Thanks for any help anyone can give me, my name is Lothar Truderung; my e-mail address is: * address email is removed from the privacy *
In addition to suggestions of Diana, sometimes Explorer stops due to a corrupted file system (disk). It wouldn't hurt to try to check the disk using "chkdsk/r". The procedure to do this is here:

I have a 32-bit operating system Vista has an attached through USB printers laserjet P1006 HP. It has worked well for more than a year when, all of a sudden, I started having the following boxes. 'Windows Explorer stops' "Windows Explorer restarts" then I get the box "Check for Updates of Windows. The printer does not print ever.
I tried to remove/add the printer. Downloaded the latest drivers from HP. Finally decided to use the Dell PC Restore function. Formatted and reloaded the OS. After you add the printer, it worked for 2 days. All of a sudden have the same messages and not print.
Don't know what to do with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why Windows Explorer stops working?
On my newly installed copy of Windows 7 x 64 Home Premium, I keep getting a message "Windows Explorer has stopped working: Windows Explorer has stopped working and needs to be closed", whenever I try to access things like my DHM and trash. I've had this problem since I bought this computer had Vista on it. I have a feeling it has to do with a program that is not compatible with the shell, but I don't know who he is. For the most part, I check all my programs against the Windows 7 compatibility chart to ensure they don't cause problems. This problem, while I'm sure that he cause any performance issue apart from not being able to access things that work out of Windows Explorer, has irritated the heck out of me for months. I really want to solve it, but nobody seems to have a definitive answer. I did the System File Checker and it found no problem, so I guess that my installation is fine and it's certainly a few incompatible program, but which. I could list the programs that I have installed to see if anyone of you knows no incompatibility.
Installed programs:
Version of the Adobe Flash 10 Plugin
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS4 x 64 (tests)
Adobe Bridge CS4
GOAL 7
CCleaner
iTunes x 64 (and all the programs that came with it: Quicktime, Hello, Apple Software Update, etc.)
Microsoft Office 2003 Professional
Mozilla Firefox 3.5.5
Norton Internet Security 2010
VLC Media Player 1.0.3
Windows Live Essentials
Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin
WinRar x 64 3.9.0Apart from drivers, that's all, I installed. I also have programs that come with those are installed. I would also like to add that I just clean installed this OS yesterday so everything on this list was installed yesterday and it's NOT Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, just in case there is no confusion.
Any help is very appreciated.

My windows Explorer stops working when I try to use the file menu on a file.
My windows Explorer stops working when I try to use the file menu on a file. If a file is selected in a folder that windows Explorer will be display Windows Explorer has stopped working the message box. This occurs only if a file is already selected and you click on the file option in the menu bar. All the other menu items work well if a file is selected or not, and if no file is selected the menu file works fine. I already ran SFC/scannow from the command prompt, but it returns no violation.

Windows Explorer stops working when USB drive is ejected
Hi all
I'm having a problem with the windows Explorer. When you eject a USB device, windows Explorer stops working and must restart. It also stops working when trying to get the properties of the USB device. I watched "Event Viewer" and there is an error log that says this:
The failing application name: Explorer.EXE, version: 6.1.7601.17567, time stamp: 0x4d672ee4
Name of the failed module: SHLWAPI.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7c9ab
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Offset: 0x000000000000ae81
ID of the process failed: 0xa3c
Start time of application vulnerabilities: 0x01cd974c8a303440
The failing application path: C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE
Path of the failing module: C:\Windows\system32\SHLWAPI.dll
Report ID: 0d06c054-0346-11e2-ad84-00248c7a3b78Now, I had this problem on my home computer and tried to replace the file SHLWAPI.dll with whom I had the internet, but it bugged my computer and had to re - install windows. Now, this computer works fine. I would get a solution to what keeps all my files and programs since to reinstall all my programs and backup my files on my computer to school will be a big hassle.
Thank you

Also visit the web site of the manufacturer of the computer support and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number. If you have Windows 7 drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install them all, starting with the drivers card mother/chipset, SATA, USB, Audio, LAN, etc.

Equium A210 - Windows Explorer stops working
I have a laptop Equium A210. Why does windows Explorer stop working and restart all the time?
> Why windows Explorer does not work and restart all the time
Who knows? :|Maybe you have messed your OS and now OS doesn't function properly.
Have you tried to restore the operating system from the recovery CD?If this isn't the case, then do it. The whole HARD drive will be formatted and the recovery CD to install the image of Toshiba which contains the OS, driver, utility and software tools extra.
This should help.

Do a right mouse click on the name of the file causes Windows Explorer stop.
The problem is sometimes caused by a third-party extension. ShellExView can be useful to see what shell extensions have been introduced in the Explorer. Lire read on this topic, then scroll down to download the x 86 (32-bit) or x 64 (64 - bit) version here near http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html
When you run it, click the column of company for sequence entries in alphabetical order. Suppose Microsoft entries are in good faith and focus on others. Is something listed that is useless or unknown? If so, select it and click the Red (on top left) task to turn it off. You can find it easier to disable them all and then reactivate (green area) one at a time and try to explore until the culprit is found.

Windows Explorer stops working
Windows explore stop (explore.exe question) it seems only when I try to open a file with associated with Real Player videos. When I left solutions, none are found. I have Vista Ultimate and don't remember having this problem with Vista Premium. I tried many things such as an external hard drive, to reduce the load of memory and a player flash set up as a ReadyBoost. Found a lot of answers about Windows Explorer, but most East of problems with several accidents or other problems.
Any help would be appreciated.
Click Tools and then click Folder Options
On the general tab, click using the Windows classic folders, and click OK.This will cause the explorer.exe avoid making the thumbnail preview on video files that might not be compatible with Vista.

Windows Explorer stops working whenever I have connect a USB flash drive and try to access
Hello. I use Windows Vista.
I had a particular problem. Whenever I have plug in a USB key and try and access it, I get a pop saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working." the file is closed. If I wait a long time (i.e. 10 seconds), I might be able to get into the drive without any problems, but even when there is no guarantee. The problem persists in each USB slot I use. In addition, it is not that the computer is not able to detect it. It can detect and identify that it is a USB flash drive. It's just that whenever I try to access (or the folders inside the flash player), windows Explorer stops working and restarts.
Does anyone have this problem before? And any help is appreciated. Thank you.
The mistake made reference the MSVCR80.dll, which is a Microsoft file, but it may be another third party file, causing the problem.
DivX is installed?
If so, can you uninstall DivX and see if the error resolves.

each installation.Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install

in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
