS on the interface on the ASA. The only interface on the ASA's inside interface. We did tests of speed while on the VPN of two devices. When tests connection to VPN on the ASA outside speed show download speeds between 5 to 8 Mbps and upload of. 80-. 96 Mbit/s. When connecting to the VPN inside ASA speed tests show between 2 and 3 Mbps et.76 Mbps download speeds. When I run the command 'show svc web-session' on two cases that I see that the connection from the firewall to the outside indicates that the protocol used is DTLS however inside it does not DTLS.

I think part of the problem is that DTLS is not used. What can I do to improve my download speed? The ASA will use DTLS if the interface that is used is the inside interface?

    Thank you.

    Hello

DTLS uses UDP 443 while TLS is TCP 443.

and if DTLS is blocked somewhere, then the tunnel you will return to the TLS, but you must use DTLS since that it provides (the old comparassion TCP VS UDP) performance.

Please check if the path between the customer inside the interface does not block the UDP 443.

    HTH

    Mohammad.

  • EA4500 LAN slow transfer speeds

I have a WD external hard drive connected via USB 3.0 to the Linksys router. I'm trying to transfer a 2 GB file via wifi but taking up to 12 minutes for the transfer. Why slow transfer speeds?

I'm using 5 GHz Wifi about 3 feet the router. The external drive is a Western Digital MyPassport. The computer I use is a Microsoft Surface Pro 2.

I've uploaded other files and they take so much time with 2.8 MB/s maximum transfer speeds.

    dadayzee,

If you disable WMM on the EA4500 you also turn off the N wireless protocol. That will drastically slow down the wireless connection.

    Hi JTBisaha,

Wi - Fi connection, the speed reduction could be due to several reasons. Few of them are listed below:

    1. There could be interference in the network you use.

    2. There may be a lot of users are using the same network at this moment

    3. the point of network access can be blocked by something at that time.
