I do not how much someone loves the tabs on the top, the right way to handle these kinds of feature upgrades is to leave everything as it was in terms of parameters and display a web page that contains a button that says what each change with a Yes and no button so that the user can try if they want TO or not , and not just say (effectively) "we are the Lords and ask you to use this and we know better. If this method is too difficult then just don't change the settings and leave a page "what's new". I know it is free SW and contribute many dedicated, but to do your darnedest to confuse or annoy your users is not the way to do it. Imagine if you took your car to have a new mounted radio and when you got the brake pedal was in the backseat and the guy said "we like better that way.

  I think iTunes might be showing your iCloud music purchases. Go to the menu bar, and unselect display-> show iCloud music purchases.
