Why the thre 2 network connections

original title: two wireless connections?

Im running XP and I click on network connections, it says wireless network connection, and 1394 connection. Someone can tell me what this means and why there are 2 connections?

Thanks in advance

A connection 1394, also known as a FireWire connection, is a type of network connection that can be made via a cable between two computers that have FireWire ports.  It can also be used to connect FireWire compatible devices. It isn't wireless, but it is displayed in the network connections Control Panel because it is an available network connection.

  • How can I remove the Administrative Tools, network connections, printers & Fax and scanners and cameras my desktop icons?

Recently, I installed a trial version of Tune Up Utilities 2009. During one of the scans/tune-ups, he gave me the option to display the Administrative Tools, network connections, printers & Fax and Scanners & cameras icons on my desktop. I checked ok, however, now, I think it's too crowded in my office and you want to remove them... right on the desktop, not everywhere else they are located. I tried everything I know to remove them without success. Anyone knows where is the menu option to display on the desktop so I can uncheck or choose Delete? I don't want to have to change all the .ini files or .bat to because I'm afraid I don't do it correctly and create other problems.

I don't know what you have tried, but have a look here

    Right-click Desktop-desktop/properties/Office/Customization

Only, I had to reformat my Latitude D31 and don't know how to do the wireless network connection appears on the list of network connections.  The without line is turned on and the router works.

On a relative (sort of) topic, before reformat, I got a blue screen that says since more memory was used that was installed, there was no memory for something else.  The computer is running (I reinstalled Windows XP, but in Setup the message still arrives.  Is this normal?

    Hello

Old laptops use to come with very little memory.  Since then, software exceed the amount of memory installed

Check the amount of memory you have and see if you can upgrade.

You can find and expanded manual on Dell' support for the laptop.

    Regarding the wireless.

It is possible that the wireless card is not operational and need to reinstall drivers.

    Maybe this can help.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

Make sure that if there is Wireless Utility a utility vendor is not running with the native Windows wireless utility.

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Above everything is OK and it connects to the wireless router. Log in from any computer which is, or can be connected to the router with a wire wireless, disable wireless security and try to connect with no. wireless security.

When the work turns on the Wireless security.

  • Windows 7 - why the priority of network adapter is ignored when you are connected to the area on a lower priority NIC?

I have two network cards installed on my laptop.  I wanted to test and see how Windows 7 Ultimate managed the priority of the network adapters so I connected to a small Internet (NIC B) router, and the other on my domain (NIC A).
First of all, it was a pain to find network adapter priority.  After some research and fun Google I found this.  Unfortunately, the search bar has not helped.
Control Panel-> network and Internet-> view network status and tasks-> to modify the adapter-> Hold down 'alt' to bring up the menu "File"-> select 'Advanced'-> select 'Advanced settings' in the menu drop-down-> adjust your priorities of the adapter in the 'Advanced settings' window, under the tab "maps and links.

With "B NIC", defined as the highest priority, I tried to browse the internet.  It was impossible to travel.  Then I disabled 'NIC A' (the NIC domain) and I can browse the internet.  Windows XP he handled this much better.

Select 'NIC A', and then check 'NIC B' is the highest priority.  Then try tracert on www.google.com.  It refreshes my domain as the first hop router.  It seems to be completely ignoring 'NIC B', unless I have disable 'NIC A' completely.

In case someone of another Vienna here, looking for the answer to this, as I did, I thought that putting the real solution to this question.  Many web pages say to change the priority of going on network connections and change the order there to what you like.  You don't have to bother with this setting.

It does not work. He has apparently no effect on the use of connections.

What Windows actually uses is the metric value for network connections.  The lowest metric value is tried first.  In my case, I have a connection broadband shabby home, but I can attach wireless on my phone for occasional good bandwidth.  So, I want to always use the connected wireless and ignore the wired connection, but still the chance to printers and other things on my network cable at the same time.  I want to keep both on and not to disable the wired when I use my phone.

To resolve this problem for real, go to and right click your Wi-wired adapters and one at a time to change the properties.  Select IPv4, click and then .  For each of them, disable the "Automatic metric" checkbox and set the metric value manually.  I put the wireless cable and 1-2, which gave me the behavior I wanted.

The Automatic metric is defined by Windows based on the speed of connection and a wired connection is generally faster than a wireless one.

  • Windows Vista continues to try to connect to the VirtualProfile in network connections.

I was helping my brother set up its new Netgear Wireless USB adapter in Windows Vista and kept running into the same problem.  Once the adapter has been installed, Vista would continue to try to connect to a VirtualProfile under network connections which would interfere with the connection of the profile.  I had my brother take the VirtualProfile and then it connected correctly.  However, after each reboot, the connection of VirtualProfile appears every time and we need to start over the process.  A way to remove this VirtualProfile permanently and why what is happening?  Thanks for any input.

original title: Wireless Virtual Network profile

    Hello Flash4,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft answers forum for Windows Vista.

I suggest you go to your network card making and download / install the latest drivers.

Also I suggest that you check your system for corrupted files. You use the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to check and repair corrupt system files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open an elevated command prompt.

    2. to do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    3. type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    Hope this information is useful.

    Thank you.

  • Change the amount of vCPU in vCD deletes the virtual machine network connection in vCenter

It is a problem of crazy that we discovered, and I wanted to know if anyone had seen him.

First of all, we miss the following software versions:

    vCD: 5.1.1.867405

    vCenter: 5.0.0 Build 913577

    ESXi: 5.0.0 build 1024429

If you go to vCloud Director and change the material properties of an existing virtual machine (Powered off) any change in the amount of vCPU (to something new), inside of vCenter status of the network will change to the port group Standard (inactive) none.

Even if, before making the change, the virtual machine is connected to a distributed port group, and works well.

We now display an SR to VMware, but sometimes it is worth running this by the community to see if other people have already seen or indeed want to test on their deployment.

    Thanks in advance

We have solved the problem now.

The reason why that we faced this problem is because we used the wrong order in the API.

You must ensure that you use the undeploy command when you work with the vCD API otherwise you end up with a disconnected network card.

  • Helps the open WIFI network connection

    Hello

I have a new dash of Sony that I connect to my wifi to work. The network itself is open, however once your device is connected to WIFI, once you open a browser window on your computer/Tablet/phone is where it asks you your work credentials (name of user/pass). Once you submit you can go anywhere. I've seen this at other places with band wifi open, but you must accept the terms and conditions of the first time you open a browser window. Does anyone know how after you connect to the wifi network I would be able to enter my credentials on the dashboard? Since it is not exactly a web browser I know.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Credentials of the user to connect to the Wi - Fi network can be entered into the dash unit.

  • The laptop has network connection limited (DNS may be unavailable)

There is a server on my intranet, which has a total of five users. The server is played wireless through the gateway. The bridge also has two printers and a router plugged into it. The router is necessary because there are not enough ports on the bridge for all necessary cable connections. A fiver users is plugged into the router so that it both (either the server and a user) have a wired connection (this is necessary because of special circumstances). One of wireless users was able to connect after configuration of the router. The user encounter this problem is a laptop running Windows 7 x 64. See the Wi - Fi network as limited. Diagnosis is by saying that the DNS can be unavailable. How can I solve this problem without potentially interfering with the connectivity of the other user?

P.S. I didn't want to find a similar question to this one buried in the forums somewhere.

To solve the problem, I have disabled the DHCP disabled the DNS server, and then set the address IP of the router should match that of the entry door. Once the computer restarts, all network related issues have been resolved.
