  I recently installed an update to CS4 on my Macbook Pro. CS3 is installed to the left for daily use up to this I have time to explore the CS4.

  In doing so, I noticed something strange. Although all preferences and color are the same, open the same file in CS3 and 4 gives a very different picture. I photograph with a Phase One digital back. The FIRST images are processed to TIFF by the latest version of Capture One. They wear so profile Adobe RGB 1998 (8BPC). CS3 and -4 are configured to the same profile, so there is no inconsistency when opening. There is only a small (and normal) visible difference between the Capture excerpt One and the TIFF-file open in CS3.

  Open the file in CS4 however gives a darker (about + 1.5 f-stop) and more saturated images. It has nothing to do with the two versions running at the same time.

  #1 details: activate the tab "version cue" the bottom says 'open' in CS3 and 'unmanaged file' in CS4

  Detail #2: activate 'warning of the range' shows no warning in CS3, while CS4 displays a large number of pixels "out of gamut".

  Any ideas?

• Adobe RGB 1998 Workspace vs Image with embedded sRGB profile

  I worked through countless published on the Web about various aspects of the profile settings of colors from all different angles. Obviously a difficult topic depending on how much you must understand.  For now, I have a question of several party who I would appreciate any feedback on of those in the know.  I'll try to summarize it briefly - it is simply in the default RGB color space setting in CS6 against opening an image that has a different embedded color profile.

  Question

  (1) is it interesting 'potential' to work in color space Adobe RGB 1998 if I open an image with an embedded sRGB profile and "preserve embedded profile?  I realize that any potential benefit could depend on the range of colors in the image itself - that is, where an image with color dull or limited range could not affected by any color profile or workspace is applicable.

  (2) if my color default RGB in CS6 space is Adobe RGB 1998 and I open an image with an embedded sRGB profile, can I convert to Adobe RGB to take advantage of the widest range when working with the image.

  (3) if I don't need to convert an Adobe RGB sRGB image to enjoy the widest range when changes but must register the image with an sRGB profile for purposes of production (out of print or Web presentation service):

  3.1 should I make a copy of the image final and Convert to sRGB or I can just save as Jpeg and select sRGB for the profile to be integrated?

  3.2 irrespective of how I save the final image with an sRGB profile, I would lose some advantage I might have seen while working in the Adobe RGB workspace?

  I am not questioning if there is a good reason to work in sRGB vs. Adobe RGB (or ProPhoto) or under what circumstances it can matter - just trying to figure out a couple of mechanics I would work in Adobe RGB, but have a lot of things (slide previous scans etc.) than sRGB or some other built-in profile.

  Also not to query the best camera settings as I am completely convinced the only way to go is to capture in RAW if the goal is a flexibility to work with the picture (I'm still shooting Fujifilm Provia 100F in my Nikon F6 but eventually will go with a good FX digital SLR when I can rotate - point being that all of the images that I work with is roughly slides scanned on my Nikon Super) COOLSCAN 5000 ED Scanner).

  I understand that it is a topical subject (sRGB vs RGB etc.) and not trying to stimulate a wide debate on the issues.

Here is a comparison of an image of the test case of 14 CS6 Adobe class-in-a-book.  "Rev00" on the left is the original image to sRGB included with the tutorial; "Rev01' on the right is the picture where I have first of all"affected"the Adobe RGB profile, and then (through ignorance, maybe, converted - profile Adobe RGB). I did that because I noticed that I simply convert RGB perceptual colors remain the same, so that if I have 'assign' RGB profile, I certainly get a slight pop at this image - may not be noticeable in this screenshot, but I can definitely see an improvement that I love watching them side by side on my Apple LED Cinema display 27 ".

  

  That is right. If the file has embedded sRGB, Adobe RGB workspace is unnecessary and irrelevant. He never comes into play.

  You can, however, convert the file in Adobe RGB if you plan to make a big change on that, and you think you might need the extra margin of a larger color space.

  If you assign a profile (for an untagged document), there is not need to convert to the same.

  then right-click and open in Archive Manager where you can extract the files.

  In addition, you may be able to use some Manager package provided with your distribution, search for icc profiles and there may be some that you can install.

  I recently discovered a problem with Photoshop CS6 on my Windows 7 system. When you perform the proofing with "Proof colors" selected on the Adobe RGB 1998 color profile images there is loss of Red saturation. When checking the ProPhoto RGB, Colormatch RGB, and sRGB image files there is no difference with the same profile selected in the Conditions of proof options settings. This only happens with images Adobe RGB 1998. I even tried ProPhoto RGB, Adobe RGB images conversion to be sure that it is not a problem with the file. Problem with the Adobe RGB files.

  I just tried my PS 32-bit installationn and does NOT have this problem, just the 64-bit version.

  Sorry for the confusion and frustration.

  Because the Muse is an Air application, there are some limitations in the way that we interact with the Application Manager that can cause these types of States in conflict. We have plans that will address this, but unfortunately, it of a complicated situation and will take time.

  I'm working on a document that will address all the various installation questions such as this one and post it on the forum and elsewhere when its done. I apologize that this has not happened before and several people were affected than expected.

  I'm trying to put together a Guide to color for my company's brand guidelines.

  Initially, I worked for InDesign and copied all H, RGB and CMYK values that I had when I went in an eye my original color palette.

  However when I put the same values of RGB in Photoshop I gives me a (somewhat) a different set of CMYK numbers than I had initially documented in InDesign.

  CMYK is essential for a company's brand guide. The printer ask again, it's a simple and direct question. If they cannot answer this fundamental question, that speaks well of their professional standards. It is a common practice and highly standard procedure. • cannot get rid of message, another download of adobe app works. I deleted all the downloads of adobe and always get the messagde.

  I installed Adobe Elements, a few weeks ago and after reading the reviews found that the lightroom may be a better fit. I uninstalled the trial of elements. I can't download the trial for lightroom. I get a message that bed is something as impossible to download another Adobe app download. Then, I deleted everything about downloading as I had started several before you go into the downloads folder. How can I download the free trial version of lightroom? Bill

• Why the process of "Adobe CEP Helper" use so much CPU?

  The last iteration of photoshop (and Dreamweaver also) has been a pain for me to use, finally I decided to reinstall my system (Windows 10 x 64, 32 GB of Ram, Nvidia GTX 970) but nothing helps.
  I experience sluggish performance and freezing randomly (and I say well random; it can be trying to resize an image or even to close a window).

  The system has been tested ok and worked very well with the CC 2014 version,

  The possible culprit (at least on the issue of the sluggishnes) might be the process named "Adobe CEP Helper" I noticed uses between 14 and 20% of my CPU.

  [I read a lot of suggestions on how to disable the HTML engine, but the gel is still running there barebone photoshop without plugins]

  Also - but perhaps irrelevant with (and I include this if it is possible that the problem might be how Adobe affects network) - is that I noticed that my web performance dropped drastically after the installation of cc 2015; not download/load performance but the time it takes for my browsers access the pages.

  This is a bug in Photoshop and is planned to be fixed. Engine CEPHTML is associated with libraries. Have you tried to close the library panel and process in the Task Manager ending all CEPHTMLEngine.exe? There will probably be three or four of them.

  This Windows XP Home. on a Compaq Presario SR1710NX.  Windows can not find the locally stored profile and logs on to a sense of temporary profile every time that the computer is off all changes is lost.

  Your user profile is damaged and you put in a temporary user profile. This is why nothing is saved. Create a new user profile for yourself and copy the data from the old profile to it. After you have all your stuff, you can remove the old corrupted user profile if you wish. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  First post! Woohoo!

  Not sure why some of my sequences make this. I'll try to make that clear as possible, but try to put this in words could be confusing. Apologies in advance.

  When Hi hit game the clip in the sequence is not selected (highlighted) and when I stop playing, it is selected (highlighted).

  Why is this super frustrating?

  I have markers in the sequence. (and I don't have or don't want markers on my clip).

  I have my window open markers and I want to read/edit comments for my markers.

  BUT when playback stops, the clip in the timeline panel is selected, then my window markers swaps to the source clip

  and then I need to re - select the sequence for my markers window window display the details of the marker.

  And worse still, sometimes when my sequence is selected (see my bearings in the markers window), when I click in the comments box to type in a description, me clicking on which comments on the box says actually the element in the sequence that is causing my markers window Exchange back to display the clip markers (once again - I don't not wishes to add markers of my clips I want only that they in the sequence).

  And it's incompatible. Sometimes it works first try, sometimes it works 3rd test.

  This is not the first time that I have worked in this way, and I don't remember this issue previously.

  Side note: I use a multicam in mu sequence clip.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated! I like dropping the interviews in this way and I really want to keep this workflow.

• Why my file adds a border uneven, junk, white when I save in JPEG

  For some reason every time I have to save my file as a JPG it adds in a weird white border around it. It's the savings as if I had a few items that are beyond my work plan, but I did select all and I can't find anything. I have no idea why it keeps it? I tried using the work plan adapted to the art button, as well as to manually adjust it, but it always saves with the weird white lines on the side. That's what I see when I select all:
