Why the latest version of Firefox freeze and require a Force Quit?
I use a MacBook Air, processor 1.8 GHz, 4 GB memory, OS X v10.9 (Mavericks) and Firefox v25.0.
9 out of 10 times when I close Firefox, it freezes and I have to do a Force Quit. Without rhyme or reason, ab 1 out of 10 times it closes as it should without a problem. This issue arose as a result of the latest update of Firefox.
NOTE: I had been using OS X Mavericks with Firefox without any problems before the latest update of Firefox, so I don't think it's the Mavericks is the problem.
I thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
It is most likely a problem of Add on.
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.
(If you use it, switch to the default theme).
- Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
- Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
- Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
The report please come back shortly.

I downloaded the latest version of Firefox 13 and all Web pages are displayed wrong
I downloaded the latest version of Firefox 13 after having quickly that I didn't have the latest version of Firefox. No Web page seems correct, including this one. All Web pages are displayed "plain." For example when I type in retail right now it takes a box or something to show me where to put space details - no box - only. I use Google as my home page. The Firefox logo was on the Google home page, but it is absent. When I go to Google Mail there is no checkboxes delete mail etc... when I go to the same pages using Internet Explorer pages display correctly if something's not on Firefox. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox without deleting my personal settings etc, but this made no difference. If my only option is to delete all my info I should do, but have been on Firefox and really don't want to lose this info. I checked all the settings when I looked not all Web pages display correctly in HELP and all settings are correct. What should I do? I don't want to go back to using IE, but that's basically what I have to do right now to the function to make banking operations etc...
You are welcome

Hello, adobe has released a critical fix for a vulnerability in its version of the flash plugin, which is apparently already exploited in the wild. That's why firefox will block the precarious versions which run by default on Web sites for your protection. https://helpx.Adobe.com/security/products/Flash-Player/apsb14-27.html https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/p794
Please update Adobe Flash Player version 16.0.0.235 as soon as possible, that you can download from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html (use the windows exe for plugin-based browsers).

Why do not upgrade Add-ons to work on the latest version of Firefox?
Have all these add-ons does not make much sense if you get a "not compatible with the latest version of Firefox. Of course, I bought an s4 to run the older versions. Firefox seems to have the mentality google alittle on themselves. Without the Add - ons Firefox is just another search engine. Please make it compatible.
Modules are upgraded by the creator. It is their responsibility to keep their app/add-on up-to-date and functional with the current Firefox browser.

When you say
I tried IE and the same thing. However, things returned to normal after I rebooted my computer,
Do you mean that IE becomes so callous. If so it might be an indication that any fault is it is not Firefox itself.

I had to wait for it to screw up again, because it's not every time, every day.
If it is an intermittent problem that goes and comes there could be a problem with your internet connection or, for example, a WiFi problem; If this is how the computer connects.
