Why the edges of the layer of a text layer bizarre behavior?

I'm stuck on this. When I create a text layer in Photoshop CS5 and then finds the edges of the layer, and I can't understand why the edges of the layer are actually in the text itself. It is not extending the edges of the layer out to the real edges. This caused enormous problems in trying to align text layers before the rasterize the layer.

Can someone explain to me why Photoshop behaves in this way? And there at - it a way to make it stop? For reasons too go in, I can not rasterize the layer at this point. I need to be able to snap everything first.

I was able to force a similar look by choosing bizarre settings in my character Panel.

You have the type of Point or area?

If you can't find the correct settings, either reset the text tool or reset all tools. Go to your control panel (top panel). Right click on the text tool. Select the reset tool and all the weird stuff will disappear for the tool. Reset all the tools to put them all back to their default values.

  • Why the layer effects do not work for the photos in Photoshop CC?

Layer effects do not appear in Photoshop CC for the photos. They work very well for text, but not for any image. The layers in the image are unlocked, I've updated to Photoshop and I erased the preferences but still nothing. Any suggestions?

Promote the selection into a new layer (Ctrl or Cmd + J to copy; CTRL or Cmd + Shift + J to cut), then try to apply the layer style.

    Hi majidp949,

The latest version (15.2.0) of the Acrobat Reader software for iOS contains the fix for the problem of text annotation color.

In addition, Acrobat Reader for iOS now offers support integrated with Dropbox.

  • Why the curves adjustment, often in front of which layer is the standard?

When I do a PS CC2015 curves adjustment layer often the graph is opposite, so to make an image, I have to make the curve rises and light, have to go down.  Why it does this?

It's driving me crazy and looks odd and makes me think that I work badly.

In the curves adjustment layer properties click on the upper right. In the drop-down menu, choose Display Options of the curves where light vs Pigmentf/ink radio buttons control the meaning of the scales of the layer of setting the tone.

  • Why the tool completely slice does NOT despite the fact that the layer is NOT locked, or 'Lock Slices' accidentally on is checked in the menu 'View' Illustrator CS6?

Well want to can someone help pointing at me - why the tool cuts (for a simple in CS6 path) totally does NOT despite the fact that the layer is NOT locked, OR 'Lock Slices' accidentally on is checked in the menu 'View' Illustrator CS6?

It is the slice tool you are trying. The only wrong.

  • Why are the boundaries of the layer or layer groups not that of the document?

Why are assets the whole layer or a layer group rather than be only clipped on the canvas, I'm working on that?

The limits of a resulting asset layer or layer group are all of the area occupied by the pixels of the layer or layer group. This is how the underlying infrastructure Adobe generator works. We are studying the feasibility of changing this behaviour. If you want it changed, please let us know here!

If you want to restrict to the linked document, apply a layer mask that écrêtera layers and groups of layers that extend beyond the limits of the document.

  • Why are the guides in the layer panel?

Have always shown in the layer panel guides? I swear that didn't used to be the case. However, adding a new guide throws randomly in the layers panel. Is it possible to hide the guides in the layer panel? Or at least automatically group them into their own group or layer? Guides are not a part of the work, so they really should not be included in the layer panel, or at least not treated like all other vector objects.

Guides do not appear in the Panel layers in InDesign; they always have in Illustrator.

They are (sort of) objects in vector Illustrator you can drag a guide from the rule and release it to a line or create a path and Cmd + 5, it a guide. This weird example has been drawn with the pencil tool and converted into a guide.

Best example: I can draw a rectangle, Center it on the artboard, Cmd + 5 and have the margin guides.

The answers to your questions are:

Yes, the guides have always been in the layers panel

Yes, you can move them to another layer the same way you move other objects (good idea)

Yes, you can hide them with Cmd; the view menu or the eyeball in the layers panel or right-click, to name a few

Yes, treat them as any other vector object.

  • Why apply the layer mask is grayed out?

    Hello

From time to time 'apply the layer mask' is not available.

    What I checked myself:

-Photoshop is not in master view (abbreviation Q).

-J' have reset all warning dialog boxes (since it is a way to get a mask by dragging it to the trash).

    Can't get to work!

    Other solutions? Thank you!

I found myself - the layer was a dynamic object. Perhaps I should suggest Adobe to let Photoshop ask pixelation during application, instead of just greyin'out.

  • Look of thumbnails of the layer like paint brushes, why?

I have 10 elements and have encountered the problem to have all the thumbnails in the layers panel to research as brushes in a little box rather than a picture of what is happening in the layer. No one knows what might happen?

    Thank you

    Sharon

Looks like somehow, you have the thumbnail layer content set to None.

Click the square of four twice in the upper right corner of the layers panel, and choose Panel Options. The radio button for the size of the thumbnails is normally placed in the middle.

  • Lose the layer effects when I flatten image Photoshop CC

How can I keep my layer effects when I flatten an image or the merger of the layers?  I tried a few ways to merge: for example merge down to an empty layer, visible merger, stamping the image, the rasterization of the layers, saving in jpg format, but still lose the effect.  I can also send it to a lab to be printed with all layers intact, as it is more than 1 GB in size. I searched the net for an answer, but all suggested does not work.  Help, please.  I really need to solve this problem.  Thank you

It seems to me that you apply tonal corrections of black and white line art, or an image with the frame of halftone (points) (or something similar).

That won't do anything because all you have is still pure black white and pure - but it will look as it does If you look at what it is other than 100%.

The reason why the adjustment seems to take, is that you look at a preview resampled, cached, and resampling softens the edges and introduced middle gray values.

When you group, the adjustment is calculated on the original size. Then he "disappears", because it is actually nothing to resolve.

I could be wrong and it's something else - but is a very common question and a good bet.

  • Gum changing from white to black on the layer mask, leaving the image transparent.

I used the following method in CS5 to erase parts of a layer/bring these pieces back again if necessary. It works in the same way after that I upgraded to CS6 (not sure if the version difference plays a role or not.)

What I'm doing here is blend two layers that overlap in one of the other

    1. create the layer to the top layer mask

    2. Select pure white in the color selection window

3 select the Eraser tool, set the opacity to 30%, 50%, flow 100% hardness

    4. Select hide, erasing the edges of the image where there is overlap to eliminate hard edges and merge the images into another

    5. when I need to highlight an area of the image at the top (one mixed), I pass the color pure black opacity set to 100%, hardness 100% and paint over the areas that I want to "undo" my deletion.

-Sometimes happens a lot after my initial deletion, so a simple cancellation or who goes back in history is not a possible solution at this moment here.

-Another note: I have to move over the other layers to align as much as possible, make the story do not brush useful in this case.

Previously, this would simply restore the image to where it was originally for this place, by removing completely all masking. Now, when I do this procedure, the area that I'm trying to "undo" is however, as if the opacity is set to a level lower than 100%. This poses problems because I want to have the completely opaque image at this stage.

Some other notes I hope to answer some questions that may arise in advance:

I haven't settled the opacity of one of my layer masks

I tried to do the same operation by using the Brush tool (with 100% opacity and hardness, using the opposite colors), with the same result

As we have earlier I don't know another effective way to achieve the same goal. I'd be happy to do it differently but if necessary.

All the layers in these documents are dynamic objects

    Thank you!

I'm sorry it's so confusing. I guess the only reason why I use the Eraser tool is a vestige of when I was actually erase the image - and also I get the brush and Eraser different opacity value to quickly switch between them.

@Theresa actually, I didn't watch only the mask. Of course the mask was gray in the areas that I was talking about. But that lead me to realize that while the color picker looked purely black and white, I was working with a grayscale image, and it was in fact color and converted to looked at pure Grayscale black and white. I need to set the color of the brush at a certain point, when working in RGB (which I rarely do) and not realised.

Sorry for posting something with such a trivial response, but you all help me to understand thank you!

  • When I scroll through the mask of image sequence does not follow the layer of the timeline?

Another problem. I simply scroll the image sequence and you can see on the screenshot that the mask remains where it was in the beginning. I applied red tinted effect (just to show you), and it does not stick to the station when scroller is at the end of the timeline which is say that the mask is not to follow. But it should, because the mask is the image sequence. Why? Please take a look. Maybe there is something wrong with the Ctrl c and Ctrl v method - it's how I inserted my BW mask in the layer mask?

  • Why the Replace Color tool does not replace my color?

    I have the following situation:

    White in the image.

    Choose the color replacement tool

    Choose a red color

    Apply the white color tool

    Nothing happens

    Change color to light mode

Receive a brownish band where the tool is applied

Change the color mode and apply the tool to brownish band

Receive a red strip, where was formerly the brownish one.

See the three States of the image in the attachment.

Why was not applied in the first and replaced color replacement tool white with red?

    stripes.jpg

White is not one any colour change, because there is nothing to change.  Try to place a filled layer of red, above a layer filled with white and setting the blending mode of the layer of the red color to the color.  It just goes to white.  Now fill in the color of white background with grey wire (any value will do.  The darker the gray, the more saturated the Red will become.  Less of the tracks until you get 50% gray.  From there in complete darkness, it becomes darker. When you reach the full black, once more, there is nothing for the color work on, and it appears black.

It is a useful exercise of understanding how to mix work modes.

And why you even do it in PS? What you wrote means that you need something big which will be made using cutting of vinyl or other techniques of signage and it requires to work with vectors, which means you use Illustrator, not Photoshop.

  • Serious accidents with control of the expression spacing based on z-position of the layer

I have massive crashes when you use this script expression below. I have just a text layer where I control the depandend letter-spacing of the current z position. From z = 0 to-500 (directly in front of the camera), the values are transformed by easyOut() from 0-10. So far, that's all.

Now when I duplicate this line of text several times and start to change its position, then the accident happens. Text layers more I have the sooner the crash. This occurs when the edition therefore not made involved. In the preview is the applied standard rendering engine.

Unfortunately, there is no specific error message - it indicates just that AFX no longer works and is now closed.

    My system features:

I have 8 GB of RAM and 10 GB disk cache. That should be enough for a text flying around.

I use the latest Version of CC of AFX 2015.1 13.6.1.6 running on Windows Ultrabook (Lenovo Yoga 1) 8.1. No CUDA detected so the preview is rendered by the CPU.

Anyone has an idea why this happens? Help is very appreciated.

    max_spacing = 10;
    z_position = transform.position[2];
    var new_spacing = easeOut(z_position, -500, 0, max_spacing, 0);
    text.animator("Animator 1").property.trackingAmount = new_spacing;

    This is my test scene:

You create a hole of logic by referencing the layer itself probably. Should not happen, then I would call it a bug. Probably to do with flaky matrix code also used to smack and a few other things. Try to use a Null value and parent the text to it. This would work much better.
